  • :D wonderful

  • damn fine!

  • Doesn't matter what instrument you play if your musiciianship and soul is a s good as this.

  • Are you using standard GCEA tuning?

  • @scoutniagara: No, on this uke I use D tuning: aDF#B. I think it's sounds better for the short scale length of this pineapple.

  • Love what you did with WBB!! Been playing with fiddlers, and this gives me hope I can play a uke with them...eventually. Please post more when possible.

  • @dulcimerginny: Thanks!

  • thanks for the upload. took me awhile to get this down but i got it now.

  • I really enjoy these vids you have posted here. I wish you would post more.

  • soothing very relaxing...I am a fan of yours...

  • wonderful!

  • heres a hello from Thailand!

i'd admire how you play this song so delighted.

wish one day i could play it too :]]]

  • @Nhamkhiing Hi! Thanks very much for the kind comment!

  • @crankyjew: It's actually a piece of that cloth you put under a small floor rug to keep it from slipping. You can get it cheap at Lowe's or Home Depot. I cut out a small piece and use it to help hold the uke in place and keep it from sliding off my leg. It's an old trick, just using new materials. Cheers!

  • @MercurialAndQuixotic That's a GREAT idea!

  • @MadLine09 Thanks, haha! I learned this song by ear and then added a few bits so I don't have a tab now, sorry. Can you recommend a good tool to create one?

  • @MercurialAndQuixotic powertab is a good tool to use

  • @MercurialAndQuixotic Yeah I'd love to see it tabbed as well. I guess you could use this bass guitar template and just change it to uke tuning. Kind of time consuming replacing all those dashes with numbers, but I guess that's how it's done.

  • Wow that is simply fantastic! Did you record the backing track with the same uke or was it a different one? What kind of gear do you use for that?

  • @scoett Hi and thanks for the kind words! Yes, I'm playing the same uke on the rhythm track. I recorded the other track using Audacity (the free download) and the built in mic on my laptop. Then I just played it back while I recorded the lead on my camera. Super low-tech, I know... ;-D Thanks!

  • Hi! i'll receive in a few days a new Vivace pinneaple uke (the first all solid andiroba pineapple uke made in my country, Brazil). How is the best strings for a pineapple soprano?

    Thanks for this great sound!

  • @fabiopontarolo1: Hi, I'm using Aquila Nylgut strings on this pineapple. They are my favorites. Try them! Thanks!

  • Your are fantastic. I have been playing for a couple years, but I am no where near your talent. Could you send me the tabs or sheet music? I would like to try this song. Again fantastic.

  • Yeehaw! I must have played this video 500 times in the last year and never tire of it, outstanding, I would love to see you post a lot more bro! You lift my spirits and put a grin on my face every time. :D

Best version or "Whiskey" I have ever heard hands down; high five and five stars.

  • @Puptart2 : Thanks very much!!

  • shredding like hendrix but on a uke.....

  • dude your amazing i love this song who made this?

  • Thanks! It's a traditional fiddle tune.

  • Awesome. In the world of pineapples, do you prefer Koaloha or Kamaka?

  • Having owned both, I would definitely vote for the Koaloha. It's much more full and rich sounding. Louder too. Cheers!

  • This is one of the best things I've seen done on a Uke! Honestly? I have watched this 10 times today. Great post and you have other good posts! Thanks for sharing and keep up the awesome work!

  • Thanks very much for the kind words!!

  • Nice and clean - almost sounds like a mandolin. I have a question, are you in standard GCEA high "G" tuning or an open style tuning? Thanks! Johnny Pal of MangoDaville.

  • Hi Johnny, the tuning is ADF#B. Exactly the same intervals between the strings as GCEA (fourths), but each string is tuned two half-steps higher. I like this tuning on a soprano uke -- it increases the volume and adds a nice treble tone overall. Best, Bob

  • Yes, it really does sound crisp. Mahalo, Johnny

  • fantastic!!!!

  • Hey, this is an awesome song and I have a pineapple ukulele too! It's a Lanikai. I just started learning to play this summer and I'm trying to learn this by ear, so I'm watching this video over and over again, but I can't get one part down. The first time you do it is at 0:43 and it ends at 0:47. Would you mind telling me what you did there? =)

  • Hi Darhyru! What I'm doing there is a run of double-stops, that is, playing 2 strings at a time. There are 8 pairs of notes in the run. Starting on the top 2 strings, play 87, 75, 53, 33, 10. Then on the middle 2 strings: 43, 21, 00. (The numbers in each pair are the frets at which to play the notes. So, "87" means "8th fret on the 2nd string and 7th fret on the top string", etc.) I hope that helps, let me know if it doesn't make sense!

  • wow i love it thanks josexara what kind of uk is that

  • Thanks! It's a Koaloha soprano pineapple ukulele. Love it!

  • super ce son 5*****

  • Merci beaucoup pour ton commentaire! Salut!

  • is this song hard to learn?

  • Thanks gblan!!

  • Wow! Fabulous.

  • This ukulele is a soprano so just regular strings work fine -- I just tighten them up to D tuning. I also have one of my tenor ukes tuned in D, but for that I do use a lighter string so as not to put too much tension on the neck. Thanks!

  • do you just use regular strings to do D tuning? or do you have to use lower gage strings?
