  • how much control??

  • @PussayyyPatrol It takes a lot of practice to get good control on a shot like this. The return definitely makes it harder for your opponent to return your flick.

  • wow jesse.... eharmony material right there ;) hahahaha:)

  • very helpful.. thanks a lot..

  • @kinshudude11 You're welcome.

  • what a great site and channel! it's neat to see a lot of the things I do have names

  • @toy23machine Thanks! Be sure to check out our website too. We've got heaps more information about Table Tennis there.

  • hay

  • sidespin is difficult for me to return. how to against the sidespin with penhold grip??? Should I push the ball with sidespin? Is topspin can against the sidespin??

  • @01TheViewer Both of those options will work. The topspin is a more aggressive option. You just need to ensure that you counter the sidespin with your placement.

  • my right ear feels left out because the left one is getting all the attention.

  • @tshirttime84 When we recorded this it put all the sound on one speaker only. With our latest videos we are making sure the sound comes out of both speakers!

  • Hi your videos are extremely useful for me when playing table tennis. I am hoping to be one day the best person on the central coast and so far with your videos they are extremely helpful for defeating my opponents. The only thing i am struggling with at the moment is one person in my grade has an exceptional serve which has a lot of backspin and sidespin at the same time. Do you have any videos on how to counter backspin or sidespin. Love your videos.

  • Should i think while playing table tennis?

  • @OrangeCommando I think that some thought is good. You should think about where you are going to serve and what type of serve. During the rally things happen quite quickly so often your instincts take over. But having a good idea of tactics will definitely help you.

  • hi ping-skills, the guy with you can you type his name to me please. it sounds alot like jesse britnell, and being my surname im just curious many thanks

  • @MrJoeb1993 It is Jesse Bricknell. Pretty close!

  • @pingskills ok then thanks for your response, and love the videos :)

  • @MrJoeb1993 You're welcome.

  • Er, just out of curiosity. Is there a Forehand Sidespin Flick? Cos I already mastered this one to some degree (I need to hit it more accurately) and I need something for my forehand side as a weapon. I wanna beat this guy so badly see... :P

  • @TheWhiteGale There is not anything specific as the forehand action is not as suited to this.

  • no more backspin~

  • will you say this is similar to Wang Hao's RPB (just different grip)

  • @ArchWilson Yeah it is trying to emulate that but with the shakehand grip.

  • i hear jesse bricknell likes to meditate for 3 hours before a game so he can absorb nature's energy and so that the chi can flow throughout his body, leading him to a great game

  • @chiem93 :)

  • jesse bricknell is hot.

  • gib es das auch auf deutsch?

  • @marius7179 We only have this in English at the moment. We are slowly trying to add subtitles to these lessons.

  • i heard jesse bricknell is a bit of a dick

  • don't do beginning graphic again. lol..

  • @xxtekkenxx you don't the like the beginning graphic?

  • @pingskills

i dont like how you're tipped over, if it was straight then it would be okay, or if it was themed for it, like just for this "sidespin" flick video, but not for the rest. and your lessons are great btw, and audio is superb.

  • also it takes my focus off what you're saying in the beginning

  • @TheHaloReach117 a bit slower would be better :P

  • ありがとうございます♪───O(≧∇≦)O────♪

    勉強になりました(=^ェ^=)

    Japanese

  • I'd like to say thank you to pingskills for these videos cause i came 3rd in a tournament against people better than me

  • do these pingskills videos work if i use a penhold, i can only find 1 video by them that uses the penhold but in all their other videos when they are teaching they use the shake-hold. so can i still learn from this if im use the pen hold.

  • @TheCardsfan24 a lot of the principles for the forehand are the same regardless of your grip. And the videos on footwork and positioning are all relevant. From most of the lessons you can take some points.

  • This movie helped me. I learn to play alone. thank you very much:)

  • @KrzysiekTymon Glad we could help. Keep improving!

