  • Not Kenyan, but reppin' Lesotho and South Africa! Team AFRICA!!!

  • I'm almost tempted to start making videos.

By the way, there's a 5-part basic Kiswahili series on yt. This is part 1 watch?v=7M9f_Fx4paI

  • @TetuaMaana : go for it i started doing mine few weeks ago check out my channel.

  • REPRESENTIN THE +254!!!!.....KENYAN TO THE CORE :) AND TOTALLY PROUD!

  • oohh i can teach u swahili if u want.......

  • @velisima100 I AM READY TO LEARN, PROFESSOR! lol i'm serious *___*

  • im soo soo surprised to HEAR people say that when they are in kenya they are known as AMERICAN and when they are in America they r known as KENYAN!!! OMG how is that even possible, which part of kenya did u go to coz i live in ROMANIA and i go home every year, and no1 ever calls me ROMANIAN coz i might b married there and citizen but im 100% KENYAN. u guys crack me up!!

  • @velisima100 hahah well i was born and raised in america. so to my family that's born and raised in kenya i'm nothing like them -- different culture. but when i was growing up here in the U.S., all the kids just see the different last name and my parents speaking another language and i'm tagged as Kenyan. So it's like i can morph into whoever i want to be. shared identities! i think that's how it is for a majority of first generation americans: we live in two worlds.

  • I gotta do this!!!!!

  • +254!!! *Bullet! Bullet* =)

  • I am Kenyan!!! eyyyy Najivunia kuwa mkenya~!

  • ahahahha..lol. i feel your pain lol

  • i wanna teach youuuuuuuuuuuu

  • Utashinda means you'll win

  • I went to Kenya on a photography trip, and let me tell you... You are lucky to be Kenyan! They are such BEAUTIFUL people, so peaceful and happy ! :D

  • KENYANS STAND UP !! (:

  • I gotta make one of these tag videos. Sounds fun :))

  • This was good. I came to America when I was 12 now am 22. I went back in Kenya in 2009 n I was perceived as a foreigner. I embrace both cultures but I'll forever be Kenyan! I confuse people with my accent too. Lol gotta love it :))

  • Hey Evelyn, I think you should be celebrating rather than feeling conflicted about "being in the middle" as a first generation Kenyan-American you have the best of both worlds! Many of us first generation immigrants who came here in our late teens actually feel the same - lived here too long to be able to fully fit in when we visit Kenya yet cant 100% fit in here too. I enjoy having the best of both! Impressed at your depth of knowledge and interest in Kenya and that you like Genge! Cheers.

  • Kenyan Tag brap! brap! brap! Love Miriam Makeda.....Love the wraps, interesting that the have written sayings on them.....well you know we love our Milo too. Okay I'm loving the music! You really did a great job on your tag. Loved it!

  • I love your videos!!! I can relate ALOT! I'm kenyan too ! (bullet!)utashinda pretty much means you shall win....shout out to your girl if you are ever in vegas!! =)

  • Lady.. the fact that you are born in America does not mean anything. You are still Kenyan, Stop acting like you are half. YOU ARE ON A HUGE DENIAL !!!

  • @essynish LOL! never said i was half. to my cousins born/raised in kenya, they'd laugh at me (& they do) if i ever claimed to be "kenyan kabisa" ("completely kenyan"). That's why i say i'm kenyan american. American by culture and nationality. Kenyan by heritage. A heritage i love. I am my Kenyan parents' American child, they tell me this all the time. When I'm in Kenya, i will ALWAYS be known as the American. And when I'm here, people know me as the Kenyan. I choose to be both, and that's okay.

  • you dance good girl

  • I think you should just do an entire vlog of you dancing. It's like, becoming my favorite part of your vids, lol.

  • lol your Nigerian accent was good lol

  • Eh eh!!!!! My dear, you do a fiiiiiiine Naija accent! looool. I'm gonna do a Ghanaian tag!

  • lol you r too hilarious lovin d tag im subbin

  • You had me jamming with the music! I have had to learn about my paternal side's culture from online. My father doesn't talk about our Guyanese family at all. And my grandmother doesn't talk about where her people are from either. I think it is so awesome that you know so much about your culture!

  • Very entertaining as usual. Dunno if Kenyan tv is ready for you lol. I didn't really catch what you said about Obama's 'tribe' .

  • Long, but very worth it! Thanks for sharing this!

  • I feel you about that conflict thing... My family is Guyanese, of course a everyone older than me was born in Guyana... me being the first one born in the US is kinda weird... full blown America's know I'm different when I open my mouth... But Guyanese aren't haven't... I'm a Yankee through and through to them. That's alright, I have my own sub-culture going on :-)

  • Loved the tag Eve!! Proudly Kenyan :-) You got me wanting chapati at 4 a.m SMH! I can teach you some swahili, you'rer actually doing good so far

  • !! Loved it. Your Naija accent is good, lol. I'm Jamaican btw, just got too many African friends, lol. I'm the same way with that whole, "you're not black, your Jamaican/your not Jamaican you're American" blah blah. I hate* that. Eh, c'est la vie, ya can't please er'body! <3

  • lol that's funny u mentioned it, because i was going to make a parody black person tag video. now it's ruined :(

  • I can now update my swahili dictionary, because the only words I knew, where infact from watching the lion king too many times.

  • I like the kenyan national anthem, first heard it on the 08 summer olympics, it sounds so...idk, official i guess, lol. And aww man, so simba's name was just lion in swahilli, how lame of disney, where's the creativity??!! That kenyan music you played sounds good, much like reggae.

I don't know where my ancestors are from, but none of my great-great grandparents, great grandparents, or grandparents were directly from Africa(as in having stepped foot on african land)....

    Great vlog!

  • I enjoyed this vid. Long? Oh, no. You're adorable. It's sort-of hard for some black (notice the b is in lower case) Americans to associate with America. So, when you say culture for blacks in America it is a wide variety of things. We, black Americans, find other cultures very intriguing because you can say this is what "my" ppl believe and do. There is no collective belief just politics and business.

  • I have trouble saying "rural" too! LOL

  • LOL at everybody copies Black culture - my goodness too true!!!!!

  • Lol at the Milo comment... I am Haitian and "Milo" was a staple growing up. I completely agree wih you about bein 1st generation, you always feel like you are in the middle.

  • lol this guy who use to be my pal always talked about Milo. He was from Kenya too

  • Hujambo bibi! Great friday vlog! :D Entertaining and informative as always! Siku njema!
