  • Human greed is a bottomless pit.

  • Non-human milk and dairy products are not necessary for good human health. If you an ounce of compassion you'll stop consuming them.

  • As a nurse i notice that the hospital is full of overweight diabetic patients ! A lot of women with frail bone structures and infections. Colo-rectal cancer and heart diseases. SORRY no meat eaters or omnivores on this site, all VEGANS

Vegans are a waste of soy, fish and grain and promote deforestation i n the amazon and Asia.

  • @eIioke Vegans promote deforestation in the amazon, did I get you right? Well, this is WRONG. More than 90% of the cultivated soy is food for Cows. Watch "meat the truth" to find out about the connecton between destruction of the environment and the meat indstry.

  • @Vetlavonne Sorry I'll take a doctor's word over a nobody like you

  • I was drinking soy milk until I saw videos like this.

i already know milk is not produced on a hay farm. So who gives a shit?

I'm drinking REAL milk from cows, I don't destroy cows, my skin is better, I sleep well and I feel ok. It's very unhealthy drinking soy milk anyway.

  • For all you animal rights groups who have not sought the veterinarian word on the welfare practices in this country, beware, my generation of veterinarians are coming out more knowledgeable in not only the veterinary medicine, but also in the political agendas put forward by the money making political biased animal welfare groups. You soon will not have Opera or Micheal Pollan to stand upon, we are smarter this time.

  • I'm currently a second year veterinary student, and I believe in the Hippocratic oath I took before starting my journey in vet school. "I will strive to promote animal health and welfare, relieve animal suffering, protect the health of the public and environment, and advance comparative medical knowledge." Furthermore, it will be my job as a health professional to lead people in making the right decisions in relation to any of the above stated.

  • It's always affluent countries that propose this kind of nonsense. One hundred years ago in this country you wouldn't have heard of such a thing, and our animal practices back then were far worse.

  • Calves are a commodity as well as their mothers. I know they are cute as hell and young, but their species has been domesticated and manipulated for thousands of years. I'm not being cruel, but I'm being real. All bleeding heart bull put aside, these animals are on this planet because we've developed them from what ever predecessor roamed 10 thousand + yrs ago. In addition, people you have to realize that there are a lot of hungry people in this world. Who are you to say we can't feed the world?

  • @strongness13 Very sad that YOU're going to be a vet. I'm going to be a vet, too. It's so sad that vets seem to be the worst animal exploiters ever, even worse than the managers of factory farms. Our oath is worth nothing, it's only an oath to serve the meat, dairy and pharmaceutical industry.

By the way, as a vet you should know that the meat industry doesn't feed the world but starve it (with exeption of overfed Americans, Germans...).

  • @Vetlavonne If you're already in vet school I'd be surprised. If you're currently an undergraduate and planning on going to vet school, let me give you some advice, don't answer questions with the same ignorance as you did here. You need to read. Sure this country is obese (maybe Germany too, no idea). However, that is probably because of many other reasons, such as lazy people that can't seem to get off their butt and go outside and play (totally different discussion).

  • @strongness13 I'm already in vet school, so I know what I'm talking about. I've got enough life experience and also another university degree, which opened my mind. I'm quite sure I have already read more than you will ever, so please don't bore me and don't treat me like a child. I don't understand your comment about being obese at all (well, I'm not, maybe you are?). It's because of people like you I started vet school. Most Vets don't give a shit about ANY animal, including humans. SAD.

  • @Vetlavonne I don't know what vet school you're going too, but it seems that there needs to be some serious cohesion exercises. Everyone in my class (of ~100) cares about animals, some in a more liberal sort of way and others in a more conservative manner. I too have an advanced degree, a masters of science in veterinary science with emphasis on the immunological principles of a bovine specific pathogen. I've been around cattle for a long time, since I was a child. That's my background...

  • @Vetlavonne I stand by my words. I care for animals, as I did this morning and I'll do tomorrow morning, both physically and psychologically. Don't get me wrong, there are numerous components to the food production system that need help, and AVMA is currently addressing such issues, especially the humane treatment of food production animals. If you really want to be a vet, quit watching/believing ignorant propaganda, and read about or visit a beef/dairy facility. Go talk to a farmer.

  • I'm afraid I'm better at identifying propaganda than you are. That's the biggest problem with vets. They're so much in the system they don't notice what it has made of them. "Care" and "kill" is not the same, even though we're taught to believe that. But, nevertheless, I don't want to offend you. That's just how I feel about it.

