  • OK OK I GET IT ITS A BASSOON!

  • White men can't dance.

  • @biotoxin21

    Actually it's a bassoon.

  • @biotoxin21 actually it's a Bassoon

  • @biotoxin21 Bassoon?

  • what instrument is the red horn?

  • @frogbelly87 Bassoon

  • @frogbelly87 Bassoon

  • @frogbelly87 That's a bassoon, not an oboe. Both are double reed instruments. Don't ever hear a bassoon played like that - great!

  • 2:56 Go YALE!!!

  • Wow those hand drums are so resonant.. really dig that sound a lot with the banjo. How in the world does he make their pitch change like that?

  • awesome, hehe i was waitin for the tabla part and bang it came

  • THE MUSIC DONE TURNED THE KIDS TO ZOMBIES! AWESOME!

  • I'VE GOT BLISTERS ON ME FINGERS!

  • @joaonvf Search for "Bela Fleck introducing the band" and watch that. It'll answer all of your questions.

  • glad to hear this musical conversation... incredible.

  • Victor is a fookin BASS GOD!

  • Not putting anyone down or anything, I love bela fleck and the flecktones. Some of their fanbase are really weird though.

  • wow!

  • I wannabe tabla dude.

  • an electric banjo with devil horns.

    amazing

  • i must have watched this video 50 times. I gotta say, I'm a musician, been doing it for 20 years. That's long enough to know that there is something disgusting in being as good as these guys are.

  • omg...where else do you see a bassoon played like this??!! too bloody beautiful.

  • @Octospidr Do a search for the Mingus Epitaph concert and look for video of "Wolverine Blues". One of the woodwind players plays four or five great choruses of blues on the bassoon.

  • I like 0:01-10:21

  • god damn that was awesome.

  • This hereby proves that four stringed instruments are the best. Bass and Banjo <3

  • @BecMongolianChopSqua Banjo's got 5 strings...

  • Like Emerson Lake and Palmer *__*

  • these are fukin cool. that indian guys class

  • Get this indian dude a chair.......

  • @travelteam89 chair would make his playing uncomfortable ;)

  • bassoon solo O__O

  • Anyone know what DVD this is off of?

  • Its from the dvd Live At The Quick

  • @RattleheadIV "Live at the quick .".brilliant ! Get it on their web site!

  • if aliens came down to earth and gave us one band to listen to to judge our fate this would be the guys for sure love them

  • Futureman's brother, the band's bassist, Victor Wooten, is one of the baddest bass players in the world. This piece, Hoedown is an orchestral piece "written" by Aaron Copeland, which was taken note for note from a recording at the Library of Congress done by some hillbilly fiddler in the South that he called called "Napoleon Bonypart." FYI.

  • @rockdrumr429 bonypart lol thats cool story thanks

  • this is freakin awesom!

  • Lmao no offense but white people can't dance XD

  • @Masamuneblader dude.. never generalize.. just because almost all the audience in there doesnt dance pretty well.. doesnt means that any white can dance :D

  • You are right, there is only a few hundred white people on this planet ^^

  • this probably is a dumb question, but where the hell is the drummer?

i see a drumset, i hear drums, yet no drummer..

    great music

  • watch from 9:00 to the end of the video. He's holding what could be called the drumset. Its called a Drumitar by roland and he's the only one in the world that uses it. He's also the bass players brothers and plays a real drumset as well.

  • @biotoxin21 ya his names future man, saw him live with vvictor wooten

  • @biotoxin21 It's a custom instrument, not made by roland.

Zendrum is a company currently making a commercial product based on the same technology.

  • @biotoxin21 Almost. The Drumitar is something he invented according to Wikipedia and was built on a modified SynthAxe previously owned by Lee Ritenour

  • he's playing the drumitar. he made it himself.

he's on the right side of the stage, behind the cymbals and stuff.

  • See the guy on the far right dressed like a pirate and playing what appears to be a guitar-shaped children's toy? His name is Roy Wooten, a.k.a. Futureman. He's playing a Synthaxe Drumitar, an instrument he invented that plays different drum loops by tapping with the fingers on specific parts of the apparatus (it's color coded if you haven't noticed).

  • its a drumitar. just look for a "guitar" with buttons on it xD

  • yeah thanks! I read about it, sounds cool, but freakishly weird to play...

  • Synth-axe Drumitar!

  • the guy all the way to right is there drummer.....but he mostly plays an instrument he created called the drumitar....which is played like a guitar but makes drum sounds

  • I love Futureman!

  • @joaonvf dude! it's the instument (don't know the name of that thing) of the black guy playing near the guy with the banjo.

  • @joaonvf Its victor wooten's brother who invented the drumitar if i am correct, fits pretty well

  • @joaonvf its reggie wooten with the thing hes holding, not sure what its called but its pretty much just a drum machine.

  • @deege10 Its called the 'Drumitar'

  • @deege10 Roy "Future Man" Wooten. Regi is a guitarist.

  • @joaonvf The dummer is right next to Bela at 9:05... playing this "synthaxe"... Futureman!

  • Why do I get the feeling he's cussing me in Rythmese?

  • lol

  • BAHAHAH White boys can't dance.

Holy damn this song is fucking eargasmic.

  • lol good I'm not the only one that noticed and yeah audiogasms throughout!

  • hit the bassoon-bong to this

  • The indian guy did a little seminar at our school. Watta baller. This performance is comprable to Allman Brothers

  • It's not Emerson, Lake, and Palmer's "Hoedown," it's Aaron Copland's "Hoedown." ELP was as much a cover as is Fleck. It is pretty awesome, though, thanks for uploading!

  • Holy fucking cuntblasters that bassoon player is my hero.

  • @rockrhapsody123 I knowwhat you mean man. They are all so amazing, I listen to this video almost every day!

  • Amazing, thanks for uploading.
