for people who cannot understand the attack concept:

first of all the higher your attack the more chance you have of hitting a hit above 0.

there is a similar thing in magic where a splash is a fail and anything else isnt, lets say a 0 in melee is a failed hit, the higher your attack level the more chance you have of getting a successful hit (1+)

attack does not affect your chances of hitting high, this is purely random but does affect the chance of hitting AT ALL

This is very close, however there is one thing to change. After the system determines whether you miss (0) or hit, you can still hit a 0. The possible hits after you "hit" are from 0 to your max, and each has the same probability of occurring. This is why a magic spell can have a hit animation while hitting a 0.

Oh, I forgot to mention. The more of the screen I have to record, the harder it is to see the hits. Recording all of it to fit my inventory in also makes me extremely laggy, as it takes a lot more computer power to record more. That's why I'm playing in SD rather than HD.

In the clips where I have Ahrim's and Protect from melee, there is another player with claws nearby. They're not on screen, but no one in their right mind would sit there without protect from melee, since I had on ahrim's and a zerker ring and the kid with claws could KO me at any second, especially on ahrim's defence.

The point is, who wears a ring of life instead of a recoil or something else? The chance a life will save you is pretty low, and recoils are more helpful in PvP.

D claws special does a whopping 4 hits, but dds can be poisoned and worn w/ a shield

The claws are a LOT more accurate. If the first hit connects, all four will connect, and it'll GUARANTEED double the first hit for the whole attack. The chance of DDS speccing a 38-38 (if your max is 38) is 1/38^2 or 1/1444, and that's only if BOTH hits connect. The chance of hitting a 38-16-8-9 (what claws will hit if the first hit is 38) is 1/38 if your max is 38.

The Claws are CRAZY compared to DDS, lol. I love them so much.

You didn't add in the attack skill into your equation, attack makes you more likely to hit high numbers. I'm maxed melee and it doesn't take me 500 super sets to hit a 38-38+.

Attack only affects whether you hit or hit a 0. This has been a known fact for years and Jagex have stated it themselves many times. It does not affect your likelihood of hitting high numbers. I'm maxed melee as well and I've NEVER maxed with DDS, the highest I've ever hit was 38-39 when my max was 40.

On attacks where he hits, yes. That is exactly what I am saying and it is exactly what is true. Attack and Defence both only affect the chance of hit versus miss. Every hit that you possibly can hit, from 1 to your max, has an exactly equal chance of occurring, as long as you do not hit a 0. This is fact- research it.

The 0-1 bug IS a bug. If the first hit is 0, the rest work off of a weird formula rather than the regular one- the claws will always hit higher than 15 total if at least one hit hits. Also, the big problem is that the special attack is supposed to hit FOUR times, not TWO. If it hit 0-1-0-0 I wouldn't call it a bug, but it just hits 0-1. And it's not lag, I've had it happen too many times and always with the same numbers for that to be conceivable.
