  • Does the midi work well if I were to connect my Roland Fantom Xr sound module?

  • @organaut

yes, I just do the same thing (with my Fantom XR too)

    :-))))

  • great playing, I too have a vent for my hammond and wished I had known about it before I sold my key B. I am considering buying one of the new MkIII,

  • Yes, I'd like to upgrade also! I think I'm going to order a Ventilator to try with my KeyB. I like the option of different mic placement and that great overdrive on the Vent.

  • Hey Marco! I hear from Elvio that it's possible to update to Mk3 KeyB. Are you going to do it?

    Greetings from England!

    Gary

  • @clavdig

    ciao!

Yes, I would like to upgrade the keyB to the mkIII version (black preset octave).

Don't know when and don't know the cost....

    :-))))

  • Your playing was great! The sounds were spot on. I noticed the typical "stomp box click" when you activated the effects boxes, which you can do nothing about. You'd think, though, that the builders of the boxes would find a way to remove the "click"!

Anyway, thanks for posting this little personal jam!

  • Are you sure about the different Leslie sim Marco? Elvio made no mention of Leslie sim upgrade on the DSP, and I have had mine set up alongside a DSP and heard no discernible difference between the two sims.

  • @clavdig

    ciao,

the KeyBDuo sim with the new clones sonds really better!

  • I have a 2008 KeyB which is pre upgrade to USB, so has poor overdrive. I like the overdrive on the Vent, and also the ability to virtually move mic distance, which is fixed in the KeyB to close mic position. Do you run stereo and do you pan full left and right? Great playing by the way, good to see a fellow KeyB user on here!

  • @clavdig

the KeyBDuo "mkII" (DSP) has a different leslie simulator and overdrive.

definitely one of the best simulation (or the best one).

this recording has been done with the direct audio from a stereo Roland Amp with the Zoom H2 in front of it.

  • Marco I have a KeyB Duo, would you say the Vent is better than the KeyB Duo internal sim?

  • @clavdig

    ciao!

the Vent (as you can ear) is different.

the "moving" simulation of the KeyBDuo is the best around, no doubt.

but the Vent sound is really amazing, and I prefer it for the mic simulation

  • That was awesome! What type of reverb are you using? Hall, Room, Spring?

  • @tvseal0001

the reverb is the hardwire/lexicon RV7, in the SPRING mode.

but I noticed that it changes the organ sound, so I'll find some different reverb machine....

    thanks for watching

  • @marcoballa Personally I use the Boss RV-5 and that works pretty well for me. You have to play with the tone controls a little bit to get that perfect reverb sound. But actually if you turn down your tone on the pedal just a bit it'd be perfect. By the way...the percussion on that organ sounds amazing. I'm a Nord guy myself...but that's a damn good hammond sound.

  • @tvseal0001

thanks a lot for the advice!

    i'll try the boss....

    ciao!

  • bellissimo! grande! :D

Ciao Marco

  • Hi Marco,

Great to hear the KeyB organ being used with a Ventilator.

The KeyB has the really outstanding Spectrasound rotary speaker simulator, so how would you compare the two simulators now that you have had the opportunity to hear both?

Have you used the Ventilator without the Ampeg preamp?

Also you have given the video the title 'Neo Instruments Ventilator' but you haven't listed the Ventilator in the hardware line-up, or in the Tags?

    Thanks for uploading. : )))

  • @rotosphere2000

    ciao!

    thanks for commenting!

you're right, there was an error uploading the video details and tag. Now I added the right word

    :-))))

and YES, the KetB has an outstanding leslie sim, I like both of them.

with the Ventilator you have more "proximity effect", and I like it very much.

the internal sim on the KetBDuo is the best simulation around of a "natural" leslie (no mic, just the sound of the cabinet in a room)

    take care!

  • @marcoballa

Perhaps, ( one day ) a third Marco Balla video like the Ventilator, Pro3X, but just with the KeyB into the Roland? : ))))

Always a pleasure to watch and listen to your videos.

  • Beh io non me ne intendo però...che sound!!! ò_ò un suono bellissimo, pieno, piccato...bello bello!!!

  • @LesfleursdumalSofia

    :0)
