Windows exchange programs require you install a desktop component, too. Why not use a better product if you're going to put in the effort?
This software, unlike Windows exchange programs, uploads SMS, call log and photos (Among other things, I'm guessing). Windows exchange programs only backup PIM data.
The information was backed up to a server, so that you can access it from anywhere. It has a way nicer interface than Windows programs, and it let you look at individual contacts.

I dont understand whats hard about syncing your phone with activesync or windows mobile centre. Easy as it gets and only takes seconds each time
