I want to strengthen the unions, tax the rich at progressive levels as high as 60%, and I want the anti-trust people to break up the oligopolies and strengthen competition. I want our government to insure easy entry for sgtart-up firm, and an easy exit if they fail. Get rid of barriers to entry than favor the mega-corporations. I want to see our government enhancing the demand side of our economy instead of the supply side (trickle down).
If unions are so great why does Detroit look like a skeleton of a town? Why did GM need a taxpayer bailout to stay open for business? Unions in government jobs are a cancer to any town or city. When the truth gets out about Democrats they lose political power because history has proven them to be liars... Detroit,USSR, Cuba, California = Historic leftist failures.
Did I forget to mention 1 in 4 children now living below the poverty level. You people just don't get it, which is why your movement has become less than whimper. You're advocating more trickle down bullshit as a way to resolve our crisis. No imagination, only fanatical adherence to a policy that has failed miserably. I want the government to step in do its job. I want to redistribute income so that consumers will have money to spend in our mixed market.
Every Republican President over the last thirty years has run up the national debt with big deficits. Clinton actually paid in down by 15%. Bush2 increased the deficit by 600% . Trickle down Reagonomics has been a disaster thirty years in the making. Easing regulations, such as gutting the EPA, and leaving the financial sector to its own devices, was central to this bizarre economic plan. All it did was make the rich richer, crash the economy, and leave us a huge national debt.
You guys just refuse to give up your belief in trickle down economics and to take some responsibility for this economic disaster. Greenspan at the FED was the only regulator who could have snuffed out the speculative bubble and he chose to sit on his hands and do nothing. I suspect he did this fearing that he would contract the economy. I'm sure the Bush White House was telling him not to tamper with the mortage markets because growth in GDP was largely induced by our housing sector.
This is much more representative of the Tea Party than that portrayed in the "Mainstream" media. The contrast between the Tea Party and OWS is stark. The Tea Party actually know why they demonstrate and they do not go with problems unless they have solid answers. That is the it should be done! For What Its Worth!
Trickle down economics has been a thirty year disaster in the making. Decreasing taxes on the wealthy increased the deficit, under Bush, by 600% over eight years. And now the Republicans want to cut entitlements so that they can maintain their trickle down policies? (Meaning no tax increases for the wealthy). If this happens you'll have riots in the street that make the current OWS look tame. People are fed up with greed. They want a viable future. The tea party is nothing but empty slogans.
I don't agree with your analysis. Sounds like right wing propaganda to me and it flies in the face of the facts. Banks have never been forced to lend to anybody. They are private for profit firms. The crisis in the mortgage markets was caused by irresponsible brokers who were paid by the transaction. The mortages were then bundled and resold to investors by investment banks. The FED has the power to regulate banks and under Greenspan it did nothing to stop the bubble.
Actually, they have been. Obama himself was instrumental in seeing that banks loaned to persons who could not afford to buy houses. How? By picketing them and calling them racist institutions. Wake up.
@foredeck100 It's not right wing propaganda, it the truth. Technically the banks weren't forced but more like pressured by the government to lend to people who couldn't afford it. The banks were threatened with fines, fees, and more regulation. There were many factors that caused the housing crash including greed, but it's undeniable that government meddling with the free market was the catalyst. The Fed's artificially low interest rates, CRA, Dodd-Frank, Fanny & Freddy etc..
WASHINGTON IS OVERRUN WITH CORRUPTION! It's overrun with greedy, power-hungry, smooth-talking lawmakers who trade tax dollars for votes (bribes) to secure their bloated 6 figure incomes and 6 figure pensions. These corrupt men hand out bailouts, tax breaks, and entitlement checks for political kickbacks. And because THEY make the laws, THEY make it LEGAL!
The solution? We must elect honorable, humble men who will honor the Constitution. NO MORE LIFE-LONG CAREER POLITICIANS! Go Tea Party!
@MR1QUEST Not quite idiot. You might want to learn math. You could take every dime from the "1%" and it wouldn't help a thing. Just keep your brilliant ideas and foul mouth over in used up England and be quite. Enjoy Islam Mr. socialist, unable to think for himself, owed everything, failing society, non independent, little half man. lol.
