I can see how they did but that's because I know much about compositing.

However put me a thumb down can go to hell. For goodness sake, it's just some compositing work and editing with software of the likes of Apple Shake, Autodesk Inferno, Adobe After Effects etc. It doesn't take a genius to understand how it was done.

They erased the bubbles digitally and with the help of color grading they could change the hues for a yellowish one. It's not as hard as one might think but it's definetily a beautiful effect.

I could do it in AfterEffects (film with water and swimmer, then without water and car and rotoscope the swimmer in), but this was a while ago - they didn't have AfterEffects back then. It leaves me clueless how they did it.

Hey Reno, I direct tv ads and often see how hard it is for ad agencies to persuade their clients to pay for "some cool thing that's never been done before"; its much easier to say "it'll look just like this cool music video that won a heap of awards". Tiresome, but understandable.

Yes I love Chris Cunningham too. But he didn't direct this commercial- Daniel Barber did, in 2002. Sorry to pop your balloon but this is advertising, so what they do is trawl the internet all day for cool ideas to rip off by people like Chris Cunningham.