  • what does the junior say, i can't hear him. lol

  • Why must all cool and powerful strokes so hard to master?

  • hey is a loop and a topspin the same?

  • @888167 No, but they are very similar. Loop is usually used against long, heavy backspin balls to return a spinny but slower ball.

Top-spin is used against dead or top-spin balls and is both spinny and fast.

Loop is done by dropping your paddle and brushing nearly straight up on the ball(at about the 5 to 4 o-clock position) Top-spin is used by dropping your paddle and coming forward over the ball (at about the 12 to 1 o-clock position)

  • I was wondering how to practice this at home without a Table Tennis Table?

  • @2012wyvern Really almost impossible to practice this without a robot or a training partner and a table. Training partner is best so you can do the two drills shown here.

1.) Someone gives you backspin and you chiquitta flip it (that's what this move is called)

2.) You serve backspin and the opponent pushes it back short (then you flip it)

Amount of backspin difference on these two drills is very signifcant and is something you need to get used to to master this technique.

  • @gimplar Okay, I'll find someone to practive with me. Thanks for your comment and suggestion.

  • @TheHaloReach117 Glad you like the slow motion!

  • please subscribe to meee :) mint serving ! :)

  • What is the opponent serves to your forehand?

  • @seguso Check out our video on the forehand flick!

  • @seguso you do a FH flick :-P

  • @machanmax041 Yes it is ideal to use when countering a serve. It is an advanced stroke and will take a lot of practice to get good at.

  • "several years to master" thats no good...

  • @MohzZy I think by master it means that no matter how much or little backspin is on the ball the player can perform the same move and generate a tremendous amount of pace and spin. It doesn't mean that it takes years to learn how to execute the move. It takes years to execute it at a very high lvl though.

  • I really need to learn this. The only effective backhand stroke I have is a defensive backspin. This gets me into trouble quite a bit.

  • listo

  • lool jesse is such a pro

  • Is there a forehand version of this stroke?

  • Thanks a lot guys! You guys are great!

  • Hi Alois ad jeff !You have great and very usefull videos !Can't you tell me the Art and the name of this song at the end of this video ?Thanks Herold008

    its help ... thks

  • LOL that's how i used to backhand when i was a novice

never knew t was a real hit lol

  • Thanks for all fantastic video tutorials. Please keep it up.

  • the other dude sounds like he'd be missing his balls >.>

  • dude he didn't have a mic.

  • cant wait to try it out! i think when he said it took several years to master he meant in advanced situations etc, surely most of us with the video lesson could learn it to a reasonable level in a couple of months of trying.

  • Another great lesson from the best table Tennis Coaching Site, thanks Alois!

  • that shot didn't take me several yrs

    it took me one month

  • i'm pretty sure i went to school with this kid.

  • dangg what a beast

  • Ahhh Wang Hao is very good at this shot =] nice to see jessie!

  • Thanks, I was working on an attack shot from a short serve/ short shot....very nice.

  • great video

    underaprciated group pingskills rock

  • is it important to cut your hair down to some milimeters?

  • ofc!

  • music was epic!

  • Several years to master that?... lol.

  • y dont u try

  • thanks yo...

  • otvcharov inspired video!

  • Actually, if anything, it would be a Petr Korbel inspired video. :)

  • Alois,

I've noticed a lot of players have trained in Europe and Japan rather than China. Since China is widely regarded as a producer of the best TT players in the world - I find it a bit odd that a majority of players don't try to get Chinese training.

Is there a reason for this?

  • Chinese has poor english. You can't learn if you can't communicate.

  • LOL I got 5 thumbs down.

  • @gimplar: Like takkyuHero already said, all over the Chinese country lack in English. They have many conceptional trainings, it's really hard to translate that in English.

  • @gimplar

There is a difference between European technique and Chinese technique. Example: Chinese topspin with a straight arm, European don't

  • nice!!

  • Oh yea.
