  • On Thursdays I'm at dance for 5 hours without a break, and even my cloth pads aren't great with that much of a beating. Would this work better? Keep in mind, I'm upside down a lot of the time during it, walking in a handstand, etc.

  • @KittyJessibelle That sounds like so much fun! Yes, the DivaCup would be an amazing option. It is ideal for gymnasts and swimmers too. You can go up to 12 hours without changing it and because it is made of silicone it does not absorb, it rather collects so there is a seal created. Even if you are upside down it would be hard for it to leak. Some women like to wear a cloth pantyliner as backup with the DivaCup for potential leaks. Let us know if you have any more questions!

  • Can't you just use a small empty pillbottle?

  • @Lunapads, I can finally put my divacup in with no problems, but when it comes time to remove my diva cup it hurts very much, I dont know what to do! Please help!

  • @SnowGirl0316

    According to FAQs:

Step 4: Removal - Wash your hands well with warm water and soap. Rinse. Pull gently on the stem until you can reach the base of the cup. Pinch the base of the cup to release the seal and continue to pull down to remove. The contents should not spill during removal. Simply empty the contents in the toilet, wash it well with warm, soapy water, and reinsert.

If you are still experiencing difficulties, we advise you contact DivaCup at support@divacup.com

  • I can't seem to get mine in, i"ve tried different folding techniques, just idk why I cant get it in, i can fit two fingers in, but not a Divacup! Please help ASAP!

  • @AshleynlProductions

I usually think of using the Divacup as a learning experience. You really do have to relax and keep trying until you can get it in. I found this video on Youtube, maybe it'll give you an idea of folding your cup: Menstrual Cup folding techniques. In the very least it gives you a few options! I personally love the punchdown fold.

Don't be too worried if you can't get it in after the first few tries. There is nothing wrong with you! just keep trying!

Hey there sorry for the delay, check divacup.com FAQ and search "insert and remove" diva cup for full details. The DivaCup actually has a stem at the bottom that you pull to remove the cup. An excerpt from the FAQ page on the topic of removing the DivaCup: Pull gently on the stem until you can reach the base of the cup. Pinch the base of the cup to release the seal and continue to pull down to remove.

  • @Lunapads

    Thankyou so much(:

  • @AshleynlProductions

    no problem!

  • @Lunapads

So yes, depending on how your cup is placed, you may have to fiddle around a bit with your fingers.

The first time I used the DivaCup, I was actually on a 14 hour roadtrip. There is a learning curve, but its really not that bad. By the 2nd day I was a pro. The fantastic thing about the DivaCup is you literally can put it in and not worry for 12 hours, you don't feel it and you don't need to worry about drying out or chemicals. They're actually on sale right now. @ Lunapads.com.

  • can you use it if u are 12?

  • @yahwhatevah1

    Hey there,

According to DivaCup.com, the DivaCup is suitable for women of all ages as the vagina is made up of very flexible tissue and muscles. Women's bodies are designed this way to be able to stretch to deliver a baby. The tissue returns back to its normal size after expansion with intercourse or childbirth. It is the muscles that usually need to be strengthened after childbirth.

Of course it all depends on your comfort level, and it may take some practice.

  • @yahwhatevah1

For those concerned about the hymen, please consult your physician before use of any internal feminine hygiene protection. As for all other gynecological concerns, we suggest you consult your physician.

  • This product changed my life. I love it.

  • 2 questions

1- can you do things like ride a bike?

2- what is the longest that you can have it in?

  • @lavigne777619

You should be able to do your normal day to day activities, like ride a bike!

It sits on the inside of your vagina, so it shouldn't keep you from doing anything

you wouldn't be able to do with a tampon.

According to Divacup, the cup should be removed, emptied, rinsed or washed and then reinserted at least every 12 hours. Do not wear the cup for 24 hours without emptying.

  • can you like....pee...when its in???

is it good for oversensitive skin too??

  • @lavigne777619

Yes you can pee when its in.

