Man this circuit is wank! There is no flow to any of the corners with most of them being boring 90 degree turns. Chance of rain is an impossiblity as well!

@kilirm This track has only one fast corner, no elevation changes whatsoever, mostly just mickey-mouse chicanes. About as awful as it can get. Korea was much better and restored some of my faith in Tilke.

The guys in charge of racing events should really change the views to things like this. An overhead while not much is happening and then in the battle for 1st 3rd etc have this view. Fuckin amazing. These guys deserve the pay.

Gents, I guess the comments should be a touch more balanced. I work in Yas Marina as Instructor. We happened to lap hundreds of laps on Radicals, Porsche GT3/GT2 and Aston Martins GT4 Specs (and others). It might not be as fluid and fast as SPA or Silverstone or Turkey but there are quite a few places where you can overtake: T8 at the end of the main straight, T11 end of the support pits straight, T17 turning 2nd gear into the hotel and why not T5. Trust me, it's a good RACING TRACK

@cimino39 you have a point, the track is a good RACING track, but i think what people want to see is the drivers challenged, like at monaco. its like the Isle of man TT, no one goes for the wheel to wheel racing, they race against the clock, but its the fact ur watching riders threading the needle between walls, poles, houses, on an open road. it takes ur breath away. the new circuits have no wow factor because the drivers have it easy.

It feels clumsily thrown together with some puzzling corners and anticlimatic straights. Overtaking would be nigh on impossible.

@pishabness With respect, I don't think all the disagreement is xenophobic. In my opinion, Monza, Spa, Monaco et al will forever be more dynamic circuits than anything a desert can produce. It has nothing to do with the culture. Predictable circuits with virtually no elevation changes are simply boring. Unless, that is, a real street circuit is utilized (e.g. Singapore).

The ME has lots of dough, no doubt. But you can't buy topography and Bahrain sucked already. Yaz Marina isn't much better.

No challenge for the drivers, nobody who watches F1 likes Herman Tilke, no gravel traps and it is a terribly easy track to drive look at it. the only thing stopping them from cutting corners is white lines. everybody has had enough of the stupid tracks

To flat. Old tracks like Spa are still a challenge to the modern F1 car so imagine what it was like for the older, heavier F1 cars. The old F1 cars would find this circuit a piece of piss so imagine the skill FOR A FORMULA 1 DRIVER around Abu Dhabi, not much compared to many other tracks I'm guessing.

Yes I thot Lewis and fernando were the two best pilots not in the championship hunt. This video shows Fernandos skill and the Renault struggled for aero grip all season. This is how Fernande haf to race for the grand prix. That takes skill and concentration. excellent. I thot he did better with kers too but renault stopped that :\
