  • awsome bike my gpz900 was a steal at 400$ but its worth way more in fun then any of the newer bikes i have had i need to get a cam so i can post videos lol

  • great machine!!!!!!!!!!1

  • I'll take 2... Now where is my top gun soundtrack?

  • @ ekitching NICE! I just finished my 84 A-1!! It is by far the most violent motorcycle I've had in quite a few years! Since the H1 500cc I had... Best of luck my friend... And a tip, disconnect the crank case breather from the airbox and set it to a small K&N filter and plug the hole in the air box... It makes a hell of a difference!

  • is the bike automatic??

  • I'm gonna get one of these, I've always ridden newer (post 1995) superbikes but I'm really getting into the old school bikes, needs so much more skill to ride hard.... I will look cool on it with my 26 years young.:)

  • Probably not recommended for a beginner, correct? Only wondering, because there's a pretty cheap one new where I live.

  • @carsismeZ06 Buy a new bike, bro. You don't know what the previous owner did to the engine and how much he cared for the bike. It may be good to have a GPZ900 or a ZX-7, if it is yours since the beginning. Get a smaller displacement bike, 900cc and 110HP it's too much for a beginner, and it feels heavy (230Kg) when you are learning, specially in slow maneuvers.

  • i can hear top gun music :D

  • I used to have one of those older Kawasaki GPz's, although mine was a 750 and that thing would move. I would love to give a 900 a go. Maybe someday I will have one, again. To tell the truth, it was the best bike that I ever had.

  • Holy Dick's that thing is fast!

  • @jjlwis not to todays standards

  • Nice video

I am restoring a 1984 A-1 model. I am very impressed with the parts and engineering of this motorcycle.

  • nice wind shield!

  • @spiderschlager Windshield would of blocked camera.

  • 0 to 70 in a little over 3 seconds, OMFG! Great video, thanks

I am starting to look for one of these bikes, i didn't know anything about it until recently

  • great bike love 80

  • where u have gloves?!

  • Ah, memories ... sold mine a few months ago. Sadness.

  • Wow. Brings back memories. I did have 5 Ninjas. It the only bike beside my ZZR1400

That I could do 500miles non stop without anal dilation or nut crunched lol. A genuine 150mph with 2 up. Mine went beyond the 155mph mark 2 up and it had a rev limiter on it that above 10500 rpm it went onto 3 pots.

The original Ninja (Silent Assassin) was nicknamed by writers at the launch at Laguna Seca race track.

This was the bike that spawned todays generation. Still hold it own with todays bikes

  • ps: gotta love texas back roads

  • hey man its matt i am glad to see that my old bike is still running hard to believe i bought this bike with a bad oil leak from the valve cover that i fixed and now its running this good after a little tunng now i have a 09 r6 just wondering if you still have it? i am interested in bying it back

  • Thank you so much for posting this. I am actually getting the same bike very soon and I'm very thankful you put this up here, perfect show and tell.

  • probably the best compilation to display acceleration specs that I've seen.

  • great video

  • I have the 1985 R model but I haven't had it over 6000 revs - too old. Great bike and gets plenty of attention at ride-outs

  • @lesotho00 Life starts at 7000rpm on this bike!

  • I had pleasure driving a blue silver metalic twenty years ago when i was going to high school , wonderful time that was , i jast clicked this video as reminder of those

famous gages , i have forgot an exsistance of that battery gage lol ...

  • TOP GUN !!! My favourite Bike :)

  • This is the one bike I want. Top Gun for the win.

  • I hope you put some aftermarket valves in that thing cause the stock ones are way soft.

we took the head off of my dads when it wasn't making enough compression and after only 40k miles on it the valves were sharp enough to shave with.

  • you forget wheelie :P

  • I just restored a 86 900 gpz.

  • man that thing sounds great and runs like a top.....i love it!

  • Great video you anchored the camera to the handle bars intead to the gas tank

    congrautlations

  • Dude, I got the same bike, just an '86. I full-screened this on my 24" monitor, and it felt like I was doing this myself! Only it looked so fast I almost sh*t my pants!!!! Your "easy takeoff" was like my medium takeoff. Your "Hard" acceleration where you popped that front up and I was like "Oh SH*T!" And then at 170 I was just thinking "Oh my G*d, we're flying here!" WOW. Amazing video.

  • no windscreen

  • great video. well shot and edited -- a great quick snapshot of the GPZ 900R

  • Has the bike been re painted ?. Reason i ask is all kawasaki 750R`s were lime green and as far as im aware no gpz900R came standard in lime green

  • great video!

  • mooch it off him!!! resto that bb!

  • great bike legend im gona get one like this 5th in my garage

  • i got the 85 900 and the 86 1000 rx 2 classics with identical performance but so fun 2 ride its not worth getting a new one thats harder 2 work on period...

  • mine just got all new leads and plugs best bike ever so much style

  • Classic Kawi, this bike is the reason I wanted a Ninja, got an '07 ZX-14, but the GPZ-900 will always be the original badass bike.

  • I like this bike. Got to get me one of these too. Also cudo's for the great sound quality of the video.

  • kewl bike my moms bf has a red one 84 gsx-r 900 it needs air box and a battery for some reason he wont fix it lool

  • nice bike

    glad you got your $50

    i like your style

  • people dont realize that the only thing a new 900 has is more shit to go wrong and a 70 lb lighter bike thats harder to service regularly....

guys with new bikes of all kind always try to dust me only to find that im only a length or 2 behind them and spent 9000 dollars less 2 do so lolo

  • Damn... that bike is sick

  • yeaa time for blinders on the moto now garland wont find u rollin that at firewheel lol..

  • I think somebody stole your windshield!!!
