  • how is this a lesson?

  • damn he plays so clean even with low gain setup.D=

  • Christ I hate the intro to these videos.

  • lol he reminds me of a salesman when he says you even want to do a dominant thing well BAM :)

  • That guitar is so sexy.

  • All you need is a big ass line of meth and you too can play this!!!!!

  • "it's not complicated, it's just fucking hard"

  • I share the name with him! I MUST LEARN GUITAR!

  • @metalmonkey007888 do it, i do it 2 for 3 month, it makes fun :).

  • Finally, a death metal player who actually knows how to write a captivating solo rather than just play as fast as possible at all times to make it SOUND MOAR BR00TALZ.

  • Man those fingers are fast! hehe awesome video \m/

  • i love the fact that he uses a semi, hollow for death metal. and i love his playing and writing too.

  • sounds almost frank gambale-ish

  • Holy shit! He's clean as hell!

  • Dear God, he has pure Mastery of picking. I think he might even top some of the other greats in his picking....

  • sounds like a bad mastodon solo sped up twice. Might sound okay if he slowed the fuck down.

  • once emil werstler killed two stones with one bird

  • Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuucking hell. That's picking the way god intended it. :O

  • Give me your tears gypsy.

  • he look like Jon Donais from Shadows fall, but he is like ten times better than Donais at guitar

  • That guitar is sick. And I absolutely love the style of his playing.

  • so someone who actually knows what they are talking about tell me why people play hollow bodies... i never actually picked one up and played one and i really dont know anything about them. enlighten me.

  • @snwbrdr111 emil's guitars are mostly chambered bodies. the difference between solid and hollow bodies are that solid body guitars only convert string vibrations to electrical signals so the body of the guitar doesnt really make a difference to the tone. hollow bodies are kind of like acoustics in that the entire body vibrates when played so the pickups convert string and body vibrations into electrical signals. chambered bodies are really guitars that are built as solid bodies but are given..

  • @leekwesi so what your saying is it kinda gives it more of a warmer tone?

  • @snwbrdr111 yeah exactly, thats why pretty much every traditional jazz guitarist uses them. it really depends on what kind of music you'd be playing, they're great for jazz but if you're playing metal you wouldn't really want the pickups to convert body vibrations because with overdrive or distortion, the tone get pretty muddy from just being too warm and not bright enough. hollow bodies are mostly for clean channel playing

  • @snwbrdr111 but this particular model is a hollow body, the mcarthy hollow body model which is one of the few style made for outside the jazz genre so if you're interested in hollow bodies it would be the way to go

  • @snwbrdr111 continued- "weight relief" holes in the body which gives heavier guitars a better sound. so alot of prs guitars and les pauls are built with them.

  • Háát Ennyi ! Fosokok besza behu! !

    :)

  • haha what where's the lesson?

  • Chops Master!!!!

  • Does anyone know what they call the finish on this guitar? It looks slightly more yellow than a natural finish.

  • @Noodleztherabbit it looks like a prs vintage natural

  • @LOSKARE Yeah, I think you're right. It's harder to find these things out anymore because they don't make the mccarty hollowbody 1's anymore. Thanks.

  • @Noodleztherabbit Actually i think they call that finish a vintage burst on the 2011 models. and yeha it sucks that they dont :/ it was a really amazing looking and sounding guitar without any interference from extra things like piezo switching and all. and no problem man. cheers.

  • that shit was cool. sounds kinda cartoony. maybe something that would fit with primus or something quirky like that. i know his shit from daath, but the way he plays should be more of an offbeat trip cartoon shit. would be more fun. fuck metal cause its stupid now and is nothing but fake. yeah, your really going to wear a dead skin mask or something stupid like force feed broken glass. its just an identity crisis.

  • @Binglung Dead Skin Mask, referring to the Slayer song? Maybe you need to read the lyrics before you judge, man. It's about the serial killer Ed Gein, not about wearing skin masks. Same goes for the Cannibal Corpse reference... They don't condone eating broken glass or anything they sing about, it's all just about being gory for the sake of being gory. Much like scary movies.

  • 500 notes a second.... finger fire!!

  • 0:28 i can't keep a straight face when he says that

  • I didn't learn jack shit from watching this.

  • wow this guy has skills and he is quite original

  • I want tabs for this!!! NOW

  • this guy is one of the better players ive seen on fpe. they seem to pick kinda over rated people sometimes but this guy is fantastic.

  • 0:25 ahah xp

  • Why a prs -.-?

  • @EpicGuitarSolo4Ever Cause it sounds good.

  • EMIL WERSTLER!!!!

  • how many years would it take to get this good?

  • @Roddykay Do like Jeff Loomis. Practice 7 Hours a day for 3 years straight and u may have a fighting chance xD

  • @Roddykay Depends on your dedication. Most guitarists will never get this good to be honest though.

  • @Roddykay to only move your fingers that fast, 3 years of hardcore practice.

if you don't have that much dedication 5 - 10 years.

but to understand the music.....no time messure can be named

  • @xDimebladex I beg to differ on the years of practice to achieve it, it's not that hard. If you're really dedicated you can easily get it down within a couple of weeks. Sweeps are a lot harder though, but still you can lay them down quick if you have dedication. My buddy and I easily laid them both down within a week. Like you said though, it's called dedication.

