"-Huh? Sorry, what did you say? Sorry, I couldn't hear you, man. I was flushin' the toilet. Yeah, had to get rid of a real bad floater, man. Now, where were we? Oh yeah? Salary ! Right on, man"
good points but the problem is that the interviewer seldom make an appointment. In Australia which are the better sites to apply job for entry level jobs.
I once had to attend some stupid job seeking skills course, and they played us a documentry video of some young adults genuinely applying for jobs. There was this one kid who rang up from a call box and was asked his name, address etc. His address contained a really long street name, like Mountgloksorrelton Road, or something. The interviewer on the phone asked the dopey kid how to spell it and he replied "R-O-A.....". I nearly died from laughing.
I'm doing an interview on my lunch break in my office using my personal cell. If I use the land line it will come on caller id with my current company name. How else can I do this without taking the day off?
I am terrible at all kinds of interviews, either face to face or telephone interviews. I get so nervous, when I am speaking, I practically lose my breath. It probably sounds like I am searching for the truth. I am just so bad at it.
I like doing them with a voice modulator box set on the "Scream" voice and terrify them into hiring me. The only negative to that is if they try to play tough with you, you're going to need the costume and knife to back it up.
i agree with everyyything. But i dont think wearing that suit will help. Ill feel too dorky. Its easy to "pretend" though that you are wearing a suit. Next time, ill do like that last did you know fact. If they want a nice quiet place, were i can concentrate... Ill take the phone call while on the toilet. :)
@Miguel24Ramirez I do not wearing suits for phone interviews, but since I have to sound professional even on the phone, I am ready to try it. I already know about not flushing the toilet while I am receiving a call, I never tried it, it is so common sense.

I personally prefer in person interviews. Yeah you don't have the notes but you have time to prepare and can use proper body language.

The problem is not all employers will make a time for a phone interview. They just call you on the spot.

I disagree, if you know your value, be natural, exactly as you are and for the rest of your life you don't have to act someone else...

1:27 Sometimes? Phone interviews are how they narrow an applicant pool. Swift and cheap.

Majority of people are still working while applying for other jobs. It's a lot harder to find time and place to do an interview over the phone