@Redlegarty your very abusive over the net , so fuck you , you filthy smelly scum cunt :) plus your nation will become islam as well soon and it is because of people like you , the way you have capitalism set up is facilitating it , to maintain a culture each couple must have 3 children , but because you channel all wealth to the 1% no one else can afford to bring up more than 1 or two children at a reasonable standard of living , if it wasn't for immigration your economic model would fal
I don't think anyone in this country should validate our government by voting in the next election. I'm advocating a complete boycott, left and right. Our government is dysfunctional beyond all hope. We cannot return to supply-side economics, (trickle down) because this has been the source of the de-regulation that led to the collapse in the financial sector (and the deficits), and the left has nothing new to offer. We're at an economic impasse. I think we should start over.
@foredeck100 Actually deregulation did not cause the collapse in the financial sector. Regulation did. Deviating from the powers outlined in the Constitution, anti-capitalist lawmakers passed the Affordable Housing Act, setting the stage for a housing bubble & eventual collapse. Although it sounded compassionate & helpful, this disastrous REGULATION & INTERFERENCE actually FORCED banks to lend money to people who were financially unstable. When they faulted, the fate of the economy was sealed.
@foredeck100 As for America's federal deficit, an intrusive, irresponsible government did that too by spending beyond their means, on credit from foreign countries. America needs principled, honest servants in Washington who regard the Constitution as holy writ.
You also believe that Mr. Obama represents a radical change in economic policies but this isn't true. He has actually done nothing but extend most of the policies enacted by the Bush administration, which is why people on the left are so angry at him. We feel like he sold out. We know that Bush was incompetent and that this depression has his name on it, along with all the presidents since Reagan.
@foredeck100 I'm curious. Does the fact that Obama (according to you) "has done nothing but extend most of the policies enacted by the Bush administration," and as a result "people on the left are angry at him, and feel like he sold out," mean you (and they) will not be voting for him in 2012? If the left is so unhappy with him, wouldn't it make sense for the Dems to have a primary and choose a candidate more to their liking instead of letting him have the nomination by default?
One thing the tea party people should understand is that because of de-regulation beginning about 30 years ago, we no longer have a free market. We have a market place dominated by oligopolies and near monopolies. Not just the financial markets, but all markets. This has the effect of stiffling competition and growth, as well as consumer choice. It has also created an environment of corruption and fraud. Competition regulates the markets and makes them efficient. You people are deluded.
I think the concepts discussed in this advertisement are beneficial, possible, and uniting.
I hope that social issues can stay separated from the Tea Party, because the Tea Party really starts to look like the Republican party if we get wrapped up in non-financial issues.
@CitizenTyrant nice language, this is an example of those that are involved with the OWS they can't find a united reason why they are protesting so they use vulgarity. My question for you would be how much are they paying you to sit in the rain and be arrested? If you’re not getting paid and totally believe that Wall Street owes you for actually doing the work and making the money that you aren't willing to do then why not take yourself to a nation that believe as you do. Go be happy!
PLEASE SPELL CORRECTLY! IT IS AN ADVERTISEMENT, OR 'AD,' NOT AN 'ADD,' and whoever posted that misspelling FIVE DAYS AGO, and never corrected it, is making Tea Partiers look stupid!
Great job! Much better than the 1st version! I can tell you listened to many of the comments abut the 1st one. Now, these are real people in their own environment--- a nice cross-section of America. You can only show so much in 30 secs. GREAT JOB!
This time the regime suppressing the world doesn't have a charismatic leader like a Hitler/ Stalin/ Churchhill, or a King. They've learned from mistakes of the past that there should be no central leader or one ideal, just a plutocracy linked through a common currency which is 'credit' and debt. So this time WE need to have no leaders
This has to be an INDIVIDUALIST MOVEMENT - not socialist, or nationalist, or Dems or Repubs
I thought that most tea-party supporters were very pro-military . . . . intervene and fight everywhere, and force other countries to do things our way. . . . spend lots of money fighting. I thought that mostly they are against "domestic" spending on the citizens of our own country. That is how they seem to be in Va. anyway.
@mtnprivy You thought completely wrong. In fact, most Tea Partiers opposed the fact that far left Obama did exactly that by getting unconstitutionally involved in libya. Most Tea Partiers are done with Iraq as we've accomplished what we set to do, want to pull out of Afghanistan as we are sober enough to realize that it's a lost cause to turn a 13th-century theocracy in to a 21st-century republic in a decade. What you're refering to is the parentalist left.
