  • play imperial march

  • no you can just use the existing hardware to do this no new motor required nor any special software

  • @ladangelo202 some would argue that you would need a dedicated contol program...

  • Comment removed

  • @jannikmt ........................ i meant no special software as in you dont have to buy anything you can write this yourself after about 2 hours of playing around with a compiler and its very very cool just saying anyone at home can try to do it too dont need a hundred bucks

  • Respond to this video... i apologize for being so vague

  • Wow

  • lololol!!! so pretty!!! XD

  • Somebody obviously had too much free time on work... :)

  • Publish directions on Instructables?

  • how it could be not a fake ?!

  • How could it not be a fake? Easy. Put a new controller on the stepper motor within the scanner, program it to hit the right frequencies at the right time.

  • @Natesmodelrailroad Thanks, Captian Obvious.

  • @thegaym0r1337: Captain Obvious at your service!

  • Did you know that stepper motor drivers are very usefull in bulhorn amps where battery powersaving is more important than hi fi sound :D

  • ma come fa?!

  • That was so...cool! I love how that it has a backgound sound (since it's a scanner it makes a whirring noise) XD

  • how does it work?!

  • They are basically using the computer to tell the scanner to move the CIS assembly at certain timed intervals, causing the nice fur elise tune

  • Also with these scsi hp's some of these are part of a startup test they preform if you hold down the scan button while turning on the power and they are set to a certain scsi channel, which I think is 0

  • That is so cute! It seems so proud of itself! XD Hehe ^^

  • that is the best thin i ever saw lol

  • This is beyond hilarious! HP is completely badical for making a musical scanner!

  • Awesome! Super awesome! A scanner never fascinated me this much before...

  • that......was some funny shit.

  • fake?!

  • Nah, i'd be pretty easy actually, scanners use motors that move in steps, all you would need to do would be feed the motor the steps at the same frequency as the notes to the song.

  • muy grosooooooo+

  • thats so awsome

  • Too cool for words!

  • wicked!!

  • hahaha, thats so awesome

  • how the FUC* did you do that?

  • WTF!!

  • Lmao

  • dose that mess up the printer?

  • Who knows? Especially since it's a scanner...

  • XD omg its ALIVE!

  • For anyone wondering, and anyone who thinks this guy did him self, this is built into the printer.

Any HP Scanjet 5100c can do this. If you have one, simply hold the scan button while plugging it in. It'll either play Ode to Joy, or Fur Elise.

  • killjoy

  • How many scanjets have you gone through to prove this?
