Bought this game not knowing what to expect. I haven't played any games since Sonic CD sometime around the early 2000s. I was pleasantly surprised, people told me the series was dead, etc. If Sega's making games like this, it's pretty far from dead.

@bleeduntildeath Game Informer, i think. It was in response to someone else's comment about a certain site giving it a low rating. I didn't waste my time checking ratings, i figured game raters were being biased as usual and giving a good game a terribad rating as they usually do.

Perhaps mainstream reviewers are biased, but Sonic fans really need to take off the nostalgia glasses and see Generations for what it really is: A so-so game.

As someone who owns the game I can tell you it has many huge flaws that often outweigh the strong points.

I'm not saying the game itself is bad, it's just too flawed for me to consider it a good deal at retail price. I also own a Wii and Sonic Colors, and despite the nice bump in image quality, the content is just so little in Generations in comparison.

I was just being honest; this game thrives too much on recycled gameplay and fan nostalgia as an excuse for incredibly little content, After DS Colors I would have expected that from the handheld version, but as a console game it's just too lacking to be a good buy at retail price, whether you like it or not.

Once again, I don't think the game is bad, but people have to admit that 12 stages and a handful of bosses isn't exactly huge in the content department, even for a Sonic game, and that citing gameplay as the game's strongest point isn't exactly the best idea either since it isn't anything 2006 didn't achieve and that Colors didn't perfect; as well as that nostalgia often blinds people's judgement.