This is a comment for anyone/everyone. I was liking Ron Paul when I heard that he was against military interventions outside our borders. Then he started to say that we must cut env. regs and use lawsuits for protection, after the contaminations occur. How are we gonna become enlightened people and turn our human society around w/out guidance? How are you gonna clean up the messes with "freedom?" How am I to believe that "freedom" to you, means "doing the RIGHT thing" by us all?
@JermskiB , Good! Let's get our politicians that we voted for to work for us instead of being bought by big businesses and their lobbiyists on K street and their army of high-powered lawyers. How about things like campaign finance reform? How about the Supreme Court not giving citizen status to big corporations?
I don't mind paying taxes as long as the government does what it's supposed to do. I have no prob with EPA, FDA, Dept of Education ,etc.
We need to KEEP FIGHTING because if we don't these liberals are going to destroy ALL FIRST AMENDMENT and SECOND AMENDMENT rights in the name of "justice" and "equality". I think we also need to do away with AFFIRMATIVE ACTION!!! Everybody ALREADY has a fair shot at getting hired ... well unless illegal immigrants are up in the running. They get higher priority.
Proud to say I would stand for the Tea Party anyday. I'm with you Teapartiers; I hear ALL of the accusations: 1) we are racists (due to the imbeciles that carry confederate flags misrepresenting us) 2) freedom helps man ruin the earth (which we really need to put the focus on feeding the hungry and poor) 3) bureaucracy is necessary to everyday function (tribes handle business without even knowing what a "bureau" is).
@ryeckley82, No, it has become plainly obvious that the TP has been taken over by big business corporate interests pretending to support your freedoms, when it's really their freedoms they care about. They want to dismantle the government to the point it has no power to do anything. They have their pet politicians like Paul Ryan, Eric Cantor, Rick Scott, Scott Walker, etc..
In the endgame, we will have a corporatocracy controlled by oligarchs.....just like Russia.
How do you propose that we save the planet by giving the people MORE freedom to screw up? How does the earth get cleaner when we eliminate the EPA? Is the corruption of the EPA more important than the corruption of air/water/soil? How can "freedom" make us act more responsibly than we do (don't) now? I want to be for "freedom", but first we need to keep the earth/humans alive. How will "freedom" clean the earth, and make a better society? Do banks need MORE "freedom?"
@mtnprivy Actually, the EPA does nothing to help the environment. All EPA does is suck my hard-earned dollars to pay for a useless out-of-control army of bureaucrats. Grow a pair and quit sucking on the Federal NannyTit for all your needs, and your sense of self-worth. We can control pollution without Unconstitutional Federal Porkulus intervention. Why do you liberals always look to a corrupt and inefficient Federal Government for a solution to everything?
@mtngoat49 Your argument would have some credibility if you gave some ACTUAL examples in modern times of citizens who made substantial progress in environmental protections WITHOUT government assistance. Before Nixon started the EPA, there were rivers burning. There are still dead zones where rivers empty to the ocean, and oil spills
@mtnprivy I'll give you an ACTUAL example of what happens when government steps out of its Constitutional bounds as our Federal government is currently doing: Adolf Hitler in Nazi Germany from 1933 to 1945. I'll give you another ACTUAL example of what happens when Statist views like yours that violate the Constitution, inject the government bureaucratic schnauz into our lives, over-regulate, over-tax and redistribute wealth in a centralized economy: Vladimir Lenin and Joseph Stalin in the USSR.
@mtngoat49 , Those words fit perfectly for the interests of Monsanto, and the big oil &gas companies......the common citizen not so much. I hope you enjoy being duped by this Koch Brothers funded organization that calls itself the Tea Party. You are a lobbyists' best friend.
Oh, by the way, it was a conservative Republican president that created the EPA by the name of Richard Nixon.....but I guess that would not be enough for you.
@ffairlane57 I don't give a dang who created the EPA, nimwit. It isn't about Republican vs Democrat, it's about Freedom vs Slavery. It just so happens that you brainwashed Libtards think the Federal Government is the solution, when in fact, it is the problem. Do you enjoy being 15 trillion dollars in debt? Because you and I and all of us are holding a debt so huge that it will never be repaid. This house of cards is going to fall soon, and YOU and your clueless Libard friends are the reason why.
