  • dual sucks..... alpine or polk

  • do u know if these are better than 2 kicker comp 12s

  • the lights i put on mine fry all the time... what lights u got? and do they fry?

  • @MikeNJess3409 That's because this is the worst thing you could do. There is a much better and safer way. Just check my profile.

  • My resistor is missing, cud u unscrew the four screws tht hold in the ilumnite switch and cud u tell me the colors of the R-1 resistor

  • Jajaja i got them buth in me room and sound good but not to much lol :)

  • Thanks I really appreciate it bro

  • i have the same kind of subs and i was wondering if anyone could show me hoe to pulse the music to the leds? i would really appreciate. thankyou

  • @adrian196148 it is actually quite simple, just hook them up in the same spot you connected the wire to your subs.

  • Hey buddy I'm having mine installed can u give me some info in hookin the lighting up?

    Appreciate it

  • Any way i could hook these up to a computer?

  • i might get these i have some questions

how big is the box HXW

what wattage of amp should i need '

and which way should i put them toward the back of my car or toward tthe trunk

  • Couple questions: Would these sound good if i mounted them in my trunk? What amp would you reccomend? Did you hook this up to an extra car battery? (I feel like these would drain mine) Thanks

  • is the mtx terminator better? and i was woundering if i should by another package for the mtx because i heared that the amps that come with the packager arent the greatest.

  • NEVER, NEVER, NEVER connect anything other than speakers to your amp. That is the WORST thing you could possibly do. An amp expects a resistive load. When you put diodes (Light Emitting Diodes) across the outputs, you're asking for trouble. Not only can the LEDs burn up but they can also short out the amps outputs!!!!

  • @sparky3489 i fully agree with you, but just to let you know i dont have my lighthing connected all the time i rarely do it and when i do it is for 2-3 songs at the most at a moderate volume/level that isnt sending a lot of current through the outputs for the same reason....thank you for your comment i hope people see it and are advised.

  • @ec93leo If you'd like, I can show you the right way so it can be connected full time.

  • @sparky3489 @sparky3489 i fully agree with you, but just to let you know i dont have my lighthing connected all the time i rarely do it and when i do it is for 2-3 songs at the most at a moderate volume/level that isnt sending a lot of current through the outputs for the same reason....thank you for your comment i hope people see it and are advised.

  • @sparky3489 I think they thought about that before they made the box and sold them.

  • @bhunter30905 Shows how much you know. Do you think they care if you have equipment failure? No. It means you'll go buy more.

There is a right way and a wrong way. What you see in the video is wrong.

I have over 25 years experience in electronics and design. Check my profile for the right way and a much better design in "eye candy".

  • They are not in anyway comparable to MTX, though they both suck on hitting anything under 30Hz worth a damn. They are not bad for your average daily driver, just down be expecting too much and you will be happy with the small amount of bass they put out.

  • hey man im buying the same exact one but i dont know much about subs and amps. u think u can tell me what to look on the amp thats compatible with this subs? cuz i heard that if i buy the wrong once they can blow or not be enought to sound good. ur help would be very much apreciate it :)

  • are these any good???? cuz im thinking about getting these idk tho plz help.....like are they boss of just okay???

  • how did u go about making illuminite work? what kind of source? i know its a 12v dc power but idk what that means lol

  • @imaranger88 He gets the lights to flash by hooking the lights up to the speaker output from the amp, but to have them on all the time, they either need to be wired to the battery, or some other 12v source, ie, a cigarette lighter

  • @carlover961 Idk where you got that from, but all you need for them to stay on is hook directly up to speaker wire inputs which is right next to the light inputs (+/+_-/-). To have them pulse to the beat just hook them up backwards (+/-_-/+).

  • i remember when i tossed glow sticks in my port to look sick! yeeaaaah faggoot my stock speaker subs sound better nice 50 dollar system tho bro!

