  • And just when I didn't think 3 could look any more dashing.

  • Ace vid in billions of ways, and well made too.

  • That was great!

Any chance of redoing the sword fight between the 10th Doctor and the sycorax from 'The Christmas invasion'?

  • that's brill!

  • thats brilliant, theres just one problem... u missed the bit where the doctor chops off the master's head

  • Awesome!

  • this needs to happen for real so there can be a proper trilogy of doctor vs master swordfights

  • I'll never see this episode the same ever again

  • LOL!!!.. i love it !

  • lol.

  • lol

  • Darth Master lol

  • you missed the best bit of that fight at the end - The Doctor stealling The Master's lunch

  • use the force master and reverse the polarity

  • @BabelColour technically that's a plasma foil

  • The master watched this clip 13 times aparently.....

My two favourite Doctor who actors. Thank you for this, it made my month.

  • Who could dislike this?

  • I'm dying here with laughter, thanks, Stuart! Yes, I bet that Jon would indeed laugh his backside off, if only he were able to watch.

  • GOD BLESS BBC DVD'S

  • sweet...i'd appreciate it if you checked out some of my special effects vids or tuts =]

  • Now, THAT is a fucking Lightsabre duel! heh! Love it!!!

  • "You will join the Dark Side Doctor or perish!"

  • Absolutely FANTASTIC!!!! Bravo my good man, this must have taken ages to do frame by frame - u must have the patience of a Time Lord Saint! :-) And for some reason I can't explain, I feel the Dpctor should have a green bladed saber. Maybe it's because I tend to picture him in his green velvet jackets. But it is superb and we know

Full well that classic Who would never have been able to feature FX even a fraction this good, so very well done!!!

  • Anyone who knows how to do this effect just has to go out and do it, don't they? ^___^ Still Fantastic!

  • 'Borusa never told you what happened to your father'

'He told me enough. He told me you killed him'

    'No. I am your father'

    'That not true. That's IMPOSSIBLE!'

'Search your feelings, Doctor, you know it to be true.'

    'NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!'

  • LOL! This is great. I have to show this to my Star Wars mad hubby! :-)

  • @immoralq Maybe it'll be a way to get him onto Doctor Who! If he's into Star Wars, then he must be able to appreciate a good story... and lord knows DW has OCEANS of those in it's 50 year history.

  • @hcvang He's already into Doctor Who, which made him love it twice as much! We both started watching around Jon Pertwee's time, too. :-)

  • @immoralq Oh, you lucky buggers... I was 5 when I discovered Doctor Who for the first time, and I didnt understand a word of it at all - just mesmerised me, all the same, on BBC Prime in the mid-late 80s here in Denmark. I remember, I was channel surfing (short surf in those days HA!) looking to see if Star Wars was on anywhere (I'd stop and watch Star Wars or Ewoks even on the encoded movie channels, flimmering pictures and all - I was 5) and I came across Pertwee running around underground.

  • @hcvang continued...

Running around underground trying to get away from a monster - I dont remember the details, but I know I was locked into place for that half hour... and subsequently, I was absolutely terrified and mesmerised by the time tunnel in Tom Baker's intro - that theme and intro became such a legend in my childhood, but then I forgot about the show when I got older - I didnt understand english as a 5 year old, after all, so didnt pay THAT much attention to it...

  • @hcvang continued...

I was 5 years old, afterall, so I didnt pay THAT much attention to it... but as an 18-year old in 2000 or 2001, I found a few Doctor Who DVD's in a shop and I suddenly remembered Tom Baker and his scarf... snagged The Five Doctors, and since then I've been watching the entire series as they get released on DVD - just got Frontios this morning, and I just watched Planet of the Spiders last night, and have Seeds of Doom to look forward to... sad when they stop putting 'em out.

  • This is really cool, well done... I just read your description, and now I know your insane.

  • Haha! Cool!!

  • EPIC.

  • what episode is this sword fight from?

  • @TheSwarmOfDaleks It comes from an episode of the Jon Pertwee era Doctor Who story called 'The Sea Devils'.

  • Hang on - at 0:26 there actually isn't a blade - what were they fighting with in the episode? Or did you just Photoshop out the blades?

  • Hahahah, you're my hero.

