.303 is a decent caliber. I have a No. 4 Mk 1 that will knock a deer flat on its ass at 300 yards. Oddly enough it has only two rifling grooves in the barrel but it is quite accurate.
@harryfaber Yes, U.S. made by Savage Arms of Utica N.Y. In the early 90's after I got out of the marines I attended Riverside Aeronautics in Utica in Savage's sprawling old brick building. The rifle is marked U.S. PROPERTY and has U.S. ordinance stamps. Likely a lend-lease piece and definitely a veteran that saw a lot of marching considering its condition. Imagine the stories it could tell. It makes a good rainy day rifle during deer season. Not pretty but a sturdy and always reliable performer.
All that bending over and leaning backwards and forwards can stir things up :D As I am miles from anybody and anywhere, farts tend to come out whenever then need to :D :D
Well, if you want to swop a couple of your 2cm cartridges for a load of my 303's I am more than willing to trade. Say 20 .303's (lots of different headstamps) per 2cm cartridge ?
I would like 2 or 3 2cm cartridges if you can spare them and want to swop.
I found a very old and very rusty revolver last month in a stream next to my house :D
It's just a lump of rust with a wooden handle and a half-snapped barrel though :P

@DanOblacksmith I've forgotten more than I ever knew about Lee Enfields, I seem to recall that two grooves were made in the US.
