Most of all, you have been helpful fot the speaking and the writing sections :)

everyone here should follow your advices

  • Hey Joseph,

I watched your videos in last second because I was so scared of the speaking part and my training didn't work. But thanks to your help I got 28 in speaking and 103 overall! Thank you so much for these videos! They are really helpful! I will recommend it to my friends!

  • I will take it today !! hahaha

  • hi.. I am going to take the Toefl test very soon...thanks for this kind of videos with a lot of tips...

  • I have problem with the listening section. It's hard to listen and at the same time take notes. I can't concentrate on doing two things at the same time. What should I do? If I don't take note, I would forget. If I take notes, I don't listen to the whole speech. Help me please-

  • Hello Joseph, I just received my score. Thanks to the advices in your video's. I got 112/120 (28+30+27+27). I just want to let all future test takers know that it is do-able if you, just as Joseph says, practice. The tips for speaking and writing worked out very well.

  • @bartvano First of all, congrats for your score! Second, I wanted to ask you something, since you recently took the exam. Are the questions from the actual test exactly as those in Joseph's examples, or at least similar?

    Thank you and good luck!

  • @IIrinaP

The examples given in the videos are very similar to the actual Toefl test. There are many practice videos on youtube. Really the Toefl test is do-able if you practice a lot.

  • Hey Joseph! Yesterday I saw my results -112: 29 30 26 27 =)) I would like to thank you for the great videos! I followed your speaking and writting tips. To all TOEFL takers - go through the videos carefully, practise the startegies and you can expect great results. Good luck!

  • Hey Joseph, i received my TOEFL result. I got 77 out of 120.. i could have done way better..I've always been good in writing essays and speaking, have spoken with many foreigners and all of them admired at my English. But i have a problem, i can not focus on the Reading section.. Don't know what's wrong with me.. Same thing with the Listening section, i did worst on it... Anyways, I'd like to express my gratitude to your Speaking and Writing tips. And to all future test takers - use more idioms!

  • Hello Joseph.I have just received my results and it is 75 (i needed 80). First of all, i haven't slept the night before (not even an hour). Second, my reading was too low. I thought, it is the easiest part for me (in fact i did way better at home) but ... . Anyway, i will take pbt(paper-based) toefl soon and i would like to know if you have any tips for reading section.

  • @khajvah1 Hi there. I'm sorry to hear that you had a difficult time with the last exam. We'd love to provide you with some help with the reading section. Please send us a quick email (jmiranda@notefull.com) and we'll get you started.

  • Thank you, Joseph! Everything said in this video is true. Me gusta!!

  • I would like to thank you for all your kind advise, it was really helpful. I got 107 in Toefl iBT with 26 in speaking.

  • Thank you sir for your valuable tips, especially for the speaking and writing sections. They were a great help. I just followed your tutorials for speaking and writing and scored a 116 in the iBT.

  • Hi there Joseph, i sat TOEFL today, your notes really helped me, especially on the writing section. I got a bit confused on the speaking section but i hope i will get some points for what i've spoken. Anyways, my question is how is the TOEFL exam graded? Does each section give you 30 points? Oh, and one more thing, the reading section had around 52 question or something and lasted 120 minutes which took me aback. I thought the reading section was 1 hour with 39 question.

  • @92hardstyler Hi there. Each of the six speaking tasks are rated from 0 to 4. The sum is converted to a scaled score of 0 to 30. Also, the reading exam will usually contain 4 passages (14 questions for each) and you'll have 20 minutes to complete each passage. Unfortunately, three passages is actually rare. I hope this clears things up!

  • Sir, I watched your videos two years ago, back when I was preparing for TOEFL.

After preparing for two weeks, and following your tips diligently, I scored a 116 out of 120.

Well, I need to take the TOEFL again, in two days from now. Though I have very little time to prepare for the exam, I am confident that your tips will help me again.

    Sincerely,

    Kapil

  • thanks a lot for your help !! I wasn't that prepared for the test but your tips really helped me to raise the final score, specially in the speaking section.. I needed 100 and got 102.. thank you again! Rodrigo, Brazil.

