LG stands for Low Grade on this phone. touch screen is SHIT. i sent it in, only to have them tell me i needed to calibrate it. i did. still shit. i have to calibrate it every 5 minutes just so i can use it for a steady few minutes straight. this touch screen is light, and just kinda feels cheesey.

it depends on what service you have. glimmer is Altell. Spyder is Cellular South,US Cellular,Bluegrass Cellular..ect...ect..ect. they're all the same,they just have different names.
For anybody that their LG Glimmer doesnt work well something is wrong with it. But the screen does get dirty, its a touch screen for god sakes your greasy fingers touch it all the time.

I had to replace the last one I had. They swapped it out with a slightly used one. I've had this new one(Scoop) and the keyboard doesn't really respond that well, and if you hold the back button down for more than a second. Your whole message is deleted.
Great video i like how they showed the pros and cons. the guy sounded like he was reading a paper but all in all he did a good job giving the all around details on the phone. he did a good job displaying the phone. i could see the screen without any trouble. this is by far one of the best videos of its kind that ive seen

Just got this phone, love every bit except two things. You can't assigned mp3s off a sd card as ringtones. I know for Motorola you can do a seem edit. Can you seem edit a LG phone? Also since there is only one speaker the ringer is soft for three seconds then goes loud, annoying. This was said to be, because if you dropped a call and someone called you right back it would blast you in the ear. But wait ive never dropped a call with Alltel after 10 years of service.
With my LG Spyder (same phone as Glimmer, different carrier), I can assign mp3's as my ringtone. It's just cuts off after 20 seconds or so. What I do is I search my iTunes playlist for a cool alternative rock song with a long guitar solo as (approx. 20 sec. or more) and then I put it on my phone. It's better than the LG ringtones they give you...

I was going to get the delve but with us cellular you have to get internet (an additional $25 a month) and I was not about to do that So I got this one and I love it.
Yeah internet for the delve is required. I didn't find this out until I went to the store and the guy told me like 3 times after I told him I didn't believe him because I was so pissed

I wish there was a touch screen qwerty keyboard on it like most touch screen phones. And i don't like the slide out number pad because i never use it since there is one on the screen.
I used a glimmer for 3 months. Its a great idea for a mobile device. The pros of this phone are the metal housing and the fact that it is a slider with an above average camera. Unfortunately, there is a lack of a d-pad for navigational purposes. This would be extremely handy for scrolling through your contacts. Please take my advice and hold off on purchasing this phone. You wont be sorry.
i have this phone, its really great. and to answer your question james28291 yes you can bluetooth, you can send and recieve songs but you can't set them as ringtones unfortunatly, but they will be under audio so you can still listen to them =]
I love this phone too, but my only two gripes is that the ringer sucks, and it has some weird ascending ring problem, but you can update it and it reduces the ascending time (why it didn't get all the way rid of it, I don't know), and that it has NO arrow keys, making scrolling through your contacts a pain in the ass.. They let you use the volume keys for a long text to scroll through it.. but not contacts for some reason.
I know that you can search for contacts by the way, but it seems like an extra unnecessary step. It gets to be annoying when you have like 20 people under one letter, and you have to type in alot of the name. I wish there was some way to scroll, I mean, the scroll bar on the side isn't very helpful unless I feel like pressing it and guessing where the contact I need might be out of 200+ people.
If you are depending on a phone to make you look cool.. Uh.. you have issues.
But I figured out my problem, you can flick the screen to scroll up and down, just like an iPod touch or iPhone, I absolutely love this phone! Just took a while to get used to.
when you get it make sure to run the update so you can text chat style and the ascending ring tone problem will be fixed.
yes you can blue tooth ringtones.
this phone blocks ring tones that are made yourself or that are not purchased. the way to get around it is to send the ring tone you have made from your phone to your number. then just save it on to your phone. but you cant use a single ring tone. you have to use the shuffle mode.

1)the speaker is so quite you will never here it go off unless it is completely quite.
2)touch screen is retarted and only works when it feels like it. it is not responsibe.

when you call somebody there will be two icons on the top of the screen. touch the

It gets to be annoying when you have like 20 people under one letter, and you have to type in alot of the name. I wish there was some way to scroll, I mean, the scroll bar on the side isn't very helpful unless I feel like pressing it and guessing where the contact I need might be out of 200+ people.

But I figured out my problem, you can flick the screen to scroll up and down, just like an iPod touch or iPhone, I absolutely love this phone! Just took a while to get used to.

when you get it make sure to run the update so you can text chat style and the ascending ring tone problem will be fixed.
yes you can blue tooth ringtones.
this phone blocks ring tones that are made yourself or that are not purchased. the way to get around it is to send the ring tone you have made from your phone to your number. then just save it on to your phone. but you cant use a single ring tone. you have to use the shuffle mode.

lin2log is a moron... the iphone is just a 'breakthrough phone'.. many companies are going to start making better looking, better functioning, and better quality phones over the next year. And an iphone is what $600?
