  • If South Africa didn't have the quota system (certain number of black players) then we would have had two of the best players in the world playing for South Africa (Kevin Petersen and England Captain Andrew Strauss). South Africa is satisfied with sport degradation to get players of color, who can do the job, into national teams. Stupidity rules this country!

  • @uMuDDyu Strauss would never have played for south africa regardless of the quota system , he only spent the first 6 years of his life there. And his mother is English.

  • @uMuDDyu wait a minute !!!!!! is that why andrew strauss and kevin peiterson don't play for england ???? cuz they want some black players. that's stupid and racial , matt prior is also a south african , way better than south africa wickets keeper

  • hes a southafrican

  • great player.....great potential to become best player...

  • is ian bell still in the england squad or is he still not getting enough runs?

  • @zeeman512 Yep he's still in. Trott and Broad seem to be dominating for England. Ironically, Broad is almost a tail ender!

  • Undoubtedly the best cricketer present. KP hats off to you.

  • All Indians do is hate on white cricketers. Same with Pakis. Asians, fuck off if you can't play fair and be a sportsmen. Asian culture is really not inline with international sportsmenship, you need to succed and if you don't you are full of hate.

  • yea pieterson is south african as is most of the england team....

  • i was there when he first invented this switch hit , it was a great match to watch. he is very daring player and like to experiment new things

  • @jashu76 doubt when he first invented it lol, coz he wouldnt have thought that up there and then, so if you were there whilst he was training i dont think u were there when he invented it

  • i love men

  • they are good shots but did u see how far the boundarys are in

  • They were the same boundaries for ever palyer though.....

  • You must have a great eye to make out how big the boundaries are via a video!

  • Its stupid how short they are these days. Mis-hits still go for six when they should be out.

  • pietersen............ what a freak

  • Nice hits

  • his good but there is no way he is one of the greatest batsmen of all time.. not even close

  • @harsh595 he's South African.

  • @harsh595 kevin pietersen is not english :L

  • @MrJengem100 I know that, but he plays for the English team now, and thats what I meant.

  • @harsh595 hes a southafrican

  • south african*

  • @harsh595 You mean South African.

  • this is the side we need now, not a out of form bopara and a out of form Oais shah...soon as flintoff n KP are back we'll have something to cheer about at one day lvl again!

  • Even tho im indian..but hez ma fav batsman

  • ... what you just read is one of the most idiotic comment's on youtube. It's called a figure of speech.

  • lmao..

    go to school buddy

  • pieterson is an extremely talented batsman

  • i know he has faced the fstest ball ever and survived.

  • i think it was nick knight who face the fastest ball in the history of cricket: correct me if i am wrong

  • Better qualities of bat and shorter boundaries, KP can make fun of cricket and bowlers, those are non cricketing shots. KP to counted among greats, he will have to perform for a while with consistency. He got talent but not among the greats yet.

  • Fabulous run-out from Collingwood.

  • dats y i tried dis shot and it worked.. i also noted dat my brother who is also a right handed batsman couldn't use his left hand wen i said to him to mimic a left hander but i was able to mimic a left hander perfectly!!

  • Slightly arrogant. I also don't believe you.

  • yeah i can obviously i can't play wid my left as i play wid the right but if u ever saw me mimicking a left hander u wud have been surprised. and BTW i think this is cause i am a left handed person batting right handed so it may be due to dat.

  • Just like googly (a spin bowling variation) this shot speaks of his batting skills. totally legal

  • ironic how vitori bowled him out in todays ipl match when pieterson tried the same exact shot

  • great skills

i loved it when he said "SAYING THAT LIGHTNING DOESNT STRIKE AT SAME PLACE IS NOW OFFICIALLY PROVED WRONG"

    lol

  • i aggree with wt ever1 is sayin, its a top shot and perfectly legal, but if a bowler can't miz it up by bowling with the other hand then tht solves cricket,(ITS A BATSMANS GAME)

  • hahaha...that was funny...just because he hit sixes dont gripe....its a high risk shot and he could easily get out...(if you dont believe me, try playing in left and see how it works out)

  • Its totally legal. I dont see the problem.

    mother fuckers

  • Everyone who says a bowler has to tell an umpire which hand he's bowling with, then so should the batsmen are wrong because a batsmen never has to tell anyone which hand he is batting it is just assumed, because they do it all the time.