@mtnprivy The earth is far more resilient than scare-mongering, save-the-planet environmentalists want us to believe. Through AGENDA 21 the EPA is nothing more than "cover" for an oppressive global government that seeks to eradicate freedom and control every aspect of our lives, from our lawn fertilizer to the color of our roofs, from where we live to how many children we have. Don't believe me? I suggest you read up on it starting with "The Plan’ – Agenda 21: The Death Knell of Liberty".
@MrScruples7 The earth might survive, but what about living things . . . and humans? You call it scare mongering to be good stewards, but we now have 7 billion people, and our consumption habits per person get generally worse each year. Look at the species extinction, and climate changes already happening. Your "agenda 21" fearmongering is worse. It teaches that we should not work together or think ahead about our impact. We must be cooperative stewards of the earth.
@mtnprivy Earth was put here by God for man- not the other way around. And God was smart enough to give us all we need to sustain life as He sees fit. So if there's an energy shortage, it's because the gov't restricts drilling (for the noble-sounding cause of "saving the planet"). Likewise, if there's a food shortage, it's because the govt restricts irrigatation (to "save the planet"). And if there's a housing shortage, its because govt restricts the lumbering of trees (to "save the planet").
@mtnprivy Furthermore as your comment implies, the logical exponential end to all environmentalist thought it MASS GENOCIDE. It reasons that to "save the planet" from the strain mankind puts on Mother Gaia, consumption must be reduced by radically reducing the population! This faulty & frightening idea stems from evolution -that the delicate planet (not a powerful & sovereign God) gave life to living creatures through evolutionary processes & man is an evil freak of nature who doesn't belong.
@MrScruples7 I know about "agenda 21." If you think all cooperation=communism=no freedom, then quit the church and divorce ur family. Go to the woods.
Why is "freedom" always the desire to do stupid/destructive things, like smoking in public, or guns in bars? Freedom freaks never wanna to the good/right thing by anyone else. They just wanna be stupid or mean to others. That gets old after a bit.
@mtnprivy "Cooperation" is a buzz word for another faulty environmental corollary known as "Systems Thinking," which has apparently saturated your philosophy of life. Systems Thinking sounds scientific but it's not. It's a philsophical & religious theory that teaches that "all things are interconnected." This contrary to Biblical Truth; but as it permeates our brainwashed and godless society, it seeks to force individualism to bow to the collective for the "greater good."
@mtnprivy BTW the family & local church are God-given institutions to be retained & treasured. Government also has its place, but The Framers understood that government is not God. They understood that gov't is run by evil men and if left unbridled, it quickly becomes tyrannical & abusive. That's why they wrote our Constitution - to limit gov't power & protect the people from oppression. In other words, the solution to evil in this world is not unlimited govt control. The solution is God.
@mtnprivy BTW I never said systems don't exist. They do - mechanical, bodily, etc. But in an environmental context, Systems Thinking takes on an ugly meaning because it says that ALL parts and ALL systems are interconnected & CODEPENDENT. That's why environmentalists are so rabid & have no tolerance for anyone else. They believe their fate depends on everyone's "cooperation," not on God - that if I don't use a low-flush toilet it affects them personally. Or that cow farts cause global warming.
To Forevertruth: There r hypocrits in every camp but someday every man will stand before a holy God and account for every word. Nothing will remain secret. Every motive will be exposed. Every every evil deed will be unveiled. And God will judge. U curse me to burn in Hell because u don't like what I stand for, but I don't want anyone to go to Hell - even you. It's a place of eternal torment. So I will continue praying that the goodness of God leads you to repentance at the cross of Christ.
where the debt concerns from you pathetic tea baggers from 2003 thru 2008 when GWB and cheney were deficit spending while squandering hundreds of billions in iraq chasing after hussein's imaginary wmds ?.....if the tea party had any credibility it would have been formed in 2003 or 2004 - instead of waiting to form in 2009 - when a black man moved into the white house
Yes... to save America once again... we all need to be The Tea Party! Individuals not a political group!!!! I proudly say, "My name is Barbara, and I am a military chaplain's wife, mother, grandmother, Daughter of the American Revolution, Grand-daughter of a Mayflower passenger and I AM the Tea Party!"