Oh and @CaptainAndyman , because it was done frame-by-frame in photoshop, he probably did edit the blade out.

  • Very well done lightsaber duel!

  • Love it! "I wouldn't do that if I were you, That's government property."

  • it was obviously something that someone edited it wasnt actualy in the show

  • It looked like this fight was made for lightsabers. It works quite well.

  • Just spotted "Light Saber" in stead of "Light Sabre"....Are we to call you Babel Color now? :-)

  • ?-Whadda Ya Mean JON PERTWEE had passed away?-WHEN? =(

  • @OLDSCHOOLHHSEX Oh, you know, not too long ago...*cough*1996*cough*

  • @ProtoKun7 What kind of weather do U have over there in United Kindom?-That COUGHING from catching a cold dont sound too good-Sorry couldnt resist ;-) But seriously, Ah havent watched Anything on TV when USA networks during the 1990's didnt have nothing WORTH watching-and not everybody enjoys paying for that *Same-Old-Shows-monthly* cable, Ah rather repair/or Bolt something More Practical together from Junk parts to make better use of my time than watching Useless DIGITAL TV-Signals messes up

  • @OLDSCHOOLHHSEX Haha, I never actually get ill really. ;)

  • Dude, you're officially now my hero. Will now head to my bed on an amused and positive note.

  • I love This "I wouldn't that if I were you. That's Government properly".

  • hahaha! That is fantastic!

  • go jon

  • That fight was like made to be with light sabers.

  • For younger viewers, this was filmed before Star Wars was even a concept, there were no such things as "light sabers" in Jon Pertwee's day, or even through the first couple of years of Tom Baker's series.

  • lol

  • i'm guessing the light sabers were just normal swords

  • I wonder what would happed if you sliced off the head of a timelord?

  • @LaserDarkDX i expect they would die lol

  • @LaserDarkDX remember in christmas invasion his hand grew back when sliced off maybe he would still be capable of regeneration and the head would grow back

  • "We meet again, Doctor. When I left you, I was but the learner. Now I am the Master!" "Oh so that's how you got your name."

  • Funniest thing I've ever seen. This sword fighting scene is legendary and you just made it even more so.

  • they cut out the sandwich! best bit...

  • Best. Thing. Ever.

  • This has actually made my day, fantastic!

  • brilliant hehe

  • One day, the Master and the Doctor are just going to be like "Okay, that's it, we're breaking canon and doing this the old fasioned way, godamnit!"

Then the light saber duel beings :)

  • Oh, how I love Sea Devils...

  • @coaldusty Whatta Ya mean nice effort and hope does a better update? If by better update Umean by using that DAMN CGI,well,(BAD PUN ALERT) *-WHO-*ever uses that CGI Editing had better be real good at using Filters and Editing to keep the Oringinal film stable! Ah was 1 of few people back in 1980's when 1 film was played in 3D ,where audience wore those Celluphane colored 3D glasses,Ah was watching the film and realized places in the film could be spotted without even wearing those glasses >=)

  • @OLDSCHOOLHHSEX point being made here is the same result for that CGI EDITING for LIFE ACTION /MIXED CGI FILMS-if the whole film is*NOT entirely CGI animated* Ah will be able to spot the 3D Imaging the CGI Computer is trying to animate-1 of the worst editing mistakes is like in MARVEL's Incredible Hulk-thers few places for half second frame of the footage, the film CGI animation*Hic-Ups*and Re-starts,But as with that Doctor Who Light Saber battle?-LEAVE IT ALONE

  • hahaha this is actually really amusing

  • Brilliant! And all done frame by frame? Well done indeed!

  • brilliant!

  • Yay for phallic imagery.

  • lol hysterical

  • Add some sparks and vary sound effects a bit more and it would be great.

  • "When I left you I was but the learner, now I am the Master and you will obey me!"

Dang, though, that's one tough tabletop!

  • hahaha

  • @MaskedMan66 haha well said

  • *bows*

  • @MaskedMan66 Only if its made of Mandalorian Iron. Then it can withstand lightsabers like nothing.

  • PHOTOSHOP?!? Wow, that's genius.

  • In one word? Genius! Cherrs!!

  • Your powers are weak old man!

  • Star Wars Episode 7: The Master Strikes Back

    Absolutely amazing work, my friend.

