Thanks Rushworshiper92 , it's a 52 broadcaster ! the marshall is not the perfect amp but is ok you can still getting the sound. i don't use any pedal or fx when i play country, just the guitar and the amp, maybe you could use a bit of compressor... of course for country and blues i would recommend you the best amps called "beteramp" heheh, best wishes .

@PACARTNEY You must be shittin me, i use a Marshall with my 52 Tele, and i do 200 gig's a year with it, and all i get is praise for my tone, everywhere i go, and only effects i use is compression and volume pedal, dont diss the Marshall's for country.

@celtno1 that means that you are a great guitarist mate, as i said, of course you can get a very decent country tone out of a marshall but for my taste is not the best amp for it. I know to say this here in England where 75% of guitarists are using marshalls is almost a sin hahah, Marshalls are great and unique for other styles. Even if you plug a Ibanez steve vai into a behringer mixer will sound country if you are a good player. Best wishes mate and keep rockin'

@PACARTNEY Well, i had people on the country circuit scoffing when they see me set up with a Marshall, but gobs are soon shut when it gets played, just like you said, it's not the gear you use, but how you use it, i use a simple set up, and it always wins me praise, no need to spend silly money on FX and flashy messa boogies, then! you'll know that. keep pickin dude.

I've been playing for about a year now and learned all the Hank Williams songs, a bit of Merle, and some others. I'm interested in doing some Dwight Yoakam now and I'm thinking about moving on to a telecaster. Can you play a telecaster without a pick or will I have to reinvent my style?

sourcehacker, i'm using just an amp and a standard SM-58 mic. nothing else, i do love the pure clean sound.

i myself prefer a little reverb, a little less delay the verb and just a hint of chorus xD

sorta like a recipe.

as for microphones, you should try this mic out, its called the snowball by the company Blue.

its got like three settings, you can get a lot better quality sound recordings with it for the guitar, vocals and other instruments xD

now, i know i sound like an ad, but im just saying its good. its good for studio quality recording.