Obama got Gadhafi, Osama & ended the Iraq war! I believe Barack Obama will continue to influence the world to work together for progress like never before. In my own way, For Obama 2012, I'm inviting Occupy Wall Street & everyone in the world to be in my Obama Supporters Videos/ Song of celebrities, people of places named after Obama & Obama supporters posting a video of themselves singing the chorus of Obama For The World (world's Obama tribute song)! For Obama's change & America's freedom!
THE SCARIEST THING IN THE WORLD ON HALLOWEEN WOULD BE THE INSIDE OF MICHELE BACHMANNS VAGINA SINCE HER HUSBAND BRINGS HOME SO MUCH GAY FECES SEX STUFF ---YUCKY
ONE WORLD ORDER CALL FOR BY POPE Read all @ Huffington Post.10/24/11: VATICAN CITY -- The Vatican called Monday for radical reform of the world's financial systems, including the creation of a global political authority to manage the economy.
limited governments and free markets sound all lovely and laaa but in reality this means that rather than coming under your Constitutional rights you come under business , who can do what they want - wont pay you a fair wage for your labor whilst filling their own pocket to excess - this is a way to enslave people by stealth - the state must have more power and wealth than business some business are the modern slave trade take huge profits and dont pay fair - the fredom you want is slavery
@MR1QUEST Wrong. With a free market, you vote every day. But your voting ballot is your dollar bill. That ballot, aka that dollar, you decide (vote) for the business or service that you choose. Often, people will vote (buy) the best quality for the cheapest price. They do this because it is THEIR dollar, they want the most for their buck. When the government restricts what you can and can't buy with taxes and tariffs then that is slavery. You can only buy one good. whatever the government sells.
@MR1QUEST If you are unhappy with your current wage, I suggest you take a risk, invest your own money in your own business, and start your own company.
@MrScruples7 im not thinking of me im thinking of others who are in a very bad way , it aint so bad in the uk we are more civilized than the us , when people fall on hard times we look after them to some extent , in the us you treat people like fucking animals you bunch of soul less cunts , with the money and wealth you have i can not believe you dont give health care , and you have the cheek to say that you follow Christianity , your culture embraces every thing the bible says is bad , shame
@MR1QUEST Nice language. BTW, as of today, the U.S. Government is a whopping $14,975,986.386.00 dollars in DEBT, and social security is broke. That's nearly 15 TRILLION dollars in the hole, saddling each and every taxpayor in the country for nearly $140,000.00 EACH! Where have you been?
@MR1QUEST That's interesting, I see a different view of my country than the bull you say. Is there some reason you can't type without spewing foul garbage out of your mouth? BTW, how does it feel watching your country turn Islamic because you're not men anymore? How's it feel watching your kids run wild in the streets and destroy your society because they have been taught to not be independent and self reliant but entitled to EVERYTHING.There are no men left in Britain. You are the proof coward
@MrScruples7 He can't, he hasn't got the guts like most Americans do. British testosterone is collapsing due to socialism. Not only that but the government in England frowns on such action. They want their citizens on the dole and drunk.
@Redlegarty I agree with you. Britain is a socialist mess and Brits are drunk with "free" government handouts. But it never ceases to amaze me how socialists fail to understand that monstrous governments are never efficient or frugal. They're wasteful. They suppress the middle class thru taxation and eventually bring poverty to the people. Advocates for such have no common sense. They can't think straight. They must not only be drunk but brainwashed as well.
@MrScruples7 your numbers would decline and your society would crash , so rather than create a large middle class and spead the wealth the 1% encourage immigration and multiculturalism , so as your numbers fall , Muslims come to your country and have children at a rate of 8.1and are prepared to live at a very low standard of living because it is still better than were they come from , so as the years go on your numbers will drop and theirs will go up , then you are over run, watch my play lists
@MR1QUEST I am aware that Muslims are now poised to over-run & populate America, as they have done in numerous European countries. It's a shame that instead of receiving children from God's hand, most Americans (like their European counterparts) believe the lie that children are an unwelcome expense whose numbers are to be tightly controlled and reduced through birth control & abortion, rather than the joy and blessing they really are. This folly will eventually cost Americans their country.
@MrScruples7 yes but the reason they dont want kids is because they cant afford them , your economics need to change , you need to create a large middle class to stop the decline in child birth , no one wants to bring their child up in poverty and have no health care and prospects , im starting to see things in a different light lately , the 1% dont see them selves as Americans they are Internationale , it use to be country's boarders between peoples , NOW IT JUST CLASS WORLD WIDE
@MR1QUEST In one breath, saying Americans are rich, you said "shame" on America for not wanting to pay for entitlement programs. Yet in the next breath you say American's don't want kids because they can't afford them. So which is it? Are American's filthy rich or too poor to have kids? Make up your mind.
