Sweet! I knew I remembered seeing a guy named Randy Rhodes, just never could confirm it until now. I also remember Cactus Jack knocking himself silly with a steel chair at one point. Fine wresting times!
@cmhero85 The GWF had quite a bit of talent in the day, most of which became big talent later on. Scott Anthony who was seen in these clips is now known as Raven. Bad News Brown was past his prime here. A couple of GWF stars not seen in this were the Lightning Kid (became X-Pac), the Handsome Stranger (Buff Bagwell), Makhan Singh (Bastion Booger, but was best known for an Owen Hart feud on the indy scene), and Hot Stuff Eddie Gilbert.
This is the GWF tournament, which ended with The Patriot defeating Al Perez for the North American title. A week later, The Patriot relinquished the title because Perez's foot was on the ropes but the ref didn't see it. He won a rematch the following week. For doing that, Pro Wrestling Illustrated readers voted him Most Inspirational Wrestler for 1991. I guess it was better than giving it to Hulk Hogan for standing up to Sgt. Slaughter's attempts to blind him with fire.
Oh, wow! That really isn't Dusty! I didn't even let it play long enough to notice. Just a weird twist of fate that I clicked the wrong blank "VTS" link and noticed macaroonlee's comment. Still, Fake Dusty is probably just as awful, so no watch.
Is this a cheap rip off of Dusty Rhodes? We never got CWF here in Ireland so I never heard of this guy. He does the elbow like Rhodes and looks a little bit like him. Is he a cheap rip off like the fake Diesel & Razor?
Never knew demolition ax was in the gwf.

Where did GWF come from? It had some, not a lot, but some true talent in the federation.

GWF was awesome. Who does not love big tournaments. If I remember correctly its where the 1-2-3 kid got his start.

Oh no! You aren't getting me to watch 9 minutes of that waste of lantern oil, Dusty Rhodes! Enjoy your death trap, ladies...
