Oh, I also forgot to say that I'm very sorry for your loss. I've owned cats my whole life and it's never easy to say goodbye. The best thing we can do, as pet owners, is spend as much quality time with our pet(s) as much as possible and be there for them in the end when they are put down. Your cat looked very much like my black cat. Her name was Pooky and she had green eyes. God be with you. Take care of yourself.
I would never be able to have my cat put down while it still had any vigor left in it. And sometimes not even when it doesn't. I would NEVER put down a cat just because its old. My sister had a cat that was even hit by a car and lost a leg, and it lived many more healthy happy years. And when one of her cat had cancer, it was living happily for years. She only had him put down when he'd gotten bad enough to stop eating and just hid and slept all day long and was clearly on his way out.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm crying like crap right now. But let's all remember to always keep a smiling face for they're always in a better place after leaving here :)

It doesnt feel it is a right thing to decide an animal's life end. You cant decide when is he or she will die. It doesnt feel right. If you have son or daughter can you do the same thing? Other way if your cat is really sick maybe you can save from pain but i dont know. I always being sad when i hear or see something like that. I feel like cry. :(

I had the opportunity to have him put to sleep when it first started but I gave him one more week and tried everything in my power to heal him (as I had many times in the past). I called the vet and she said they could hang on for quite some time but be in intense pain. I do believe he did "ask" me to let him go....and I did...and it hurt, but now I'm glad I helped him avoid all that pain.
I had to go through this exact same thing with three separate dogs over the years. A fourth dog was hit by a car, and as I carried her in my arms, she looked straight up into my eyes and died as our eyes were locked. I saw the light go out of her eyes. I'm sorry about Kia. I know your pain. It's something we never get over. Hugs to Mom Pj.

My cat seemed happy and fine the day he died, and two minutes after I played with him, he swatted at my hand, meowed like he was in pain, and threw up blood. You can't really read animals, not unless you have a deep connection. I always knew something was wrong with my cat, but.. I was childish, and held onto him for as long as I could, until I realized I had to let go..
Bless ur heart, i had to put down my little baby Blue, who wasn't yet 3 years old, and it was such a difficult thing to do, i cried for months afterwards...it's been 8 years, and i still get teary eyed thinking of him...they bring such undconditional love into our lives
i had the same cat and she talked to me alot her name was MinMin she died May 2nd 2011 the day osama bin laden died it was heart breaking her brother is still depresed i miss her so much and it is so hard to live without my Minmin. It's always so hard to do what needs to be done. You desperataly want to keep your beloved pets with you but you know it's only hurting them. I don't even like cats, but I took him home and kept him because the only alternative was the humane society where 95% of stray cats brought in are put down. You do know that tumors don't hurt that badly and cats show pain by finding a nice quiet corner and curling up....this cat wasn't in pain. 90% of vets are quacks and don't understand when an animal is actually in pain....and some people put cats down just because they don't want them...and are you looking for attention that badly? Why would you put this on Youtube?
@kittiesd07 You can't always tell just by looking at a cat, they don't show pain nearly as easily as, say, people or dogs. I had to... lose Binky because he had a cancerous tumor, but you'd have never known he was in pain unless you spent a lot of time around cats and could see the subtle signs.
Your description is so true, My cat became very ill today, she's going to the vet tomorrow, (HOpeuflly they'll say it's just a little cold) But she seems very sick. I hope this isn't my last goodbye.
Cat's are nortorious for not showing pain. My cat Snoopy starting losing wieght fast, that's how we found out she was sick. Even the day before she died she was chasing the other cats and enjoying her tuna, which we gave her everyday when we found out there was nothing left to do. The vet gave me liquid pain meds for her and we were able to hospice at home.Her final day was quick, no pain and able to die in bed with her moma telling her "I love you."
The only thing I can think is that they found out Kia had an advance stage of cancer, and they knew it was too late to save her. Since cats don't show they're in pain, we wouldn't know and they're going to end her pain sooner rather than later.
That is soooo sad, when i was reading ur letter i started to tear up. I was also wondering why did u hve to put her down she looked perfectly fine. Again sooo sad. :(
my dog got hit by a car like in the fall last year i think and the moron who hit him kept going didnt even stop we all rushed outside and all u see is cute lil charlie sittin there in the road there was lots of traffic everyone gettin out of there cars we took em to the vet and he was hurt on his head (sorry fot bad spelling iwas crying) and the vet was down the street so atleast he died close to me
Its sad to loose a special friend. Just think of the good times you have had with her. and when you feel alone and sad remember that she is with you in spirit. Remember it is not goodbye forever it is "see you again" I know you loved her alot and im sorry but i hope that special memory's of her can cheer you up when you feel sad.
I feel for you it's very hard when a decision has to be made and don't feel you have to explain your situation on here to please others or make them feel better you know what happenned and that's all that moments your last moments with her were very touching and special xx
some cats don't show pain. also your cat never leaves your side you may never see her or feel her but she's there. that's what happened to mine when we put my cat down. he showed that he was there. look for little signs a noise that can't be explained, ripped kleenex etc.

