Why is there a border separating dominican republic from haiti its the same island of hispaniola. I think the whole idea of separating the darker people from the lighter mixed people is silly. I never hear dominicans acknowledge their haitian ancestry they always say I'm Dominican but where did dominican republic come from? Dr was actually (ayiti) haiti before it became Dominican Republic.
