This game was so awesome, the plot was like the Cold War, in MEDIEVAL EUROPE!

(seriously, Valeria was Iraq, right down to the 3 ethnic divisions, and Lodis and Zenobia were the U.S. and the USSR vying for influence)

@AICW Um... no. Zenobia's only mission in there was to retrieve the sword that Dark Lancelot stole. And they only sent 5 folks over so they can keep it hush hush. Lodis sent a bunch of dark knights [essentially spies]. Essentially it was a war between the Valerians for the crown. The focus was on Valeria, not the 2 other powers.

It's much more Shakespearean then cold war in terms of plots... if it's more cold war, it would focus much more on Zenobia and Lodis.

@AICW Actually Valeria is more like Yugoslavia with its 3 ethnic divisions: orthodox Serbs(Gargastian), catholic Croats(Bacrumese), & muslim Bosniacs(Walstinians) and Lodis as NATO/USA. Iraq and middle eastern civilization can be seen represented in another Matsuno game: with Rabanastre Kingdom as Iraq and Arcadia as USA empire.;)

*spoilers* This game was waaaaay ahead of its time in storytelling - not every day that a video game will show girls watching their fathers get axed, ethnic cleansing, mental torture, kings getting assassinated, the effects of superpowers intervening in civil wars, French Revolution-style guillotine mobs, etc. etc.
