not actully true, the Japanese version of Daytona CE came out after the US and PAL versions and actually has some of the original handling from the original arcade version , as well as the older music (its selectable in the options menu)
the US/PAL version might be flawed, but the Japanese version does fix some the issues, so its potentially the best version to get.
@EmuNext This is the Japanese version, the handling has been made to run more like the original Daytona and the original music is selectable in options.

@superallye This is a semi-sequel. It's built in a different and improved engine compared to the original. It's actually the Sega Rally engine which powers this. It has new features like Time Attack and 2-players modes, and it also adds two new home-exclusive circuits and brings remixed versions of the music tracks (though you can still play with the original musics if you play the Japanese version). And don't trust baobaojames123 opinion. Daytona CE doesn't suck for sure.

This brings back memories. Much better than the original version on the Saturn.

For real? How can a special version suck over a regular one?

@superallye no, he's right this is by far the worst version to go after, the handling, music and textures are horrible.

@superallye
I would say this
avoid the US version Daytona CCE, its the worst.
between the JP version of Daytona CE and the original version of Daytona, its really what you find for a decent price.
I mean , yeah, CE has better graphics, but it is usually a bit more expensive.