  • Comment removed

  • @Vetlavonne "Care" and "kill" aren't the same thing? Of course not. You do everything in your power to provide care and support for any creature. That's not even the argument here. There are numerous groups that pump out videos like this with inaccurate and false info and the general public believes it. The same general public that thinks that milk comes from Safeway and their steaks from Wal-Mart. It's pure ignorance and you don't have to be in vet school to understand that.

  • @Vetlavonne One more thing. This video is old as hell. The AVMA and the USDA would be all over this place if they were currently following under the same methodology. Think about it, do some reading and think about it. I really hope you're not a vet student because it would sadden me that my peers are illogical.

  • @strongness13 I said care care and kill is not the same because I think it's illogical to first "care" for an animal but to do this for the only reason to afterwards kill it (we both know this is reality for farm animals). The whole animal-welfare works like that: oh, let's "care" for the animal, let's make the cages a tiny bit bigger and stop beating them before killing. But the result ist always the same, in the end the animal is dead.

  • The only thing that's illogical is to say you care for animals and then help their exploiters. To dehorn a cow, for example, is not "caring" for it. It's mutilation. Where I live vets (who all think of themselves as animal lovers) do this. I don't think you can say you care for an animal and then mutilate it, I'm sorry - thsi IS illogical. You can't say you care for animals and then happily send them to be killed and even watch them die for nothing in a slaughterhouse thinking this were "right".

  • I'm sorry I started this discussion, although I learned a lot through this. I thought about dropping out of my studies before, but now I know it's very important that people like me don't stop. The vets' attitude towards animal has to change radically, and they will. We're not going to be a henchman of the food industry anymore. Well, you are. I'm not. Call me a freak, a tree-hugger, call me illogical or even stupid and naive. I would call it passion. Compassion. Thanks for this discussion, bye!

  • @Vetlavonne It's fine. You probably don't eat meat. Which again is a whole different conversation. I said it before and I'll say it again. We evolved the way we did because we eat meat. Our protein sources evolved the way they did because we domesticated them. We do things like dehorning to protect not only ourselves during handling of the animals, but also to protect the animals from themselves. Even steers like to play headbutt every once in awhile.

  • @Vetlavonne I don't think letting animals gore each other is exactly "caring." There are changes needed in the animal production system, and the AVMA is initiating the process of developing an accreditation systems for the humane treatment of animals in production facilities, and for this very reason the role of veterinarians is growing in importance. Not only to ensure that the animals will be given proper medical treatment but to also hold the producer responsible for the AVMA regulations.

  • @Vetlavonne No matter how much you don't like the idea, there will always be meat eaters. I will be there to protect the food that my fellow humans are consuming, and I will be there to provide "care" and compassion in a logical manner for my animal counterparts, making their lives on this planet, however long or short, as comfortable without disease or inhumane treatment as possible. Good luck in vet school, I hope your profs go easy when you cry on your first dehorning.

  • Most calves that are females stay on the dairy to be replacement heifers. The males are usually sold to feed lots for growth and finishing to be then slaughtered for meat. The video seems to be ancient, I have never seen an operation such as this, and I bet you'd be hard pressed to find one. All calves are dehorned and vaccinated, and the males are castrated. They are then sold after they reach a certain age.

  • Natural instincts for a cow to protect its progeny. In addition, I don't know how many of you have seen a live calf birth, but they eat the membranes that surround the calf (amniotic sac). Provides high levels of vitamins (B vitamins) for the energy needed in milk production (which would normally be occurring even if the calf wasn't taken away).

  • Gave up I quit quoting, just going to answer the quotes. Yes dairy calves are taken away at a young birth. However, they are not denied mothers milk. Mother's first milk is given and is called colostrum. Most important component in the development of a primed immune system in calves. Provides high levels of immunoglobulins (antibodies) which are NATURALLY made by the mother and provide neutralizing protection against environmental pathogens.

  • Quote #3: "In order to produce milk the cow is kept in a constant state of pregnancy..." Yes, and what do you think she would be doing in the wild? Although artificial insemination is the primary route by which the cows conceive, believe it or not natural service can be very effective. To assume that any one cow will never be pregnant multiple estrus cycles in a row is illogical. Furthermore, lets not forget we domesticated these animals, they are built to be pregnant and producers (80lbs/10gal)

  • Quote #2: "Rough handling and unsanitary conditions can lead to agonizing stress and infections." Before and after each milking, for the majority of dairies it is standard protocol to dip and wipe down the teats with an Iodine solution. This prevents the formation of bacterial infections (mastitis). It's in the farmers best interest to decrease stress/infections (hand in hand). If the cows develop mastitis there is an increase in somatic cell counts which decreases the price of milk.

  • Thank you for posting, more love!

