Probably not a good idea to give her/him a general power of attorney effective while he she is alive....friend of mines wife went out sold his Corvette...got a boob job...maxed all of his credit cards (shopping)...then filed for the big D and settled it for him as well.....of course I'm sure your significant other would NEVER do this to you.....but just in case....
@Fastjetdriver Yes, there is a concern there. If you don't know your wife very well, you wouldn't want to do this. That situation was probably the exception. Most wives don't do that. I am sorry to hear about your friend, though. General power of attorney does have limits, and even *with* the GPoA, there are lots of hoops to jump through. GPoA is very useful, though, and will help a lot of GOOD wives. You shouldn't punish the good ones for the bad deeds of the few. Thanks for the comment!
omg i really needed this...since im going to b married in less than 2wks i really want to kno how i can take care of his things and have him worry about 1 less thing....but just to let u kno u probably will be hearing from me with questions lol....but thank u for posting this...ur awesome!!! =]
awsome i wonder how i miss this yesterday =)) thanks for the shout out. can you ask your soldier questions like how is it over there. weather, food,eviorment, people ex. bc when i ask my husband he does not want me to know he thinks i will worry. so it whould be nice to know from another soldier view point =) thanks so much