  • As KP said, it worked for him on the day, but it won't always. He has some big balls, so to speak, and I wish him all the best for his new position in the squad.

  • yeh, he said it could of quite easily gone up to a fielder and got out

  • I dont care what they say....its a cricket shot and thats that...!!!

  • yeha thats just pure skill

  • call it what u wil, its brilliant

  • hahah he sounds like a bitch..

  • I dint see anything wrong with the shot. If a batsman can come down the pitch while the bowler is taking a run up, he can also change his stance. Absolutely legal

  • i agree

  • @forejack1 nobody said it wasn't

  • @forejack1- then the bowlers should get away with bowling down the leg-side! as long as the bowler are not allowed to bowl on the legside then the batsmen should not be allowed swith the batting stance! un-fair on the bowlers! we want to see a balanced competition! these days with the introduction of power plays, t-20 and ipl cricket is becoming a batsmen's game!

  • @forejack1- continued.... if this pattern continues cricket will eventually die because no1 will want to become a bowler! Without bowlers can u play cricket? i dont think so! Maybe the icc will swap bowlers for bowling machines! u never know!

  • TIT.

  • the bowler has to tell the batsman if hes bowling over or around the wicket so the batsman should have to tell the bowler if there doin it. Anyway hes going to miss most of them

  • WRONG! The bowler tells the batsman because the runner has to stand on the appropriate side of the umpire. If the bowler is good enough, then he should get him out no matter what!

  • Well since you've allready called it improvisation to then say no ball is a little hypocritical don't you although this does then change the LBW rule as his legstump is now ina different position but I did see on the news that umpire taufell said you consider the sutmps how they were in the first place commentif you thinks its weird

  • Haha .... :-( You have no idea.

  • I believe the rules def should change, its already a batsman dominated game. I like seeing this in a game but i think if he changes when the bowler comes in, i believe the bowler shouldn't be able to bowl a wide down the 'legside'.

  • are u serious not many people can freaking reverse sweep for 6

  • Andy Flower is a name you used to reverse sweep for sixes. Pietersen is a freak.

  • vinesrok, that wasn't a reverse sweep. That was a left handed shot.

  • I dont think the rules should change, it think it's all part of the mind games between batsman and bowler

  • I agree ... it's a batsman's game so we allow the shot to continue, it's a form of improvisation, no wrong in that but once he changes to left handed, a wide should be excluded. Pietersen's the only man capable of that anyway. Can't think of anyone, not used that much too.

  • Realistically it could be called as a no ball cause there is more then 2 behind square leg.

  • speaking of switch-hitting, are there any first-class level batsmen that are actual switchers? i mean, do they switch from left to right depending on if they're facing left or right handed bowlers, pacers or spinners?

  • 2 of my friends bat left handed and bowl right...but they dont switch :S

  • nodoubt in it he is an amazing world top class cricketer .... switch hitting is amazing

  • So wait, what would be 'wide' if he switch hits?

  • it would go on left hander wide rules, the report that gave the green light to this kind of batting said that umpires should base decisions off the handed batting used. So things like leg side LBW's and such forth are done depending on the stance switched to

  • I think if he switches, there is no longer a 'leg side'

both sides are considered 'off sides' for both LBW situations and Wide situations... Adds just that much more risk into the shot :)

  • so, if the ball pitched outside offstump after he swung around, that would be his new legside. could he still be called out lbw?

  • thats what the mcc have to decide, i guess

  • i think if he swtiches before the bowler enters his delivery stride, his legside should switch too. if he switches after the bowler enters his delivery stride, then legside should remain where it was.

  • Also a potential problem that if the offside becomes his legside, the slips become leg slips and if there are more than two of them, it's automatically a no-ball.

  • this shot wasnt invented by pietersen... its been played before also... mayb not in the international games but in street cricket.... there are many how plays tht n i have done it also... successful a couple of times....

  • LOL