  • This is not dairy farming. The calf should have been fed from a bottle

  • Hey Guys, here's Blondie. Well, well that porn issue is A thing huh ! google for all the PETA models and wake up ....U go girls for the animals !

Okay, then the industry i have lived in Italia, Greece, Holland and now Belgium and have visited many livestock markets and slaughterhouses during the years.

My brother was a hunter, i know what goes on outthere.

No calf, NO Milk. Farmers tell me about the grieving mother cows when the calf is put into a little narrow box .

  • Not all farmers are bad guys !!

But they still put the little *male *calves on the market after a few days or weeks/ six months and impregnate the mother cows time after time while there still 'giving' milk . It's hard labour for those ladies !

And in the end there's always the slaughterhouse and the livestock markets and transports of downed poor cows. Even sold for Halal/ Muslim/ Koosjser slaughter huh, but U mind ?

  • As a nurse i notice that the hospital is full of overweighted diabetic patients ! A lot of women whit frail bone structures and infections .Colorectal cancer and Heart diseases- sorry NO vegetarians/ vegans in site ..all meat-eaters !

Meat and Milk is a waste of soy/ fish/ grains. Deforestation in the Amazon is for Cattle ranching, in Asia for Palmoil.

Empty seas, U will only have Jellyfish sandwiches within a few years time.

  • This is such bullshit.

  • the bullshit about this is - that NO calf No milk .

Calves are simply 'by products' for the industry, even for organic farmers.

    Especially the male calves.

I'm from Holland , the country who has invented intensive farming more or less.

Consumption of Milk in countries with the highest rates of osteoporosis—including the United States, Sweden, and Holland So those countries in which people consumed the most meat, milk, and other animal foods. ....

  • I used to live in Holland, you better get out quick before your liberal life is ruined by the invading muslims. You will be forced to live by their rules.

Your animal\protein link to osterporosis is a bunch of bull shit.

  • @cowman1970 Thank you for defending our right to farm against these liberals with nothing better to do than bash our way of livihood. I just wish these people would unserstand that they don't understand animals

  • Y did u not have your wife breast feed him?

  • You are full of shit. Maybe where u are there are a few cruel farmers but hey I have cows who have a better life than your children,.

you dont get a return if you are a shitty farmers.Labeling all dairy producers as cruel is like saying all city women are whores. I feel sorry for those of u who believe this crap. If that farmer was a basturd he would not send a $100 calf to the vet who charges $200 a visit.

Milk is still a cheap source of protein for the poor.Vegan my arse.

  • The good thing about this that those of us who raise animals can get on here and set the record straight. The best thing to do is give these videos a 1 star rating.

  • Thanks mate for your supprt... I hate Cruelty to animals but this video is reall bullshit.... My animals have a better lifestyle than some of these city folks.. this video is like labeling all city women as whores.

  • it must be hard for you to understand that most of the female pornstars U like to observe ARE animal-lovers AND vegans !

Talking about a nice piece of ass huh ...

  • I am not here to walk all over your Vegan arse . I would never dare to insult your gender regardless of your believes even though you yourself think most Vegans are female Pornstars .

Just answer one thing how do you run an organic farm. Livestocks are an essential part a good agricultual production.

How do you feed the Hungry ?where do you buy your food. I condem cruelty to animals but hey Blondie half the people in this world can not survive as a Vegan . I bet you have a vegan dog\ cat

  • Vegans/Veggie people have no answer for feeding a growing world population, They are delusional about anything related to agriculture.

  • Blondie ..How come Pornstars wear mink/fox coats wear leather and swade (Pig skin) keep pets .

The coffee you drink has caused the distruction of the rain forests..May be an ape or even a bird has gon extinct..Have you thought about that.

Your city pet industry buys downer cows and horses from us. Foals from PMU farms( Pregnant Horse urine for Contreceptive pills ) go straight to caned meat factories . Boy you consume alot of horse Piss . I bet you did not know that. The glue the medicine

  • are you saying Most female pornstars are vegans?I hope you did not mean that ...osteoporosis is a Genetical problem mostly Scandinavian background has never been proven it has been related to eating Animal Protein.

  • Osteoporosis has nothing to do with animal protein. It's the mineral calcium...

  • Come 2 ireland were cow and calves ar treated well and never mind lookin at them mis leadin video's

  • Here in Belgium some farmers let the mother cows just die in the field after giving birth , they have the so called milkfever and don't want the spent the money for the vet.

Eyewitnesed it myself and a friend of my was inspector for the rspca.

    Glad to be vegan !

  • That is tragic. Only in Europe where the farmer isn't permitted to take care of their own animals! Here in the USA we can treat our own animals. Luckily, with our feeding practices milkfever is a rarity.