  • @J322ALFREDA The microphone probably can't pick up the low frequencies so thats why it sounds like shit, bro

  • @J322ALFREDA yo your stupid the mic cant pick up the lows dumbass. these subs hit pretty damn good with the right amp. they come with factory 2 year warranty on everything. thats how good these subs are. they are near impossible to blow using the right amp. and the "glow sticks" your tlking bout is neon built into the box dumbass. do your damn research before talking shit. get a fucking life

  • you should make a how to video on those lights they're freakin sick

  • @blspanteraozzy if u want them to flash to the beat you hook it up to the subs from the back right to the back left of the box. I had these but sold them so i can get some kickers which beat alot harder then these

  • To the people that bash on Dual, all of their products including speakers and amps are all CEA-2006 compliant.. And for the people that dislike this Dual BP1204 loaded Enclosure, Dual designed the XIA series amps that were built specifically for this enclosure.. Which are NOT available at Walmart let alone this enclosure! ! These amps have specially built in 12v dc hook-up for the Lights. I Suggest the Dual XIA4225 800 watt 2 channel amp for this enclosure.

  • Do these subs have an steady illumination mode and a music reactive mode? Dual's website doesn't confirm the feature

  • thats the sexiest thing ever, you convinced me to buy these

  • hey guys, ive got a question, ive got these speakers and i cant figure something out, when i flip the toggle switch on the back to turn the lights on, they just stay on, how do i get them to sync with the bass like in the video???

  • @guitarman177 u run the power from the sub plug in into the neon

  • @fastplay29 NO! you do not power the lights from the sub!! if you dont own a Dual XIA series amp that has a 12v dc hook up SPECIFICALLY for the lights protected with a 2 amp fuse, THEN you need to power the lights from another 12v source with no more than 2 amps! giving the lights power from the amp or sub will be to much amps and fry your lights!

  • is there some way to put illumination on just regular speakers?

  • amigo como haces para q las luces del cajon prendan y apaguen?? yo tengo el mismoo cajon pero solo se quedan prendidas..

  • How did you make it do the pulsing? Can you tell me, send me a link, or both idc whatever is easier for you... What do you think about 2 8" dual illuminates?

  • sounds good man what kind of amp u have

  • Are these in any way comparable to the MTX's? I'm trying to decide between these and the MTX Terminator package.

  • @Vdubdriver2012 i havent had any MTX but i guess these are somewhat comparable....i heard a lot of good things about the MTX terminators...

  • @Vdubdriver2012 bro, dual aint shit compared to mtx. mtx all the way bro

  • @Vdubdriver2012 haha may i suggest the mtx jackhammer?

  • @Vdubdriver2012 ..i have the mtx terminator now and they sound great..you might want to replace the amp with something a lil more powerful..but theyrr a good bang for your buck

  • @Vdubdriver2012 dual will never reach the level of MTX.. if u can buy ur speakers at walmart, then theyre not serious....

  • @Vdubdriver2012 i just got the mtx terminator package and bought the dual 12" illuminite not knowing the subs came with the box but i can def say that the mtx hit way harder iv had em bth hooked up to sony 1000 watt amp that i bought from walmart...hahaha but i would go with the mtx

  • How are the subs?

are they crazy bass that you the car next to you can feel it if you really let the volume blast

btw how much wattage is the amp?

  • im thinking about getting them, they have good quality?

  • hows the sound quality?

  • @ForTheFaintOfHeart the sound quality is pretty good, depending on the amp you use....i cant get the greatest frequencies with the amp that came in the package so there are songs with low bass frequencies that i cant hear too clearly. but for the money you get what you paid for

  • how did u get them to flash like that?

  • @TheLtdan93 look at my other video, i explain how they light up with the bass..

  • @TheLtdan93 u buy them like that smart 1

  • @AlexanderLeDoux false! i have them and they do not light up like that when you hook them up the suggested way

  • @TheLtdan93 thats cus the suggested way (manufacturer way) is the way to just turn them on and off like a normal house light...to flash with the bass, you have to hook it up to the bass audio inputs on the subs!

  • @TheLtdan93 You plug em into the amp with the sub wires. Easy as that!!

  • what size amp do you have.. i bought the same subs and i need to know what size amp to buy..

