Another thing, and this is my final one. Jon's voice changed dramatically in 1998. Watch any videos from 93-97 and then watch one in '98. Do Blind from 93-97 and then '98, it's the best example. His voice got weaker and higher in '98 because he got vocal lessons. It may have been from Ty Elam, but it may not have been. I do know that he received vocal lessons, which completely changed his style. That lead to the weakness of his vocals today, in my opinion. Maybe a little from the screaming.
@iknowadog Yeah, I watched it myself, all the years from '93-'97 and then I watched a '98 Blind and his "Are You Ready!?" Was dramatically different. Weaker and higher pitched. He's been that way ever since and it seems like his voice just keeps getting higher and higher, lol. To me, the biggest part of Korn that keeps changing is Jon, not so much the music. I mean, it did get a lot more generic compared to their first 2-3 CDs, but he's always changing dramatically.
@iknowadog I also noticed that '98 is the year that JD changed his stage style. He stopped head banging as hard, he started moving away from the mic stand, which isn't so bad, but it was a lot different. He didn't really do the freakouts as much. Watch him in '93'97 and the whole show was a freakout pretty much, after that it was less and less. Then he got the naked woman mic stand and that -really- changed how he performed.
@AloneiBreak22 Yeah, most likely. Plus, age and all that. He also went on prozac around 1998-2000 I believe, which is what caused his dramatic weight gain for all those years. He's off prozac now, which is why he's losing weight again.
@AloneiBreak22 Most people who feel this way stopped listening to Korn about 10 years ago, lol. I still hang on, hopeful that something magical will happen with the band. New Korn fans don't even know about Korn pre-SYOTOS most of the time. Korn doesn't play their old shit (JD MAINLY) like they used to. He's the most lax on stage now. Everyone else is actually a lot like they were pre-1998, but he's just worse and worse. I'd be bored to see them live now. It's like "Why, the CDs are better..."
@SIRRIX000 when i first got into korn, it was through nfl street 3. coming undone wit it was in there and i loved it. i didnt know their early so i started diggin through history and now korn is my favorite band.
@AloneiBreak22 I'll always have my old DVD rips of their early shows to enjoy. Lol. My band is a nu-metal band and we're trying to help revive nu-metal, at least in this town. A lot of people like us, but the Death Metal bands snuff us out and they want to destroy us. They hate us so much for no reason, lol. We've played some pretty cool places so far, looking for new band members to make better music with now. A new drummer/bassist. NU-METAL LIVE ON.
@AloneiBreak22 Yeah, but not anything good. I lost some videos. We've never had good recordings. We've played like.. 6 shows total, and now we're looking for some new band members so that we can make better music. Always looking to improve. The next time we play a show I will make sure it's recorded. We've recorded almost all of our shows but the person holding the camera never gets good angles or they don't know how to work the damn thing. Add us.
Also, another fact: Jon didn't write Blind or Daddy. He only co-wrote Faget.
The original name of Daddy was "Follow Me" and the original name of the song My Gift to You was "See Thru" and then Jon renamed it "Molested" and then he renamed it "MGTY" for Follow the Leader. Korn got sued over Blind by Donn Schinn, I think. Check the Korn ST details, he's listed.
@EanGATArules hmmmmm, I have actually seen interviews with Jon where he has mentioned his addiction to speed when younger though. Also, he was actually a drug addict, he apparently was hooked on prescription sedatives.........and the big reason he gave up drugs is because he has drug induced shizophrenia
@zookbots ya but usually bands will release singles and even play them live before the album comes out so it prolly was april 10th, just like the newest one "Oildale" that was out way before the album
Too much pression on their fucking hearts' flow whose blood's circulation is out of control therefore have gotta be lowered by using ophium plus drugs and some other shit.
But I really don't mind having my fucking day brightened by this awsome band whose reply-effect on me has been taking this soul away from me since 1995
why didnt this song become a single, it rocks so hard, its kind of like selftitled with blind, blind was a bad ass opener, then there was chi on LIP, falling away from me on issues, etc they always have a crazy heavy song to open with.
that's the second meaning, korn's songs sometimes have 2 meanings. like the song "clown", part of it's about the skinhead that tried to hit him at a concert and the other half is about his terrible years at high school.
possibly Jonathan, not sure about the rest, maybe head. but I know the song 'helmet in the bush' is about using speed, which leads to your penis getting smaller. hence helmet in the bush
@iknowadog He was on speed, lol. 1993-1998. God guys, check your Korn facts. I've been a Korn fan for half a decade, own all their DVDs and CDs and all that stuff, have all their rarity stuff on CD, a bunch of their pre-97 shows on DVD. The song 'Helmet in the Bush' is about Jon's meth addiction, the song title is a pun. Meth causes your penis to retract, hence "Helmet in the Bush".
I'm getting depressed watching this. This korn is gone. Such a good time in my life.
