  • Table Tennis History

A classic 21 point match between Jan O Waldner

    and Chen Xinhua

  • everybody that agree with me that waldner is the best table tennis player ever vote for me

  • 100,000 views... =]

  • Waldner is definitely a better player than Boll. Alot more titles and Waldner beat Boll in the 2004 olympics when he was already 38 and Boll was in his prime, eventhough he didn't beat him again after that.

  • @olaniyi570 Who cares man. A lot of people have trouble getting out of bed at 38 let alone defeating a world class table tennis champion. LOL

  • raros gustos tienes los 3 son totalmente distintos

  • watching modern matches of choppers and new videos of walder is inspiring. 38mm ball and no toss serve...

  • not really, long rallies are rather interesting to watch.

  • It's very boring defender all the time

  • @incompetentes unless you play like joo se hyuk, who defends then smashes it at every other time XD.

  • Oh my god, Chen Xinhua is the fucking man. He's always so goofy and I love his demeanor and playing style.

  • walnder look so young^^

  • @bertie411 noob

  • lol so many Waldner fans to me theyre both good players but chen won because Waldner couldnt keep his cool when he started losing so yea chen just kept staying happy for sum reason u always see him smiling o.O

  • they only do it to have a short break between the points, so they can concentrate more ^^

  • gotta love how chenxinhua keeps his button

  • hes the one in that video that does the backflip lol

  • lets not forget about liu guoliang

  • lool vad ung han var (translation)

lool is so young there :P 10/10

  • Bottom line; they were all world-class players who were capable of beating each other at any point in time regardless of titles won. We should appreciate each player's unique talents, i.e. Walder's touch and feel, the footwork of Xinhua etc. They must all have profound respect for each other.

  • If one is to determine the greatest player by counting the number of major titles won, Waldner turns out to be the greatest ever.

  • Waldner bet Timo Boll 4-1 in 2004.

  • oh rily?how much does he....BET?lol ^^

  • Guo Yuehua and Waldner are probably equal. Waldner says he regrets not playing Guo at his peak-What a loop that was . . Waldner is smooth and cunning. Equal for sure.

  • Timo Boll, Waldner, and chen xinhua are my favorite of all time.

I would say waldner was better than timo boll. (but who knows who would win at both players prime)

  • @TableTenniskid88

Ridiculous to even compare Waldner with Boll. Boll has never been able to really challenge the chinese players.

  • @TableTenniskid88 Waldner 4 SURE. Waldner = 4Time world finalist (87, 89, 91, 97), 2x world Champ, Olympic Champ (92'), etc, etc. Boll is the man but he's no Waldner IMO ;)

  • @lildavey09 So true

  • yes yes.....but i prefer timo boll.....he is the best

  • Timo Boll? Compared to Waldner? It's fine to say you prefer Timo... we all have favorites (I loved watching Gatien, Appelgren, etc...,) but as far as "the best", it's pretty hard to argue with Waldner's results and abilities over such a prolonged period of time, isn't it?

  • Giek3, you probably haven't seen much table tennis in your lifetime - no offense though. Waldner is the best player of all time.

  • no problem.... i'm 16 and surely i couldnt see a lot of table tennis like you but it is only my opinion...there is who say that pele is the best and who say that maradona is the best ;)

    TABLE TENNIS 4EVER^^

  • LOL You're so right dude!

  • In YouTube there are many videos from the past were you could watch J.O. Waldner. His career has been remarkable from more than 20 years!!!

Timo Boll and the top chinese playes from today have a long way to go to be compared whith the greatest J.O.

  • Not a chanse. Guo Yuehua certainly is greater, and even Wang Liqin and Kong Linghui are more worthy of that title than Waldner. Waldner is the greatest European player of the sponge era, though.

  • What we need is a time machine to transport all these guys when they were at their peaks to the same point in time and then have a round-robin tournament!

  • Wang Liqin have yet to win the olympic or/and world cup, and as of Kong Linghui, Waldner have MORE prestige titles than him....including getting the tt grand slam in a shorter amount of time. How about Guo Yehua then? Hehe Waldner has as many world champ finals as him so they equal eachothers. Waldner IS the greatest ever.

  • I second that.

  • This is awesome - look how young Waldner is!!!

  • Yes, I've been following Waldner's career since 1989. He's my idol!

  • Waldner stor förlust för Sverige att han slutat.. älskad e han o alltid ihågkommen

  • classic chen xinhua alias. Jackie Chan of Chinese bananus

  • Wow. Waldner's been at the top for so long.

  • CLAAAAAAASIC.

    Thanks!