  • @TeamHunt i have what jamzyzuicide13 said...the XiA3145 2channel amp

  • Is the XiA3145 2-channel amplifier the one that allows the lights to flash with the bass?

  • @jamzysuicide13 well that amp has the option to connect your light up with the amp but wont make htem flash

  • what size amp should i get for these when i get them? is a 1400watt amp good?

  • @spamwich88 the 1400 watt amp is good but the max watts for the subs is 1100 so be careful dont want to blow them

  • oh ok now i know my question. i have heard from somepeople that for you to run the LED's you have to run part of the wiring through your interior lights. but since i saw your vid i guess they r just dumbasses! haha

  • ive heard from people that to get the LED's to light up you have to run it throught the indoor lights in your car. is this true because i am looking at buying the 10" version of these and would just like to kno.

  • i like how they look....i have infinity speakers in a bandpass box with LED inside and they look nice too.....i like your though...

  • I have the same subs but mine are in a 3.5 cubic foot box pushed by a 800 watt rms MA audio amp

  • i just bought a whole package at walmart for like $120.. its got the box, L.E.D lights and an 8 inch sub. shits better then my two 10's i have in my truck... i love it dude. you cant tell the quality of subs on a computer.. you gota hear em in person. ^^

  • im currently pumping just aroun 500 rms watts....give or take a few....im need an amp with a higher wattage cus im not satisfied with the power anymore....i mean its good but i want more powerful hits...

  • How many RMS watts are you pumping into those?

  • @TheAfrokidDirector im currently pumping just aroun 500 rms watts....give or take a few....im need an amp with a higher wattage cus im not satisfied with the power anymore....i mean its good but i want more powerful hits...

  • @ec93leo well i mean it only takes 600 rms anyways.

  • @b33kmen in that case i guess ill take those into retirement and put in some MTX Jackhammers ive been wanting....or one of those Orion competition subs....idk yet...

  • @b33kmen um yeah so i just checked i lied my bad im no where near the 500rms....im only at like 150-200 rms watts...cus they are running at like half of their peak...

  • Do you have any battery issues when powering these monsters?

  • @WTFArabBBQ none whats so ever! thats what i love...but then again the battery the truck has is those that have extra power (something like that)...if wired correctly you shouldnt have a problem at all...

  • @WTFArabBBQ if ur having powering issues invest in a capacitor it stores energy like a battery so it dosent draw from ur actual car battery

  • i'm thinking about getting these but i just want to know what amp you are using.

  • i have a Dual XiA3145

  • how is the sound quality since ur running of a converter? im thinking of doing the same thing wit my csrt4. it comes with a kicker live load system thats pretty good for a stock system. 13 speaker system w/sub. i wanna change the sub out using a converter but just not sure how it would sound. my hu dosent have a sub option it just has a bass option, so would it be hard to keep the bass balance from my stock speakers and my sub? i hope my question didnt confuse u cause i kinda confused myself lol

  • i get what your asking....well im not going to lie the sub would sound many times better if i had preamp outputs...but to answer your question without confusion you can adjust what sounds the sub gets, so you have to tune (adjust) the bass, mids, and high going to the subs. you get a good balance depending on how well you tune the High2Low converter i recommend it if you have no preamp outputs im not sure if i answered your question let me know if i didnt cus i feel i didnt but hope it helps

  • tx bro!

  • no problem glad i could help....

  • how do you get em to flash to the bass?

  • i have a video up on that...if that doesnt help let me know ill give detailed instructions...thanks for watching you!

    =]

  • Im thinking of buying these cause i don't have much money to blow but i want some more bass in my car. I think they would be good starter subs. How do you wire the lights up to pulse with the beat? Is it hard to wire?

  • thats the easiest thing to do guy!...the lights, but yeah its not the greatest idea to hook them up how i do for the reason that you can mess up the lights because they will be receiving more power than they are supposed to...but check out my other video on how to hook them up...if then you still dont understand i can go into further and more descriptive info...thanks for viewing and i recommend you go with this if you have a budget...

