I think having the presence 2 Karmapas is the blessing of the sentient beings of this fortunate times to serve the never ending workload of sentient beings in deep suffering..

I have not heard the two Karmapas speak bad or in malice about the "other" Karmapa,I find both of them will be respectable lamas of our times.

Ok, so the statement that Orgyen Thrinley Dorje is somehow the "Gelugpa" Karmapa is ludicrous. OTD was recognized by the 16th Karmapas prediction letter, Tai Situ, Gyalstap Rinpoche, and Jamgon Kongtrul before his death. The only regent who said differently was Shamar. After he chose to disagree HHDL was asked to confirm which he did along with a staggering number of other lama's from all four major lineages.

The Shamar tulku line was banned in the past for a reason that is now evident.

1. No, the Karmapa is self recognized, which Orgyen Thrinley Dorje is and Thaye Dorje is not. But, when someone makes a blatant attempt to grab power, people from other lineages should speak up in defense of the Kagyupas.

2. I personally dont have anything invested in the Karmapa issue. I have a few Kagyu teachers but am primarily a Nyingmapa. I just think that the ignorance and deception of the situation is appalling and there really is no doubt that Orgyen Thrinley Dorje is the Karmapa.

Its not a conclusion, its a fact based upon the available evidence. The 16th Karmapa's letter directly and clearly recognizes OTD as his tulku, therefore he is self recognized and Thaye Dorje is not.

thats incorrect. the prediction letter that was written by his previous incarnation is just one small piece in the huge wealth of information and support for OTD that TD just doesnt have. there is really no contest, anyone who has fallen for Shamarpa's power grabbing attempt is either extremely gullible, blinded by ignorant faith, or just plain stupid.

Does the huge wealth of information also suggest that OTD is self recognized?

1. the prediction letter is not "from his website" it is just posted there, everyone knows where the letter really came from.

2. The huge wealth of information and support is really overwhelmingly in favor of OTD, the self-recognition aspect is difficult to prove for anyone but, at least they pursued the wishes of HK16 and followed the letter. The letter is just a small piece of the puzzle though. Nothing is more convincing than virtually every lama of significant standing supporting OTD.

Karmapa is recognised as the official spiritual leader of Karma Kagyu by the indian goverment so he has to accept the India's protocol for such cases..in his life the only he has is his two attentants...