One could have a sensitivity to any substance, but it is extremely rare to have a sensitivity to silicone. Studies indicate that silicone is biocompatible with the body. This is why silicone has been used in healthcare applications for over 50 years.

If you experience a skin sensitivity, we suggest that you not wear the cup for a full 24 hours – especially on light days. It may be best to “take a break” for this period of time.

  • I want to try this because it is difficult to get to the restroom at my job, sometimes I can’t get to one the whole day, and I work 8hrs a day (sometimes more). The problem is I am not familiar with sticking my fingers up there. Does anyone have any suggestions to get used to it?

  • @rxstarh Take a day to sit with a hand mirror and just explore. :3

  • @rxstarh

Hey there, yes its really more of an art than a science.

Keep trying, and keep in mind it may take a few attempts before you really get the hang of it.

Are you having problems getting it in?

  • I LOVE my divacup :)!

  • Thatwofielover: I was just thinking that2! Can you swim in it?

  • @rockstar3shkpro

Yes you can definately swim with the DivaCup in. You can actually use it when doing any type of sports.

  • Fuck I wish I wasn't such a pussy when it came to inserting things into my vagina. I tried to put a tampon in once and I was HORRIFIED! I hope I can overcome the fear!

  • yo digo que lo que va a salir de "la copa" será igual de feo que la tipa de la derecha... :S:S:S q mieeedo jajajajaja

  • can you swim in it!??

  • @ThatWolfieluver

Yup sure can! You can do just about any sport with it in.

  • Hi Lunapads, I just bought my first diva cup off you guys from way over here in Australia. Thankyou so much!!! I love it!!

  • I purchased a Diva Cup and found out I was pregnant before I got to use it. My baby is a year and a half old and I just started getting my period again. Can I still use that one that I bought, or do I need to purchase a new one?

  • @evenstar34

I would check out the diva cup website : (just google Diva cup I'm not allowed to insert links). From what I remember if you have given birth your opening might be slightly larger, so maybe you should get a the size 2? But definitely check out the website they are good at answering a lot of questions :)

  • @evenstar34

I would check DivaCup's website to be certain. However, if you haven't used it yet I think you would be alright. But check online on DivaCup's official website to make sure. If you have already used it, since it is a personal hygienic product, a general guideline is to replace it once a year.

  • can it get stuck?

  • @lilbiscuitmaker It could happen, but is unlikely given that the vagina is only approximately 4 or 5 inches long. If The DivaCup moves up and becomes harder to reach, simply push down (or bear down) with your stomach muscles until you can reach the stem and base of the cup. When inserted correctly (creating a proper seal), The DivaCup should not move up and will therefore be easy to remove.

  • can you sleep in it??

  • @lilbiscuitmaker Sure can! The DivaCup can be worn for up to 12 hours at a time -- perfect for overnight! :)

  • it looks really big and painful lol wouldnt i stretch you?

  • @FMLdoodez Vaginas are stretchy, flexible and expandable. Once expanded, after intercourse or childbirth for example, the tissue returns back to its normal size.

  • I'm only 14, can i use these?

  • hi june, thanks for writing! the divacup can be used by women and girls of all ages. that said, every girl and every body is different. while one girl might find the divacup easy to use, and really enjoy the convenience it provides - others might find insertion difficult or intimidating. check out the divacup website for more info!

  • Im gonna try it!

  • I've used my Diva Cup for about 2 years and I love it! It is a great product!

  • I HAVE to get one of these. I have stuck by the tampon for years and now it's time to give it up. lol. Diva Cup here I come!!!

Can someone tell me if the #2 is the longer cup. I need the longest one. TIA.

  • Oh, and P.S. The DivaCup and DivaCup Kits are 15% off on our website right now (lunapads.com)

  • Go for it! The size 2 is 1/8" wider in diameter, but not longer than the size 1. That said, The DivaCup is one of the longest menstrual cups available (57mm with a 10mm stem).

