If the NWT was a literal translation like they claim, then Jn. 8:58 would not be rendered "I HAVE BEEN", but instead "I AM" like the Greek and many reputable translations read! But if that was done, then Jn. 8:58 would be too closely associated with Exo. 3:14, which the WS doesn't want. (In Exo. 3:14, God identifies Himself as I AM.)

The King James Version clearly says the opposite, that Jesus is God and that God is a triune God. And they don't believe that Jesus could be "in" a Christian, but rather "in union with". They also believe in "superseding revelation", or something that continues to unfold. JWs also never stay on point, but rather twist,spin and manipulate the conversation, so that they always have the last word.

If the NWT was a literal translation like they claim, then Jn. 8:58 would not be rendered "I HAVE BEEN", but instead "I AM" like the Greek and many reputable translations read! But if that was done, then Jn. 8:58 would be too closely associated with Exo. 3:14, which the WS doesn't want. (In Exo. 3:14, God identifies Himself as I AM.)

Saying "a god" does not imply polytheism. "God" is the word used for someone with great power. Jesus himself called the Pharisees "gods", because they had power.
And Catholicism is far more polytheistic than many other religions.