Awsome job, IM a tea Partyer and a BIRTHER...Most of the fake is OWS, Commist,Unions, backed by Soros. There a few who like us is hurting, but did not notice the group they got connected with.We need preachers going in and and show them Jesus loves them, and to come out from the wolfs in sheep clothing.
@MsTexasOne Paid actors advertise Clorox Bleach... and Clorox Bleach works regardless of whether or not the actors use it. Tell that to your "lefties".
@NaturePoole this is true and I'm indifferent. For all I know they could be paid actors AND teaparty members I could give a Rats A. The way I put it to them was as follows : I don't care who they are they speak to what I'm for.
@MsTexasOne Oh, I knew you didn't care. I was just giving you a good line to feed back to the wise guy comments on your page. - You gave them a good answer.
Ron Paul... the only candidate with a real plan to balance the budget, cut 1 Trillion dollars in year 1, and shrink the Federal Government so WE can grow again.
@NaturePoole ...but Dr. Paul is clueless with regard to the threat from Jihadists in the Middle East, and that alone would prevent me from supporting him. "Live and let live," sounds great, but not when those to whom it is addressed have no intention of returning the favor. Watch the ME: Egypt, Libya, etc. - changes = Islamic Brotherhood moving in w/Sharia Law...not democracy, and certainly not republics. RP is too soft on this issue for me.
@NaturePoole The earth is FINITE and it's systems of air/water/soil keep us alive. If we continue to grow, then we are CANCER, and the earth must purge us if she is to survive. I am all in favor of limited government, but we need gov. to limit our own growth, before we kill the planet. Chesapeake and New Orleans already have massive dead zones. There is pollution everywhere, a plastic garbage dump north of hawaii, and die-off of species everywhere.
@mtnprivy The earth must purge us if SHE is to survive? SHE? The earth is a thing, not a woman - unless, of course, you refer to Mother GAIA of Greek mythology.
if the tea party movement had any credibility it would have been formed in 2003 or 2004 or 2005 or 2006 or 2007 or 2008 when george bush and cheney were deficit spending.....instead of waiting to form in 2009 - when a black man moved into the White House.
Listening to Cantor, Paul ryan and michele bachmann prattle about balanced budgets and fiscal responsibility is like listening to casey anthony for parenting advice.
@rebjiii The tea party should have been there to stop the bailouts from Bush. But the fact that it was formed when a "black man" was in the whitehouse has nothing to do with it. The teaparty saw Bush's bailouts expand under Obama. Black, white or purple, it doesn't matter. the accelerated spending on top of the Bush bailouts is what worries tea partiers. Find different a mode of criticism other than the racecard. The teaparty has put Herman Cain on top since he started running. He's black. fyi
@howardfine13 Don't confuse Tea Party with GOP. This is NOT a race issue. The hardline GOP installed Michael Steele as their chairman. This was after Obama was elected.
@cwministries right. my point was that it has NEVER been a race issue. There are those against the tea party that think otherwise. To prove this point I brought up Herman Cain. "The only tactic liberals have is to try to intimidate people into thinking that the Tea Party is racist. The Tea Party is not a racist movement, period! If it were, why would the straw polls keep showing that the black guy is winning? That's a rhetorical question. Let me state it: The black guy keeps winning." - Cain
@howardfine13 ...eric cantor and paul ryan are TEA PARTY heros.....both cantor and paul ryan voted for the TARP bail out in oct 2008.....herman cain is a disgrace to his race....herman has 2 chances to be elected prez on nov 6, 2012 - those chances are slim and none
@rebjiii Cantor and Ryan did vote for TARP. And for this you are incorrect saying that they are TEA party heroes. Cain opposes federal "too big to fail" TARP programs. He wants to cut federal entitlement programs. He is against stimulus packages. He is against the growth of a federal government. He is pro domestic energy use. He wants the states to have more power. He wants to dissolve the IRS. This gives the individual more. More freedom and more responsibility. to me, that spells T-E-A.
@rebjiii you're right. He did. I am glad that he now has seen that the federal "help" is not actually help. He has since stated that if another TARP was ever proposed he would not support it.