  • shiiittt man

  • BEAST MODE ON MOTHER FUCKAS

  • Now here is one who reallys knows his shit ;D

  • he talks so fucken fast

  • @TheChrispablo He plays even faster.

  • thats great so i dont need drugs to play this??

  • @cam01235 In fact, drugs would inhibit your ability to play this.

  • @tpl2000 oh yeah it was just a bad joke as i was so blown away by what he was doing it is technique and practise u r right drugs would mess this up...as a former pothead now fitness freak i totally agree with u.. it is like an athletic type of playing that is achieved through dedication ...my bad joke was coz he explained it well and explained the components..there r some amazing players on utube i have seen some incredible shredders

  • sounds like chicken!

  • Okay, I have to learn this riff...

  • @mesvidsfavoris lol?

  • @dimeowns100 yeah i was kiddin

  • cani get the tabs for this?

    ..........lol

  • Fucking unbelievable!

  • awesome. id try it but, i really cba. cool technique though.

  • How come your''songs'' don't use these ideas? Extreme use of the ideas that is

  • Jazz n blues play by heart.

  • Sell me your notes, gypsy, or I shall take them from you.

  • Aw shit i went blind!

  • Not all guitar players want stuff to be complicated. Just technical players.

  • hahhah yeah dude! paul gilbert's instant arpeggio trick lol I use it all the time in my songs

  • "Oh it's gotta be complicated, duh duh duh"

  • If we have 7/11 in Alabama I have yet to see one. We do have Kangaroos out the wazoo though

  • @REDLAB26 If you mean Australia (judging by you saying we have Kangaroos) we do have 7/11's :P

  • Emil is an amazing guitarist, I don't mean that as in yea he can shred but more along the lines of he can play any type of music and it sound good. That's what separates a guitarist from someone who plays a guitar. Chris Broderick is another good example.

  • Sorry but now im just bored of hearing shreads now, it actually gives me a headache now, used to love it

  • oh ya he realy suck's ....not!

  • Woa!!! Nice...

  • Damn this guys is freakin fast!

  • 5000 notes per second.....still laughing thats comedy!

  • sounds like a banjo with distortion

  • It's shred... but it's bluesy....

    My head hurts.

  • Emil actually got me hooked on prs guitars

  • Great Licks...!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @freshnyc we dont have 7/11 in Alabama i dont think

  • Now there's a man who knows his shit.

  • Oh look, another rich fag from Berklee with wealthy Jewish connections.... Die Emil.

  • @ProphetOdeth Whats wrong with Berklee?

  • @SpaceEater1000 It's a great school, but it's just not very metal... sorry..

  • @ProphetOdeth ''Not very Metal''. Lol, go die in a corner, you fuck.

  • @varulv234 LOL You think the Berklee school of music defines "Metal"? You're a poser.

  • @ProphetOdeth No, I do not. I was just stating my opinion on your statement, implying that Berklee isn't ''good'' because it's not ''Metal''. That makes you a fucking retard and also, I believe you're way too obsessed about ''posers'' and ''tr00 metulheadzz''. You're propably older than me as well. Why not cut the crap and get a life besides being tr00 br00tz?

  • @varulv234 Well, I'm very young, so I doubt I'm much older than you. Also, I'm not positive as to why you've busted out the "gamer" "webchat" slang on me, I didn't use anything other than "lol" which is practically in the English dictionary by now LOL. Furthermore, I apologize that I've insulted you beyond my coherent and immediate knowledge. (end of statement in next comment)

  • @varulv234 Yet, if I may be blunt, it does seem that you have not grasped the concepts of the various international "Metal" sub-cultures that are responsible for the entire existence of heavy metal music, from the creation and molding, to the refining and promoting.

  • Every time I hear him playing like that, I think of myself running around a barnyard trying to catch a loose chicken...and I don't know why. It's a unique concept, though, and great to experiment with.

  • fuckin A man, I hope your in a band because you totally belong in one.

  • @BillySmith187 Daath man. Badass band. I suggest you look them up if you haven't.

  • One of the cleanest pickers out there for sure

  • Fucking cheap shot to my pride.

  • @AbortionStench That is why you don't harbour pride over barely adequate skills...

  • @MartyrOfMetal I already know, man. I know my limitations, but this guy is a whole new level of sick. lol

  • @AbortionStench I know, my face melted the first time I watched this.

  • fucking tasty

  • thats it. i quit guitar.

  • i can do that. when im air guitaring.

  • CRAP!

  • you know if you guys actually listen to what hes sayin, and pay attention, mabe look into paul gilberts octave lesson.. its really not hard at all. this is actually an extremely simple concept.

  • @MonsterMonster13ohya Pics or it didn't happen.

  • he sounds like Dexter

  • if i had his PRS's and his skills i would have no reason to stop playing all day and all night.

  • his solo instrumental effort: levi / werstler (both from Daath), is really good shredding stuff, and on top of that, Sean Reinert plays drums on the album..

