awsome bike my gpz900 was a steal at 400$ but its worth way more in fun then any of the newer bikes i have had i need to get a cam so i can post videos lol
@ ekitching NICE! I just finished my 84 A-1!! It is by far the most violent motorcycle I've had in quite a few years! Since the H1 500cc I had... Best of luck my friend... And a tip, disconnect the crank case breather from the airbox and set it to a small K&N filter and plug the hole in the air box... It makes a hell of a difference!
I'm gonna get one of these, I've always ridden newer (post 1995) superbikes but I'm really getting into the old school bikes, needs so much more skill to ride hard.... I will look cool on it with my 26 years young.:)
@carsismeZ06 Buy a new bike, bro. You don't know what the previous owner did to the engine and how much he cared for the bike. It may be good to have a GPZ900 or a ZX-7, if it is yours since the beginning. Get a smaller displacement bike, 900cc and 110HP it's too much for a beginner, and it feels heavy (230Kg) when you are learning, specially in slow maneuvers.
I used to have one of those older Kawasaki GPz's, although mine was a 750 and that thing would move. I would love to give a 900 a go. Maybe someday I will have one, again. To tell the truth, it was the best bike that I ever had.
Wow. Brings back memories. I did have 5 Ninjas. It the only bike beside my ZZR1400
That I could do 500miles non stop without anal dilation or nut crunched lol. A genuine 150mph with 2 up. Mine went beyond the 155mph mark 2 up and it had a rev limiter on it that above 10500 rpm it went onto 3 pots.
The original Ninja (Silent Assassin) was nicknamed by writers at the launch at Laguna Seca race track.
This was the bike that spawned todays generation. Still hold it own with todays bikes
hey man its matt i am glad to see that my old bike is still running hard to believe i bought this bike with a bad oil leak from the valve cover that i fixed and now its running this good after a little tunng now i have a 09 r6 just wondering if you still have it? i am interested in bying it back
I had pleasure driving a blue silver metalic twenty years ago when i was going to high school , wonderful time that was , i jast clicked this video as reminder of those
famous gages , i have forgot an exsistance of that battery gage lol ...
Dude, I got the same bike, just an '86. I full-screened this on my 24" monitor, and it felt like I was doing this myself! Only it looked so fast I almost sh*t my pants!!!! Your "easy takeoff" was like my medium takeoff. Your "Hard" acceleration where you popped that front up and I was like "Oh SH*T!" And then at 170 I was just thinking "Oh my G*d, we're flying here!" WOW. Amazing video.
i got the 85 900 and the 86 1000 rx 2 classics with identical performance but so fun 2 ride its not worth getting a new one thats harder 2 work on period...

Probably not recommended for a beginner, correct? Only wondering, because there's a pretty cheap one new where I live.

I hope you put some aftermarket valves in that thing cause the stock ones are way soft.
we took the head off of my dads when it wasn't making enough compression and after only 40k miles on it the valves were sharp enough to shave with.
