We have a friend who was over in Iraq, and another friend who was sorta in Iraq as national guard. The national guard guy started telling stories one day (gods he tells fucking stories) and we realized it was the EXACT same story we'd just heard from our Army friend. He stuck to it all the way even when he was called on it.

I wanna be a Marine after I get my masters degree. I never really thought about any of this until I was talking to the OSO about how difficult it is to be a Marine. A few weeks later I was helping a friend with his film project and he wanted me to wear a Marine uniform for a scene. I declined. I dont want to wear it until I earn it myself. These guys need to grow up.
@hassaaron14 While your attitude about the wearing of the uniform is commendable, the act of wearing it in a theatrical production is legal and protected under 10 USC 771 as long as it dose not show the Marine Corp in a bad light. This is the ONE exception I can see as justified and nothing else. Acts of good theather that show the millitary in positive light are good for the services in question as they act as free recruting tools and the actor is not using the uniform to gain benifits.
The Lcpl/pfc/NCO is lacking any shooting badge? The 'firewatch' medal (aka National Defense Service medal) and the GWOT are also missing. Get it right recruit(fake). I ran into a fake E-1 at an airport with lots of WW2 medals, jump wings, combat diver, and navy seal. He was also blousing his boots in blues with a blood line? WHY? Keep it real, Join us!
I ran into a few fakes in the mall one time after I had just eas'd. One was wearing a DI cover and the other dress blues with NCO trousers(Blood stripe) and a PFC rank. He also had multiple ribbons/medals. Since I was still in( joined reserves) I stopped them and brought a local GySgt out. we ended up taking the uniforms and them charged with two misdemeanors.
Now that they have tweeked the laws a bit you can go to jail and stay for a while !

Fireman, Police, Military etc. I've encountered fakes while in transit on PCS more times than I can remember. Bars are the best place to call them out. I have "Coined" my share. It never occurred to me why people would impersonate a U.S. Serviceman at a bus station, airport, and restaraunts. You can get military discounts and freebies. I served in the military thirty years ago, and I am accidently given military discounts when I wear military T-shirts or hats. Even without showing military I.D. These people who impersonate serviceman to promote a political agenda are the lowest scumbags of all.

I recently saw a young homeboy walking in a mall wearing jeans (saggin) and a charlie blouse untucked w/ l/cpl stripes. He technically wasn't impersonating a Marine, but it was disgusting all the same. No Marine would go out like that. I told the kid that those stripes are an honor he did not earn...waste of breath...if u have no honor nothing like that matters. I wish I would have thought to snap a picture. I can only hope he runs into the wrong young Marine fresh back from MCRD.

I was walking downtown one day in the 1990's and a guy in his 20's came up to me and asked if I could buy him breakfast because he was a Vietnam Veteran and out of a job. Even though he was obviously lying I asked him which branch he served in and he said "the soldier branch". I asked him where he was stationed in 'nam and he said "in the desert". This happens when you raise the worth of a segmant of the population to "Diety" status like after 9-11. Fireman, Police, Military etc. I've encountered fakes while in transit on PCS more times than I can remember. Bars are the best place to call them out. I have "Coined" my share. This isn't just an issue with people impersonating Marines (even though that is the focus of the video). I've met quite a few people who claim to be former military whom are full of crap. Especially the first few years after 9/11 when both wars were still quite popular. These idiots did not even know the rank structures, units or even basic military terms. Some would claim to be combat veterans, but yet did not know the dates of tours or their names.

I served in the military thirty years ago, and I am accidently given military discounts when I wear military T-shirts or hats. Even without showing military I.D. I recently saw a young homeboy walking in a mall wearing jeans (saggin) and a charlie blouse untucked w/ l/cpl stripes. He technically wasn't impersonating a Marine, but it was disgusting all the same. No Marine would go out like that. I told the kid that those stripes are an honor he did not earn...waste of breath...if u have no honor nothing like that matters. I wish I would have thought to snap a picture.