  • I loooove my Diva Cup! I have been using it for four or five years, and it is amazing! I had a bit of a learning curve, but I will never, ever go back. Tampons and pads kind of gross me out now! (Although, if I couldn't use it, I would use lunapad reusable pads because I never liked that plastic-y cover to disposable pads.

  • I want to try these! I'll have to save up, but it might be worth it! :D

  • id much rather stick to using the pad thanks

  • Like, but don't love this product. For something that advertises as "leak free", it is not. I still have to use pads as a backup. And they say to only use it for a year- not as cost-effective or environmentally friendly as it seems. But yes, this product does need to be more known.

  • i wish they sold those here all they sell here are intead... and they kinda hurt

  • The divacup is the greatest thing in the world. I don't know why every woman doesn't know about them, I don't know why they aren't sold in all the grocery stores where tampons are sold. There must be some conspiracy between tampon companies.

  • @madinthemoon yeah, how creepy is that?

  • @madinthemoon Because the tampon companies would lose money if everyone had a cup! I am getting one so they lost my business!

  • thanks, seems like a great product. Cant wait to try it.

  • THIS IS A GREAT PRODUCT!!! I used it twice now, and it is so wonderful to not have to always go and change your "tampy" or "paddy" all throughout the day. This is SO worth the money. You can use this product for up to one whole year. It is easy to clean, and you can't beat just having to empty out your Diva Cup every 12 hours - NICE!!!! Go purchase this product - you will appreciate it and feel clean and not smelly (if you know what I mean). =)

  • can the blood overflow in the cup? thats my main consern?????

  • W`hile I have menstrual cramps the idea of something in my vagina during the process doesn't sound pleasing.

  • you need to remove it first, clean it, and continue using!

  • when you lay down wouldnt the blood slosh back into you?! please mssage me back i really wana know!

  • it shouldn't quite "slosh", no. the blood could back up out of the cup slightly, but there really isn't anywhere for it to go. the flow will just hang out in your vaginal canal until you stand up & gravity pulls it back down into the cup. :)

  • That's happened to me several times, so I know what that feels like. ;) What you should do is use your pointer and middle finger on one hand (whichever you prefer) to squeeze the base of the cup, and then pull down.

  • thanks for posting the video! ive been interested in the diva cup, this video made me not so timid!

im defenitly going out to buy one tomorrow!

  • I was introduce to the diva cup 5 months ago and I will never go back. My friend purchased one for me because I was reluctant...I am so excited to pay it forward!!

  • I need one with a shorter stem, haha. Other than that its pretty cool and I'm still on my first day! Getting it to open up once it was in was a little tricky though...

  • Did you try trimming it a little?

  • I LOVE my diva cup! BEST PRODUCT EVER!

  • ok quick question. so lets say u have a diva cup in. then you do like a hand stand or a cartwheel, or ride a rollercoaster. Basically anything that will make u be upside down. Wouldn't the menstrual blood dump out and go back up?

  • i think because the cup is sitting outside the cervix where the blood is coming from, it wont go back up into the uterus because the cervix is not open like that. so itll go upside down, but it wont go inside. thats just my theory im not sure

  • I'm so glad I came across videos about menstrual cups and reusable pads. I bought a Diva cup at the start of my period last month and said goodbye to tampons!! I found it really easy to insert and remove. I used it with a pad for back up but didn't need it because I had no leakage at all. Wish I would have found out about cups years ago!!!!

  • im going to get one asap!! :)

  • it actually doesnt hurt at all. I love my diva cup, the only downside was I have a shorter vagina so even when I cut the stem off I had still had problems with feeling it. I solved that problem by flipping my cup inside out and its like i'm not using anything. You'll actually have a happy period.

  • i need a longer stem =x

i don't think they make them though =/

  • they have other menstrual cups that have longer stem. The keeper has a much longer one than the diva cup, so u can try that or other brands that suit you.

  • To flip it inside out? Really?
