I'm not fond of this piece either, and it doesn't help that Stella looks like she's dressed up to go cosplay at a Dr. Who convention after the show.

I dunno, but this piece always seems a little too blustery to me. Don't get me wrong, I'm in the top 1% of passionate Magma fans in the world. But I can't get into this one. It strikes me as forced, not organic. Unlike the best Magma pieces, which swell and grow to overwhelming emotional power, this one starts at a fever pitch and just stays there, spinning in circles through a series of high energy tunes with no depth. I guess just not my cup o 'tea. And still: Magma iss de hundin.

@utgfy Hey there, I kinda agree with your opinion, however recently I saw them live and they played this song again, I have to tell I largely prefered it over the 80s version... Possibly amongst other things thanks to Bussonnet's bass which gives it a heavier atmosphere - anyway I thought it was more mature, more delicate and in the end more powerful. Should be coming out on a Mythes et Légendes Vol. 5 DVD in some time. Zheul Wortz !

I was 17 when my girlfriend took this Lp from Paris to me, in Italy.
I knew little about Magma, then, but Je suis revenu de l'universe became my favourite song all about, and it's still so now. 30 year later.
Magic. No other words to spell. Simply Magic.

Malheuresement non, ce sont les seules archives filmées par la TV qui existe de cette époque. Ensuite, il existe la video officielle de Bobino puis un bootleg de la courneuve (d'ou est tiré "ptah", à voir dans mes videos. Mais on est déjà au début des années 80 ;o)))

J'adore cette période où il y a Jean-Luc Chevalier à la guitare.