  • Thanks Mr. Joseph. Your videos helped me get a 29 (used to get a 22) on Speaking, bumping my score up to 115. :)

  • THANK YOU JOSEPH!!!!!!! You are the best; i just got my scores!!!!

    102

    Listening 28

    Reading 26

    Speaking 23

    Writing 25

    SERIOUSLY, Trust this videos 120%!!!

  • please advice me

    what should i take

    did you buy any products

  • Greetings professor. I was wondering if I am able to take my notes that I've written in my notebook in the test ? I've written down all the tips that You gave to us :) I'd be very thankful if You'll reply to my message . Greetings

  • @ilirosq Hi there. Unfortunately, you will not be allowed to bring any notes into the examination room. The best thing to do would be to try your best to memorize the structures for each question and write them down on your scratch paper that the examiner will provide. Good luck!

  • i got the mark that i needed in the exam! I´m very grateful because without your help it hadn´t been possible. Thanks you very much Joseph! :D I send you a big hug from spain!

  • thanks a lot for you video lessons! I only had couple of days to get ready for speaking section and all I could in the beginning was say hmmmmm and ahhhhh after every word. your videos helped me to get 26 after two days of practice! thank you for that! I should have paid more attention to what you said about writing though. I practice a lot, followed clear structure, introduction, thesis, three paragraphs with examples, I was confident about, but I got only 21(( the only guess is word quantity(

  • Hey, I got a 113 on the iBT. Thanks Joseph, these videos were really helpful. Great job man!

  • Thank you very much man!! I took my TOEFL a few month ago. I'm sorry for thanking you so late. I remembered your great videos/teaching lessons just right now when a friend asked me for some TOEFL advice. Had to recommend you! I watched all of your viedeos and they helped me amazingly!!! Thanks, great teacher!!

  • Thank you a lot for your videos, they really helped me feel more confident on a test and everything worked just like you expained. I got 110 on my test and 27 in a Speaking part which is above any expectations.

  • @helterskelterbayoba Good luck! We're glad you found the videos really useful.

  • You are always giving two examples on question 1 and 2, my book says it's better to give three examples. Is two really enough?

  • Great effort and very useful tips! Thanks, Mr. Joseph!

  • Got 111 in TOEFL with 26 in speaking. Thanks for the tips Joseph, I shall definately recommend these videos to future TOEFL takers :)

  • @Utothell Thanks! We really apreciate it when others recomend our teaching methods to others.

  • @NoteFulldotcom I followed your tips ..however i was speaking a little fast coz i was nervous ..and i fnished speaking about 4-5 seconds before the recording ended. .do you think ill lose marks for that?

  • @TheKickAss93 It's common for some people to speak faster when they are nervous; don't worry. Also, we usually recommend that our students finish a couple seconds before the timer runs out. It shows that we have better control over our responses. However, if you finished early because you didn't go into detail, then there might be a problem. Let's just remember that we should try to provide enough content, but be able to control the amount of time it takes to deliver that content as well.

  • @TheKickAss93 I think the content was fine ..thanks a lot ! Your doing a brilliant job sir :)

  • Thank you Notefull ur lects they helped me very much during my preperations....

Gave my TOEFL on 21st...... scored 107 all courtesy Notefull thnk u very mch:)

  • Thank u so much for this lecture! this is dope!

  • I received a score of 105 (my speaking score is 22, but it was because I watched your clips only a few days before the test and was too lazy to practice more). Your templates were so accurate and they helped me a lot! Thank you Joseph :D

  • This is so awesome! Good Job

  • Dude u r the best. Sad, i found your clipping only 3 days before my exam. So i concentrated on speaking alone .. Scored 28 in speaking. U r the best around man. Total score "100"....

  • I thank you a lot,,, i went through your videos b4 the test.. n i got a good score in speaking section(27) god bless you!