  • how do you separate the frames to do this?

  • My two favorite Sci-fi: Doctor Who+Star Wars= Bloody Brilliant!!!!!!!!!

  • lol this is great i so got to subcibe

  • lol...Doctor Skywalker and Master Vader.

  • yeah--great way of combining two of my favorite sci-fi series!

  • great!

  • Fantastic work Stuart :) I've missed seeing your work!

  • hahahahaha! BabelColour, that was BRILLIANT!! Loved it!! :D

  • You know, you and the Mind Robber would be a great pair...Mind Robber as in a guy who does 3-d Doctor Who stuff (specifically the Daleks, among other things)

  • I loved even the original of this scene ("yes, do let's conveniently hang a pair of fencing sabres right outside the door of the cell that we keep high-security prisoners in"), and you've done just a really excellent job with adding the lightsaber effects. Well done and thank you!

  • One question: when the master hits the table with his saber, if it was a lightsaber, surely it would have cut through the table rather than just whacking it?

  • Seems to me that in Star Wars canon, there is a metal that was specially made to withstand lightsaber strikes. I reckon that table was made of it, just in case a lightsaber duel should break out in the cell block.

  • yeah, they also have an assortment of wooden stakes incase vampires attack.

  • Mandalorian Iron. I think! I have heard of it. It can withstand anything.

  • me thinks, so very very well done!

both the original choreography and this mashup by Babelcolour

  • MINT!

  • It's THE SEA DEVILS, a really fun story.

  • Thanks!

  • DUDE! WHAT EPISODE IS THAT?!?!?!?!

    The Doctor fights the Master?!?!?!?!

  • Really great. It must of taken awhile, frame by frame in photoshop.

  • I know I already commented, but I just have to say this is a masterpeice of science fiction.

  • so loving this

  • Which story is this! Its really bugging me because i have forgot the name!!!! Thats bad of me i know! Fantastic video! I think this should be put into the proper edit!

  • AWESOME! how long did it take you to do that?

  • Jon Pertwee's amazing though, isn't he!

  • ah man, combining my two favorite series. (I'm also a star wars fan as well as a doctor who fan).

  • VERY well done (As usual) right down to the reflections of the light sabers...

  • EPIC.

  • COOL AS HELL!!!!!!!!!

  • That's actually pretty believable too.

  • this is classic

  • Brilliantly done - one of my favourite scenes of my favourite stories, so simple but the effects are so good!

  • I WAS YOUR FREIND AT THE ACADEMY

  • Lol XD

  • Wicked!!!

  • Es muy chulo el vídeo este.

  • I once had a really stupid fanboy story idea where all these scifi universes merged, and the Doctor would work with Data from Star Trek, etc...One idea I had was that the Doctor would face up against Darth Vader and fight him with a lightsaber.

Vader: Where did you learn to use this weapon?

    Doctor: Jedi Academy. Disneyland.

  • @AModernMajorGeneral

That's not a stupid idea. THAT'S FRIGGIN' AWESOME!

  • This is cool!

  • COOL!

  • you fuckin own!

  • why does the master and the doctor lightsaber fighting make me laugh?

    well done btw.

  • FABULOUS

  • Truly fantastic! Thanks for all the hard work!

    xx

  • Brilliant! If you did it frame by frame it must have taken ages!

  • brilliant, you even got the light to shine on the fighters

    Awesome

  • Three and Delgado!Master rocked! Great job!

  • Clever stuff.

  • Woah, great vid love the lighsabers, Good job!

  • Fantastic, that was the infamous story The Sea Devils where Delgado talks to the Clangers. Great take on a great scene!

  • LMAO great!

  • Lmao , fine effort.."worthy of the Master"

  • Back then both the Doctor and the Master were physically more active.

  • The Doctor vs the Master with swords, Star Wars style.

  • Brilliant, great job on the frame by frame animation.

  • i really hated that 'swordfight' but lightsabers make it better!

  • Thanks for the all the lovely comments - I'm thrilled the tedious work of frame-by-frame animation has appealed to everyone. Thanks ;)

  • LOL,this was really good.

  • this is why youtube rocks

  • That must have taken forever!

  • it's awsome, were they just fighting with swords and u put in the effect or is this real?
