Dude, it's called "Stop Shopping Day" and it takes place every year, put on by Adbusters Magazine, and yes, you do make your own presents, out of recycled paper, non-eco-friendly paint, second-hand findings, and things that otherwise would have been thrown out, like making jewelry out of a dead computer, for instance. . . . Silly if you don't believe in the politics, awesome if you do: even the Adbusters guys know it isn't totally effective, it is symbolic.

yes, Dave (James Lowe) is in "GI" - in fact, he's the first male cast member introduced in "GI" - Brad in Human Resources. All the other leads are actors from "God, Inc" except Logan, played by Todd Robert Anderson.
