Why does your battle last so long? My open field battles last about 4 minutes on average, the AI usually routs within 1 minute of contact. The only reason it lasts 4 is because of the time it takes for them to march to me.

Lancers and pikemen have that terrible bug (00:33) that happens even when charged by cavalry (a bug that hasn't even been reported in TWC) and is also very overpowered: just group several pikemen in the same place and they'll become literally invulnerable, you can obliterate an army of 2000+ soldiers with 450 pikemen (100% enemies routing or dead and less than 10% of your soldiers killed [which is 2000 soldiers killed per each 50]).

@snufffs lol with RTW i would use the checkered formation which made it very easy to surround enemies and break their morale