@rebjiii I very much like the idea that Cain wants to decrease federal government's reach into the private sector. He wants the individual and the businesses to have more. he realizes that if people have more money to spend then that will ultimatley create a prosperous country and a prosperous government.
@rebjiii Does screaming 'Racist' over and over ever get old? No one is buying it anymore. For the first time since Reagan, I'm excited about a presidential candidate - Herman Cain.
The tea party rocks. Win or lose, we will live free or die. Big Govt off our backs, out of our lives and out of our faces. We had to do it in 1776, and we'll do it again.
@mtngoat49 I know you like EPA off Exxon's back. That's why you loved that pipeline spill in the Yellowstone River. Live free AND die, if you want, but I would rather not define "freedom" as the right to pollute the environment that belongs to us all. I would rather have the freedom to make the world a better place, not a worse one. In 1776 we were "free" to steal the indians land, and they were "free" to lose it, like Wall street is "free" to screw us all into the poorhouse.
@mtnprivy What an ass. Who defined freedom as the right to pollute the environment? Why don't you preach to your pea-brained socialist Occupunk heroes about cleaning up their own hypocrite filth? You are a complete imbecile.
@mtngoat49 YOU (and your buddies) DO NOT own the country. Our ancestors stole it from the Indians, but in reality NOBODY owns the land, it owns us. It is the only reason we are here, and we better take care of it like our LIFE DEPENDS ON IT!
Respond to this video... The Republicans who say that they are responding to tea party ideas of smaller government (perhaps with a few Democrats) are trying to gut the EPA in the name of smaller gov. Nixon formed the EPA. They are trying to stop the cleanup of the Chesapeake bay, which now has a dead zone similar to the gulf of Mexico, and they generally want less restrictions on industry. This is all from the influence of the tea party on the Rep. party.
@mtnprivy The problem isn't the Tea Party, it is from a system that has become corrupt and needs purging. I love nature, and agree that humanity has caused many damages to the world of Nature.
It wasn't the formation of the EPA it was its subversion by PACs, lobbyists and politicians ($) that ruined the EPA.For each good thing it is working for, there are others that serve only to "pay a debt" or get the next vote
If you listen to the video, it doesn't matter what party, just principle.
The Tea Party doesn't show themselves to be any more capable of turning around our suicidal consumption habits than anyone else. Libertarian people must be head and shoulders more sober than the average. They must do the right thing without many laws to guide them. If they act selfishly or foolishly we all suffer. A free-for-all is NO way to turn an unhealthy world around. We need a way to NOT spoil the earth, even when it is crowded.
I oppose abuse of power at all levels. Government should be fair to all equally. That means that I too oppose government policies that give preferential treatment, specialized tax breaks, or bailouts to some entities over others, whether that preferential treatment is given to banks, corporations, or non-profits. Banks that did anything illegal should be prosecuted. But when backroom govt favors caused the problem, govt officials (e.g.Barney Frank) should be prosecuted. Your anger is misplaced.
Paying taxes to government so that government can provide legitimate services is one thing. I have no problem paying taxes for infrastructure, military, etc. But paying excessive taxes so that a bloated government can waste the taxpayers' hard-earned money or redistribute wealth is another. The redistribution of wealth is not a legimate function of government. It's a faulty communist, utopian tenet echoing Karl Marx who said "From each according to his ability. To each according to his need."
My point was that it would have made more sense if the young mother with the stroller was on a sidewalk. In other words, they should have chosen a different street and section of town that had sidewalks, because most mothers would prefer to take their children for a walk on a sidewalk, safe from moving vehicles. They don't ordinarily walk down the middle of a street. Nor do they ordinarily stop to chat in the middle of a street, let alone stop in the street with a baby in a stroller.

Where were the budget deficit concerns from 2003 thru 2008 from the pathetic tea party mob when GWB and cheney were deficit spending in iraq chasing after hussein's imaginary wmds ?
Who are the liberals? The people who remove books that don't agree with them from school and library shelves? The ones selling off a free press for one that's controlled and biased? The people who warned about "Big Brother" and then brought it to us? People who bumper sticker "Question Authority" and fail to question it themselves? Those who trumpet Open Mindedness only to close theirs? The heralds of forced conformity via government controls?
Nope. Conservatives are the true liberals. TPartay!