  • I bought these cheap ass subs too... They aren't that bad for the price.

  • of course im getting my moneys worth everytime im driving down elgin ohare or grand ave and i bump to that NWA....-=some song i 4got by who=-

  • Yeah, I have had mine for 3 years now and no issues at all.

  • kick ass...im upgrading to MTX Jackhammers within the next few months...

  • For real? What are those? I do not really know anything about audio stuff. I had to reground my amp though because I was getting some feedback whine... And I can hook up a indash receiver... LOL That's about it.

  • yeah im also buying a headunit (HU) for the truck so tha i could hook the subs up to that and have a better sounding system...this will be my first HU i install in my life...lol just like you im not the greatest with audio but i know my stuff....

  • what do u think about a pyramid 1000 watt 2 channel?

  • ive seen them but dont have any personal experience or knowledge on them....sorry.

  • what kind of amp should go with these?

  • well it doesnt matter as long as you dont use one that will send too much power to the subs, they got a peak wattage of 1100 i use Dual's 580 watt amp...it also depends on how much money you willing to spend...

  • hmm...is there a better entry level sub or are these the way to go?

  • what chzeckmate said.....these are great fo the price and quality...you wont be dissapointed i gurantee. i hope the feedback from people helps you choose good luck! let me know what you end up buying ;]

  • idk much about subs and all and i really want some and i came across these on amazon...so how would these compare to 2 12" Kickers? how hard do these hit?

  • you can't compare kicker to dual. kicker makes competition subs and cost three to four times the amount of the duals. better to compare three or four duals to one kicker and the duals win that one easily.

  • the kickers would thump harder dependin on the ones you get and the money your looking to spend....

  • They sound really good and are a good entry level sub. 2 12" competition kickers can literally blow the lid off your trunk. The duals will hit hard and shake the mirrors but will not do what kickers do. If you want your rear view mirror to fall off get the kickers.

  • I bought two 12" duals and installed them in a very good enclosure almost two weeks ago...no illumination on my install but I wanted to say that these Wal-Mart speakers in a good enclosure hit hard and sound clean. I'm running 200W RMS into each and they have to be the best value I've ever seen for $30

  • yeah they are the real bang for your buck...many will say they suck and its true only because they compare them to the more potent and money consuming subs... your comment is appreciated thanks for the view

    -=ec93leo=-

  • I just got those like 2 days ago lol

    There cool as fuck

  • hell yeah! thanks for commenting! have fun hearing your music.

    -=ec93leo=-

  • sounds good, how does the bass sound on those? I was thinking about getting a pair of those. they run about $130-$150 on amazon.

  • they are great, the bass sounds nice and solid depending on the sub you use you can get just the right bass your looking for...go for it person!

  • i just got those same subs they are badass

  • damn right! haha thanks for the comment

SFUForumTV happy holidays....and enjoy your subs and music! =]

    -=ec93leo=-

  • Happy Holidays man, yehaw!

  • wow thats sooo tight, awesome.

  • yup.. =]

  • Can you give me the detailed instructions on how to light them up with the bass?

  • hello i jus bought these subs and how do u get em to pulse to the music

  • did you get the dual amp that goes with them, and if so there is a 12v port for them

  • if you get the dual amp that come with it and you hook them up to the 12v port they will only turn on and stay on (not pulse)

  • im thinkin of gettin those...not bad i think the sound quality of whatever your taping with doesnt capture all of the bass so fuck you hookahfreek031

  • yeah its a crappy camera that ive had for about 2 years so its not that great for audio. Im going to be posting a video of just audio with pictures and it should sound way better, since im going to use use a recording device. I highly recommend these subs!! =]

  • hey can i know what amp you used becuase im hearing u need the XiA3145 2-channel amplifier for the lights to work

  • well you just need an Amp that has a 12v auxilary input or w/e its called. But that will only (most likely) keep the lights permanently on and not make them flash... To answer your question i have that one you mentioned XiA3145 2-channel amplifier

  • shitty ass subs