  • U can still have a good and tasty cappucino with soy milk . Italian sorbet ice cream and soy cream topping for your'e desserts. Delicious taste !

Stay slim and healty and save the little calves ! by cutting out cow milk

  • This video is very inaccurate. I am betting that the person who made it did their research on the internet and not in real life

  • correction than..disgusting and sad to see BEINGS looking like humans do this to the helpless...

.I wonder how their character is and if there really the nice, helpful people next door - do you really think?

We just stopped eating red meat all together as a family and I drink Coffee every day with SILK creamer...not to say that milking them in a not hurtful way and not to the extent that it hurts them is wrong....

  • What a cruel world we live in. I haven't been drinking milk for about a year now, ever since going vegitarian, I just lost all interest in the taste of milk for some reason?

I'm glad I saw this though, since I still put milk in my coffee. I had no idea that they put those poor mama cows through losing a child. How terrible.

  • but it's still worth it, for the coffee, right? It just wouldn't taste the same without cream.

  • Naaah, it taste the same just using that coffee mate shake-in stuff. :P

  • What really?! Oh fine. I'll drink it black then.

Thank you for telling me Lennon fan :)

  • disgusting!!! HUMAN BEINGS!!!

  • You are one to you know so you say you are disgusting?

  • .. these days all is stretched to the limit and they do not live a good live in those little cages and killing the newborns + laughing their butts of seeing the newborn calf die in front of them...no these in my eyes are not human beings...there some sort of other beings...but not human since if we are all suppose to come for God/Love etc...how the heck did they end up on this planet too...

  • The problem with either side of this issue is the same. Both sides use propaganda. The animal rights side only show the bad stuff, the dairy side only shows happy cows. I think the truth lies in the middle somewhere.

  • This isn't the bad stuff, this is how farming is done. I've lived in Wisconsin, a large dairy state, and have been on many farms.

This is exactly how it is. I was actually expecting something more horrific, I guess it seems so to yourself. To me, and anyone who has been on a dairy farm, this is nothing new.

This even appears to be a small farm. The conditions get worse the larger they get.

  • Thopter .... then explain all the good things that we are missing . explain why we are the only animal that drinks milk from another species . How is that natural ? Its because we are brainwashed from birth ... the amount of hormones and pesticides ? How is that good ? Why are girls developing and getting there periods younger and younger ? My daughter started to develope at three .we stopped the dairy and it stopped ..explain the propaganda .. Wake up and start taking care of yourself

  • The milk has to come from somewhere. You say that cows live in an unsanitary environment. Alright, lets put a cow in a completely steril environment and then mild the cow. Will that make you feel better.

  • My great grandfather (or great uncle...or something) invented the automatic milk machine. I feel sooo incredibly guilty....

  • Oh shut your fat face. You should be asshamed for what you just said. I hope a bus rams into your house colliding and crushing you into a brick wall.

  • i swear to god i didnt write that! someone hacked our username or something and said that! i think it was my friends step sister cuz shes a vegetarian. once again i swear to god i didnt write that.

  • Viva Farm Sanctuary!

  • Vegan for life <3

  • GOD i DIDNT KNOW IT WAS THAT BAD. THERE IS SERIOUSLY NO MORE EXCUSE TO EAT MEAT OR DRINK COWS MILK TESOS ASDA SAINSBURYS NOW HAVE PLENTY OF MEATFREE OPTIONS!

  • Where do you think the plastic on the keyboard comes from? Oh thats right animals that deceased millions of years ago called dinosaurs.

  • i cried watching this. I swear on my life if i had as much money as Oprah plus more i would pay for all the baby calfs and make a BIG Huge barn for them to frolik and have fun just the way god made them to do.

it hurts my heart to see this.

  • Paying for them won't help. They will just make more to suffer in their place. The torture industry must not be rewarded for its actions!

  • Kail,

Like the little suffering calf, you don't have a leg to stand on.

The dairy industry wholly and completely makes its profit from the horrendous suffering of animals, period. You should be ashamed.

  • I was drinking milk until I saw videos like this.

I already know milk was not produce in happy farm.

See picture is very powerful, all the people need to see how is produce what they eat.

I'm drinking soy milk, I don't not destoy cows, my skin is better, I sleep well and I feel ok.

Is very unhealth drinking milk produce in this way

  • so sad...seeing that mother tryin to get to her calf..and being pushed away that was so crule..how can someone live with themself doing that? i really dont understand..i dont eat vieal..i dont drink milk..altho im not a vegitarian. i dont buy leather and i dont wear fur.

  • The more you learn jstwantU2noMe69 - the closer you'll get to veganism, I think.
