This piece which was recorded in the 1990's originally is called "True Note" by Scott Welsh. It can still be heard on BBC-2 Ceefax today here in 2008!
i love ceefax, they shouldnt have it off the telly in 2009, they should keep it the way it is, not off air it. i agree it is simple. you just sit there, and watch the telly. it is far quicker. the music rocks, i love it. this is sooo much better than the new teletext they have on the digital one, it is just......well......teletext now doesnt even have music, and this......well.....it just rocks.
Ceefax is the best. It is simple and plain and is quicker than having to load a computer, buy a paper or wait for Digital text to load, which always seems to crash. It is a shame Ceefax will be retired in 2012 when the UK analogue tv is switched off.
oh sweet jesus no! wash our your brain - that kind of knowledge isn't going to get you more rich, famous, wealthy or happy - instead it'll secure you a place in geek hell - repent now before it's too late!
it's one of those nuggets of high geekery that we all pick up now and then - who'd be ceefax expert - don't worry, I know a ton of Doctor Who trivia which I shouldn't.
You can always recreate CEEFAX using Power Point, just use OCR Extended 10 (24pt) for the single line characters and (26pt) for the double height characters. It is very simple to do!!!!
yeah - just before it was 'banned' - just prior to this was a trailer for a "brand new series starting next week called The Office". I really miss it - the music helped me sleep

Got to ask you - was it good enough to record the Teletext signal, like S-VHS could?

I agree with every word that you say RJWooller!
It is indeed a shame that Ceefax will be retired in 2012 when analogue tv is switched off.

Don't worry I'm sure you'll be able to still pick it up on DVD.
