The 08-09 Taurus/Sable weren't exciting cars to look at, but they were really nice to drive. The front buckets were really comfortable, and the visability was fantastic. A very quiet, quick, nice handling and riding car. I think it was the dull looks that really did them in.
They better not stop making it! My mom has the 2007 Milan. So is she gonna have a car that will be discontinued? She says this is the last car note she is paying so she may be keeping it for awhile, so maybe it won't matter. Still, its the principality!
however there is still some buzz that with the sable and grand marquis departing from the brand there are two new (smaller) models to replace them..execs at ford have said they dont want to walk away from a brand that once carried the Lincoln-Mercury Franchise..and that in order to survive the need new fresh products without the old nameplates..hopefully this is true because the Mercury brand should be given a chance at revival!
As of right now, there are no plans for any mercury's after the 2012 model year; the sable will be discontinued after 2010, followed by the mountainer, grand marquis, & mariner in 2011 and the milan in 2012. There were rumors that the mercury brand would be reworked to be ford's euro division in the US but it seems that mercury is just going to be phased out, which is sad, they rank #2 in dependability & make really nice, classy cars. Ford & Lincoln are the main priority right now.
Yea, its really sad to know that Mercury is already getting rid of the Sable (again). I heard that its because of poor sales and also they want to focus the Mercury brand on smaller cars that are too high end for Ford but not within the Lincoln designs. Love this car though. I have an 08 and its wonderful. I wish Ford would do more to revitalise the Mercury brand. Keep the Sable and bring back Cougar!

What? They're cancelling the Sable? I thought they were idiots when they made the Cougar FWD 4 banger, this is just rediculous. And why the hell don't they advertise Mercury vehicles anymore? How many people don't even know what a Mercury is?
That car is awesome, I want it for my first car when I turn 16. They should put this car in Forza 4!
