  • ......alcohol IS a drug........no ammount of government sanction changes that, it just uses social acceptance as camo....

  • @65DEMON65 Not only is alcohol a drug, it'd be a class A drug if it was introduced in recent times!

  • back before lou reed was a faggot

  • esta cancion tiene algo como magico, tiene 2 acordes, pero es una belleza increbile, es tan prfunda esta cancioon, la amoo!

  • I couldn't get my mainline sideways so i listened to Sister Ray when she wasn't sucking on my ding dong.

  • The music, vocals, vibes, words, I was a part of the generation, even though I was young. I listened to this album all the time. I am thankful to hear younger people appreciate this music. Bless You.

  • I´M THE TABLE!!!!

  • Was speaking to an older friend recently whilst on holidays in Paris and he mentioned he was at this gig when the topic of the velvet underground came up. Jealous!

  • Cale and Reed breaking up is worse than Lennon and McCartney never kissing and making up.

  • Two fucking great chords...

  • if you are a spiker you will die. stop now before your heart feels like a heel is in your chest stomped down on you by jesus and you are blacking out and your eyelids are being pryed open and they think maybe you're the one who ain't gonna' be saved.

  • I love this song, but like The Doors music, it just scares me! One of the best songs ever written but its dark. I like that.

    God bless heroin

  • I love this band very much...this is a masterpiece \m/

  • What the fuck was that last comment?

  • I agree. Why are there so many totally illiterate comments on YouTube?

  • I know and why does everybody have to be an expert trying to outsmart everybody with comments. Just watch a video.

  • @RandiSierra yea really most people dont even know what there talking about

  • Wow.. really? Some of the best musicians in the world have been influenced by drug use.. unfortunate, but true.. Rolling Stones, Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, RHCP, etc..etc..

Some of the deepest musical expressions have been directly related to an artist's indulgence in a substance.

I guess nobody at an aphex twin show was ever rolling on x, or tweaking on meth, or candyflipping on LSD as well...

    Right?

  • Ooooh brilliant comeback. So that is the best you can come up with? I guess the truth hurts.

Simple as this... this music has been around for damn near 40 years.. it is classic.

Lets see if anyone is listening to that techno bullshit 40 years from now. Frankly, I think you would have to be on drugs to listen to that crap.

I guess that explains seeing all the ravers, sucking on pacifiers and twirling glow sticks, out of their gourds on X.

    You are laughable.

  • @EyeHateChoo I'm not a techno fan either. But to be fair, wasn't a lot of music from 40 years ago listened to under the influence of drugs as well?

  • @EyeHateChoo

    good job man. brilliant.

  • @EyeHateChoo Most of the best haven't though. Mozart Beethoven, Stockhausen, Berlioz, Pagannini, Frank Zappa, All of Pink Floyd (after syd was kicked out), Henry Rollins. etc. etc. etc.

  • @OrpheusIsThe1 I think David had taken a couple trips with Syd early in their friendship before Pink Floyd. And the Floyd would still have some joints every now and then. Some of them were into harder stuff though, like cigs and alcohol, but that had nothing to do with the music.

Some of the artists you named were never exposed to mind-altering substances, some were. Now, I'm not a fan of heroin at all. But psychedelics and cannabis are safe ways for you to expand your mind without addiction.

  • @TheOneartist If you read up about the Floyd after Syd left they never did "drugs" at all. They didn't even smoke spliffs. All this stuff about them recording DSOM stoned off their heads is wrong. They, like you say were into gags and booze, mainly beer, so much so that they had a fridge installed in the studio for their beers but it was strictly business first with them no getting pissed up when recording, just a couple and that was it. There are many film & radio interviews to corroborate this

  • @OrpheusIsThe1 Actually, I definitely remember either Roger or David casually mentioning a guy they knew bringing them a joint every now and then. Considering they drank, they certainly would have no problem with an occasional joint.

Yes, I'm aware of them saying they didn't do drugs, but I'm also aware about one of them bringing this up. I honestly don't remember what interview, but it's no lie.

There's also rumours of Richard Wright later developing a cocaine addiction or something.

  • @OrpheusIsThe1 Still gotta love this song, though.

  • @TheOneartist Oh yea no denying that, and this version, I think, is brilliant.

  • @EyeHateChoo LSD is safe, and doesn't belong with those list of substances.

Both The Velvet Underground and Aphex Twin rule, though.

  • lou reed es mi heroe es un ejemplo a seguir

  • love that song...

  • John fucking genius!

  • The violin is amazing O__________O

I think he's playing the same one note over and over....right?

  • Called drone... Check out La Monte Young...

  • @SHIATSU97 He probably has the same string (same note) repeated 4 times, with different pitch...at least that's what he did for venus in furs, so it might be similar.

  • simplemente una obra de arte

  • man i for got Lou Reed was young ...at one time!

  • whenever I think of him, Young Lou always pops into mind.