My cat has been missing for over a month now and she looked and sounded just like yours...I'm only assuming she is gone for good and this really hurt to watch.

@angelicnature1 I found a cat at work that had been thrown from a car - he wasn't injured, just scared. I don't even like cats, but I took him home and kept him because the only alternative was the humane society where 95% of stray cats brought in are put down. When the day comes I'll be sure he goes in dignity and comfort. That's all we can do for them.

I'm so sorry for your loss. My cat died a month ago. We knew something was up because she usally runs away when you tried to pet her, but then she would just sit there and let you pet her. Then one day there was puke all over the house. My sister went to go open mt moms window and stepped in her. My cat Princess looked just like Kia. R.I.P. Princess and Kia. Miss you.

this made me remeber my dying dog that i took to the vet and wen we put him in his house the next day he was at the back of the house while my dad was looking for him while i watched him get picked up and buried. R.I.P lucky . your always loved

You do know that tumors don't hurt that badly and cats show pain by finding a nice quiet corner and curling up....this cat wasn't in pain. 90% of vets are quacks and don't understand when an animal is actually in pain....and some people put cats down just because they don't want them...and are you looking for attention that badly? Why would you put this on Youtube?

@kittiesd07 You can't always tell just by looking at a cat, they don't show pain nearly as easily as, say, people or dogs. I had to... lose Binky because he had a cancerous tumor, but you'd have never known he was in pain unless you spent a lot of time around cats and could see the subtle signs.

Your description is so true, My cat became very ill today, she's going to the vet tomorrow, (HOpeuflly they'll say it's just a little cold) But she seems very sick. I hope this isn't my last goodbye.

Cat's are nortorious for not showing pain. My cat Snoopy starting losing wieght fast, that's how we found out she was sick. Even the day before she died she was chasing the other cats and enjoying her tuna, which we gave her everyday when we found out there was nothing left to do. The vet gave me liquid pain meds for her and we were able to hospice at home.Her final day was quick, no pain and able to die in bed with her moma telling her "I love you."

The only thing I can think is that they found out Kia had an advance stage of cancer, and they knew it was too late to save her. Since cats don't show they're in pain, we wouldn't know and they're going to end her pain sooner rather than later.

my dog got hit by a car like in the fall last year i think and the moron who hit him kept going didnt even stop we all rushed outside and all u see is cute lil charlie sittin there in the road there was lots of traffic everyone gettin out of there cars we took em to the vet and he was hurt on his head (sorry fot bad spelling iwas crying) and the vet was down the street so atleast he died close to me

some cats don't show pain. also your cat never leaves your side you may never see her or feel her but she's there. that's what happened to mine when we put my cat down. he showed that he was there. look for little signs a noise that can't be explained, ripped kleenex etc.
