@1963impala2dr You may be right. I just remember my neighbor had a '63 silver-blue SS with a white vinyl top, 4 on the floor and the factory tachometer. I thought his was a 327, but it might have been a 409.
Nice job. I like the way you restored the car. It looks like an original car not over done with alot of aftermarket junk that goes out of style. My first car in high school was a 1963 just like yours . Mine cost $125 in 1974 and was gold w'white top. It had air shocks jacking it up in the back and a set of big Mickey Thompson's on the back.. That was the style ha ha. Good Memories.
My highschool boyfriend had this same beautiful 63 Impala 409. This is the only car online that looks identical to his, blk interior, red hard top and he ordered a little blk leather pillow to fit between the front seats for me to sit on. It was uncomfortable and you sat to high but you sure felt special, like a queen on her throne. Thank you for showing us your car it is truely a beauty.
This is a nice car, and what a compliment your friend gave you when he pointed out the only flaw he could find, thats the way it is when you have a car this nice, its when your daughters are in your car, and you ask them, "how do you like my car?" and they answer with." weeelllllaaaa, its kinda good" that you kinda get the idea that your car has alot of issues, lol. See my 63 impala video 34.

The built-in tach must have been an option even on the SS, since this one doesn't have it. Beautiful car though.