  • now make a video ''how to survive in trying to learn this guitar riff''

  • that guitar sounds like a banjo with distortion

  • lolz this lesson actually kinda helped me out xD true, pretty simple stuff...i shouldve known this be4 >.<

  • most guitar players are like D: oh its gonna be complicated hah great guitarist

  • he seems like he would make a great guitar teacher!

  • 0:29 EPIC

  • Probably worth noting that he's tuned in D standard for anyone trying to figure it out. :)

  • sounds kinda noodley

  • @METALSHREDSYOURFACE I like noodles.

  • @METALSHREDSYOURFACE the second i read that, all i could hear was NOODLES! NOODLES!

  • lol his metal sounds funny

  • I liked the part where he played fast

  • I hate this kind of playing, playin fast in some scale or in a tecnique doesnt mean to be a good guitarist, its a simple way to make think they are great. they have to be melodic, to make good armonies. great to have speed and harmony at same time like malmsteen or paul gilbert

  • @fehrarce have you heard his solo you may change your mind if you listen to them daath and levi/emil side project

  • @fehrarce lols at you! it's funny because your wrong xD

  • @fehrarce well, it's hard to have harmonies when there's only 1 guy...

  • @fehrarce well, im pretty sure he said in this it was a simple thing that most guitarists look over because its not technical enough.

  • 00:27 XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • penis

  • He is great!

  • This guys knows very well how to play scales! lol

  • his right hand is so neat! amazing

  • He's not trying to teach you HOW to play THIS riff, he's saying you can take what he's saying and run with it.

  • from 0:26 to 0:32 "Ohh...Its gotta be complicated duh duh duh..." that's SOOOO true...a lot of times simplicity is overlook and a lot of good ideas are lost because of that..... great guitar player..

  • i dont understand why him and daath arnt bigger than they are...

  • @xxxskat34lifexxx THAT, my Friend, is the understatement of the YEAR! It boggles my mind, as well!

  • @xxxskat34lifexxx It's because you touch yourself at night.

  • @xxxskat34lifexxx

It takes time for metal bands to become big. Look at Opeth, they've been around for 20 years and how long have they been as big as they are now?

  • @xxxskat34lifexxx

It takes time for metal bands to become big. Look at Opeth, they've been around for 20 years and how long have they been as big as they are now? it takes time for good bands to gain major recognition.

  • Emil rules, as does Eyal, as does Daath. FUCK YEAH!!!

  • How is call this guitar?

  • watch?v=k5FZu0T6hLE

  • This very much displeases me :(. Just shows me how much more learning I have ahead of me.. I can't even hold a candle to this guy.

  • OK I can play it fast now but I had to learn directional picking first.

  • wtf whats wrong with that guy

  • @Wolfenstahl I came here to post this. He's just too good.

  • Spider-fingers !!!

  • emil actually gives guitar lessons at jamplay.com. I have talked with him a few times and he's pretty chill, a real person. You can just sit in a chat room with about 40 other ppl and bull shit with him if you want or ask him guitar related questions..very cool guy.

  • \m/

  • " yeah this isnt complicated at all. Let me show you by playing it 5000 notes per second"

  • @skwisgaarandtoki69 haha lol!

  • @skwisgaarandtoki69 It's called practice...but fuck that I can play expert on guitar hero I bet I could do it. :D

  • anyone know what kinda amps and effects daath uses?

  • @decapitatedrathead i think they are using Mesa Dual Recs right now

  • @classicadelmantro yea, emil has pics of all his gear on myspace

  • Guys, I have a video up showing what he plays SLOWLY, but they let me put it as a video response. Check it out.

  • @JEESherazi Won't let me put it as a video response.*

  • as guitar players we're like, oh, its gotta be complicated haha funny

  • And he plays PRS.... : )

  • um... AWESOME!

  • nice to see that some musicians can actually play the freakin guitar. too many nowadays just beat on their axe but couldnt play their way outa a wet paper bag with holes in it. skill is hard to come by these days....sadly. emil kicks some major ass

  • phenomenal.

  • damnit i hate when people like him try to give "lessons"...they just spend the whole time showing off. SLOW THE FUCK DOWN....why do u think u are giving lessons its becuz the person trying to learn CANT PLAY GUITAR ANYWHERE NEAR AS GOOD AS YOU....instead of trying to look cool maybe u should think "damn im really good, maybe i should slow it down a bit a so my student can keep up"........fucking arroagant show off's

  • @Divintium haha i know what you mean, trust me when i tell you though, that he isn't conscious of it. Great players always need someone to point out to them that the rest of us aren't (pardon the pun) up to speed.

  • @Divintium relax

  • @Divintium He's not slowing down because he's obviously not teaching clueless beginners like you.

  • @Divintium hey idiot, its not a lesson to teach u how to play it, its to show u how much u suck cuz u cant play it :)

  • Потому что этот парень дрочит свою гитарку, а не дрОчит на ютюб как ты.

  • @NickSZev yeah you're totally right ???

  • @kdrick22 Инфа 100%. Я это гарантирую.

  • how can he not lose his fingers!?!
