I discovered this song my senior year, and that harmony with Petty still gives me goosebumps 20 years later. Thumbs for music that make you feel good, no matter how old you get!
@lukeschennFTW It was KFOG in the Bay Area. I think now they have gone in an easy listening direction or something. Now we listen to The Bone mostly---they play classic rock sometimes, mixed with decent new stuff. I was a huge Petty fan before I even realized he was into the Byrds. I should have known from his style, doh!
I was a big Byrd fan back in the day, and I loved that Petty covered "I'll Probably Feel a Whole Lot Better When You're Gone" on one of his albums. I heard this song on the radio during a part time work shift and have been searching it out ever since. Thank God for Youtube lol we didn't have this search resource back then. I had to harass numerous Deejays and finally purchase the album xD
you know, im the kind of guy thats into like death metal and rap shit and some country but i heard this guy on tv the other day and i thought "WOW what an amaazing smooth beat and this guy has some voice!" so now im into this kind of music. always good to be open minded to all different types of music.
Somewhat ashamed I have to admit I'd have not known Roger McGuinn if not for this duo with Tom Petty (Big Petty fan). Wonderful song, loved it the first time I heard it ages ago now. McGuinn is a truely underratted artist. That being said, I'd love to hear more duos from him and Petty. They compliment each other so beautifully.
roger mcguinn gave me some of the best music in my mis-spent youth. so turn on the blacklight and fireup the waterpipe!

this is pretty funny to hear.. considering Tom Petty basically aped McGuinn's thing
on "American Girl".. and here is Jim M. himself, doing a , er, Homage to Petty !! Kinda.... ironic, ain't it??

What a great track. Petty & McGuinn harmonies rival McCartney & Lennon & no one loves the Beatles more than me.

Roger McGuinn in solo is as impressive as other Byrds in solo like Gene Clark and David Crosby!
