the colors are vinyl stickers, you can do with them what you want, and place them where you want. its an illusion. its a good small trick. A few turns before tossing it up solved all but one side. the side he showed us was a side he had modified.

i know how to solve the cube its done layer by layer from the bottom up. its impossible to have one side unsolved while the rest are. instead he has a spring loaded one. if you look closely he is holding it like he has to keep it restrained. thats because he actually does lol. if he lets go it will solve itself. so when he throws it up the tention must be released at the springs inside solve it. just thought id clear that up lol. but yess i agree. veryyy lame

If you pop out the pieces from another bue so that the white side will be mucked up. The cube was one move away from completion, after he did that tiny 4 turn movement, (like pogobat's Ri,Di,R,D) he will have put everything else into place hence cupping his hands, and then tossing it into the air and catching it, he then didn't show the still mucked up white side.

The thing is that when he said "like so" showing us how to fiddle with the cube he has already solved 5 of the 6 faces of the cube, after throwing it he made sure not showing us the unsolved face that he's constantly showing us before the toss.

you might wonder if a Rubik's cube can be made so, well you can always rearrange the stickers as you wish ;)

I think the rubiks cube is spring loaded. Once you let go it automatically spins back to its solved position.

Clues to this: When he turns the cube he is careful not to let those edges go. It actually looks quite unnatural.

Secondly, If you listen carefully you can hear the internal mechanism still whirring AFTER he's caught it.

Here's how you REALLY do it:

Buy a few extra stickers, and put them on the white side to make it look messed up. Then, before you show it to the audience, you make 4 or 5 turns, to make the rest of the cube look messed up as well.

Show it to the audience, (make sure the white side faces toward them,) and reverse the turns you made a second ago. This will solve the cube, except the white side will still look messed up because of the stickers. (Notice how he doesn't show you the other sides once he starts turning it.)

Then you just toss it in the air and make sure that they don't see the side with the stickers after you catch it. No video editing necessary. :)

Try learning the secret before making assumptions. :p