  • Hi Joshep, first let me thank u for the videos, you made an amazin job. However, I would recommend you that you make a new tuturial from question 1. When I took the test, the firs question ask me to give a suggestion to one of my friends about his/her decision and one of my friends was was asked to give a negative response. I hope you consider my suggestion..!XD

  • thanks a lot. I followed only your videos for the exam and I scored 108. These videos are really helpful. Thanks a lot !!

  • May Allah bless this work . Great video!

  • Thank you so much! With just two weeks of preparation I managed the much needed score of 106 :) R-28, L-27, S-26 and W-25. I would have have failed in S & W section without your able guidance. • @DEEPA67792 ; congarats deepa.... how did you manage to get speaking score of 29? apart from this video watching? my score still be 23 dont know how to improve...?

  • Hello Joseph, I scored 28 on speaking only because of you. Although my overall score is low, but your video and tips were encouraging.

    Thanks so much

  • i have a doubt !!!!

in q3 &q4 do v have to speak out the passage loudly or read it for ourselves??

  • hi Professor Joseph, I have a question. I am using your format to for the speaking section. Now that i am good at the first speaking question i realise that i finish 6 sec beofre the stopclock finishes. Is that okay. I mean in this video you use the entire time till the stopwatch stiops.

    asha

Thanks for reading my comment and i appreacite it if you could reply soon!

  • So what if the question asks about eg. "the characteristics of a son/daughter" .. In my answer part, do i give just one with two reasons as u have explained? Or do i give two or more, and if so with how many reasons each?

    Please help

  • thank you very much , is very useful .

  • Thank you a lot for all your postings! This is all I had to study for the test, plus the Sampler they give you when you register for the test. So I got a 106, and I am so proud and so thankful! Your videos helped me a lot!

  • L- 29 take as much notes as you can... i got asked what happend 200millions years ago and then what happened 400million years ago...

S- 28 I have to say my timing was not the best, when i noticed i had only left 10 secs or so, i rushed case i hadnt said much. (followed the structure u gave ex: response example, example and conclusion.)

W- followed your structure 4 paragraphs... intro, 2 for developing and conslusion. both of them were over 450 words each.

    THANK YOU!

    this is GREAT!

  • Hey Joseph! I scored 93! So I can now postulate to my school!! But... I only got 19 on reading and the minium is 21 per exam parts... But in total, I've got more than the required score so... Do you think they're going to accept me?!

Thanks a lot for the videos,

    All the best.

  • Hola!!!!! I have to say I only used the material you have posted online to study for the TOEFL exam, and I did it the day before as I had no idea which was the structure of the test. For each question you posted/video I took notes.... (during the test i had a global idea of what was going to happen in each section, and the most importan thing what to expect.)

    Results: 112 !!!! I couldnt believe it!

    R-27

    L-29

    S-28

W-28 I followed your advice and i think both of my essays were over 450 words

  • Hi Mr. Joseph! I am about to take my Toefl test the end of this month and I want to thank you beforehand for all you marvelous job so far. Yo have been giving us excellent material and support throughout this time and everything absolutely for FREE! God, help me to succeed in one more goal in my life!

    Thanks a lot!

  • I would really like to extend my gratitude towards Mr. Joseph, a great teacher. My TOEFL score; R -24, L-27, S-30 & W-24.

R- I sould've done better if I didnt drink a bottle mineral water before exam. I end up squeezing my knees together throughout the reading section.

L- It's all about note taking!

W- I think test takers need to work on typing skills coz I did a lot of spelling mistakes due to moderate typing skills.

S- Well, I owe it all to you Mr. Joseph, you're the best!

  • @Jevandrix Could you please provide me with some advice with taking notes for the listening section, because sometimes I tend to take many notes that are quiet superfluous and it confuses me.

  • @MrGabeBoi Hi, what I did was quite simple... It works for me, I did a pathmap I jotted down points, but in sequential order (with pointed arrows) , relative to the lecture.. I did end up with a lot of points in some occasions, but the relations between each points holds it together and preserves the flow of the lecture for us. So when u answer the question u got the confidence because your pathmap represents the whole lecture.... It really works if you... PRACTICE!PRACTICE!PRACTICE! goodluck

  • @Jevandrix don't complain your score is almost perfect. I wish I had a score like yours

  • hi joseph, i heard that ets made some changes in the format of the speaking question, like it is more open ended compared to the previous sample questions. like for ex." your friend told u that she wants to quit school and find a full time job, do u support her decision? give your reason and example to support your opinion", i mean what is the format in answering an open ended question like that? thanks for your helpful videos.

