I started using a reddish background after reading a book called success in oils. It teaches oil painting basics using the plein air technique. Now im hooked. Compared to a white background your painting really seems to come alive with each brushstroke.
I notice that you have only 2 videos. I would love to see more. I am glad that we as artists stick togather and don't cut each other down but try to learn from each other. I have not any videos at this time but hope to be as good as you are and maybe some time I can do the same as you.

Nice. Do watch your edges though. Check out the shadowy parts near the bottom of the building to the right of the window. Soft. No edges at all.
