Maori, why is it that the one part of her body that always seems to stand out is her nose? I just spam the twins like crazy. All in all, Maori makes you want to master her, no matter how hard she is to master. She's a miko and mikos rule!
Agreed that Maori was an exceptionally difficult character to get comfortable with, but I was able to find a good foot to start on (after about...oh, 500,000 losses against Mildred) even though I'm not much of a fighting game expert. Aside from the difficulty, I've got to admit, Maori's my favorite character in this game.
It's not that I don't like Maori, it's just that the thought of fighting when a good portion of your attacks are a call for other family members to help troubles me...so I never use her that much.
Or maybe I could be just someone who couldn't get the hang of using her because she's quite difficult? Hehe. x-x
Don't worry, you aren't the only one. Her slow speed, lack of air combos and dependence on her sisters makes her looked frowned upon.
Truth be told, I almost gave up on her because she was so freakin' hard to play with at first. It takes a lot of practice and timing to get some good corner rapes, loops and ground combos with her. I try not to rely on Tsuzune so much but rather the twins. I suck with using the twins but the reward is that, they can be good combo starters for me.
I like using Maori with the metal arcana because with Maori you keep a fair distance meaning you can't do many high hitting combos to get your super bar up. With the metal arcana, you can stay a fair distance and still charge your super meter at the same time. However, there are people like me who can't live to see Maori a keep away character and charge right into the fighting.
Yes! I agree wholeheartedly! (I also use Maori as a "In Your Face" character rather than a keep away) I never thought of using Maori and Orichalkos. I might give that a whirl. I use Maori/Bhanri or Maori/Anutpada.

Ouch. Ouch. But, that was a good one!
It's just that people really have to practice with her. It's hard. I dunno, I just find her a lot easier to work with than some of the other maidens.