  • Thanks it was very useful i scored 110 because of your website and free classes thanks

  • wow! great help :) thanks a ton!!

  • Oh. Great video. You provided a fabulous guide for me. Thank you sooooooooooooooooooooooooo much. Joseph

  • Thank you soooooooooooooooo much. Joseph

  • hi, your tips are very helpfull,ur way of explaination is very good.

i heared that from february 2010, little changes are made in toefl, is this is a new formate??

  • Hi, just got my score last friday, September 10,2010. R-24,L27, S27,W27 total of 105. I just watched your videos and used the phrases and templates you provided in your website. It was my first attempt to take the exam and my preparation was only 2 weeks. I'm happy that i got a high score. Thanks a lot Joseph. You're example and explanation are pretty accurate. Keep up the good work.

  • HELP: please anyone tell me if WE ARE GOING TO HEAR OUR OWN VOICE DURING SPEAKING SECTION? I MEAN ITS HORRIBLE FOR ME TO BE DEAF AND TALK! SO DO THE SOFTWARE ECHO OUR VOICE OR SHOW THE MIC ON? in one my of experiences I had it, but the other place's admin. is saying it's not going to be like that!!

  • @numb20072007 I'm not sure if I understand your question. But, yes you can tell when the microphone is on and no, it doesn't exactly echo your voice. The screen shows you when it's time to speak and a bar goes from full to empty as your time counts down. I hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions. Good luck as well!

  • @NoteFulldotcom :Dear Joseph, I mean that when you are speaking with the headsets on, because ETS headsets are designed to suppress the environmental noise, they will make you feel like a deaf person! for me, it is not a good feeling that I can not speak well with no feedback of what I'm saying! It is like that one has put hands on your ears and you must speak.

  • @NoteFulldotcom: PART2 OF MY REPLY: In my TOEFL experiences, the center was like that in the speaking section, the software let you hear your own voice only when it was recording you (in the 45sec), but the admin of the other center is saying NO, it won't let you hear your own voice. I was wondering to ask if in standards, the software of the ets will echo your own voice during the 45sec of speaking or not. Hope I could explain it well.

  • Thanks a lot. Your video was really helpful, I'm taking the test within a month and I'm really scared of speaking. Are there anymore important tips that we should know? And thanks again :)

  • @MoeAzizBadawi Here's one tip. During your 10 minute break before the speaking section, practice an example of question 1. Do one that you know how to do perfectly. That way you'll warm up, review, and have a positive feeling going into the speaking section, especially after sitting down for 2 + hours without saying a word. Good luck!

  • @NoteFulldotcom Joseph, you rock! I just saw your u tube videos and prepared for speaking...I got a 28! Here is how I approached...I understood the patterns and I wrote all those patterns down on scrap paper when i got time during listening section. So I had everything ready and I just had to fill in blank and make good sentences. I used your start and finish and rest penned down myself..Thanks a ton again! BTW..My score is 113(R 25, L 30, S 28, W 30). If ne 1 need any help msg back i will reply

  • @NoteFulldotcom hello,am taking toefl exam next month and i get really nervous and my brain stops working when i get to the speaking part.i tried coming up with reasons quickly but i just freeze n lose track. :( how do i overcome this?do u have any tips?

  • @tiaahuja It's very common to be nervous! However, being prepared and aware of the format and types of questions helps. Also, deep breathing exercises help to relieve tension and relax. Good luck!

  • Thank you sooo much! My score in the speaking section was 20!! =)

  • all ur videos are sooooooo super helpful..!!!! thanks a ton!!!!

  • Hi, your suggestions are very good.

They'll help me form my toefl exam thanks