@forevertruth1206 Aw c'mon, you can do it. A little story here, will have to do it in 2 parts.
Two Muslim women friends bump into each other one day at the market and sit down for some coffee and some catching up. Now they haven't seen each other for a while so one of them pulls out pictures of her sons and starts showing her friend.
"Oh, that be little Salaam" remarks the friend upon recognizing one of them, "I remember him as little boy,
All Liberals have thin skin and are afraid of their own shadows. Liberals are locked in their beliefs and ideology and have made poltics their religion. Liberals attack anyone who disagrees with them. Liberals are bigots.
Liberal Bigotry. Hate- the attack an anyone who doesn't agree with the liberal mindset (Sarah Palin's personal life destroyed, the referral of black conservatives as "uncle toms." Fear- the fear mongering behind global warming and the need for gun control. Lies - all the above; "I did not have sexual relations with that woman." and Distortion - the wrongful portrayal by the media of every conservative, tea party member, nra member etc. I'll add one. Self-annointment. like em on facebook.
Idea: Make a video of: "I'm not the Tea Party". IE: I want you to work and GIVE ME your wealth. I want you to pay for my house. I want you to GIVE ME ... yadayadayada..... I want more Government regulations. Images: Mess in the streets, Defecating on police cars, Voter intimidation, Government wasting money, Socialists, Communists, Dirty, Un showered YADAYADAYADA.... Everything thing that the Tea Party is NOT. repeating: "My name is ....I am NOT the Tea Party". An ass backwards pro video.
@MrScruples7 Every policy that Gov. makes is to benefit their corporate masters. Since you are such a corporate loving teabag, I don't get it why are you complaining? And just FYI: When asked whether to pay taxes to the government, Jesus said: " Whose face is on the coin?" The pharisees (modern day teabaggers) said "The emperor's" "There you have it" Jesus said "Give the government what belongs to the government, and to God what belongs to God." So... gaaasp, Jesus was OK with paying taxes.
@forevertruth1206 I pay taxes to the government only so that my individual life, liberty, and property is protected. When I am taxed for other reasons, outside of three things previously mentioned, which includes FORCED charity, only then does taxation become wrong. “Life, liberty, and property do not exist because men have made laws. On the contrary, it was the fact that life, liberty, and property existed beforehand that caused men to make laws in the first place.”
@forevertruth1206 I have no problem obeying Jesus by paying taxes so that govt can function and keep the peace, & I freely give aid to those in need (so long as they're not drug addicts or lazy slobs who won't work). But let's not forget the 2nd part of Jesus' words "Give to God what belongs to God." While u twist Jesus' words to preach at others about giving to a bloated govt, have you, Forevertruth, given to God what belongs to God? -- the humble submission of your life and soul to Him?
@MrScruples7 A humble person doesn't speak like this, you hypocritical pharisee, you are exactly the type of scum that Jesus warns against. "Many will come and pretend they are me, but they come from evil". That's you. Oh, and by the way, the best way to tell that you hate Jesus is the moment you said "I help, so long as they're not drug addicts or lazy". Jesus NEVER put conditions on helping people. He said to help those who need most. Typical Teabag, who wouldn't help those who need the most.

I want to see our government enhancing the demand side of our economy instead of the supply side (trickle down).
foredeck100 3 months ago

I want to redistribute income so that consumers will have money to spend in our mixed market.
foredeck100 3 months ago
Every Republican President over the last thirty years has run up the national debt with big deficits. Clinton actually paid in down by 15%. Bush2 increased the deficit by 600% . Trickle down Reagonomics has been a disaster thirty years in the making. Easing regulations, such as gutting the EPA, and leaving the financial sector to its own devices, was central to this bizarre economic plan. All it did was make the rich richer, crash the economy, and leave us a huge national debt.
foredeck100 3 months ago
You guys just refuse to give up your belief in trickle down economics and to take some responsibility for this economic disaster. Greenspan at the FED was the only regulator who could have snuffed out the speculative bubble and he chose to sit on his hands and do nothing. I suspect he did this fearing that he would contract the economy. I'm sure the Bush White House was telling him not to tamper with the mortage markets because growth in GDP was largely induced by our housing sector.

This is much more representative of the Tea Party than that portrayed in the "Mainstream" media. The contrast between the Tea Party and OWS is stark. The tea party is nothing but empty slogans.
foredeck100 4 months ago
I don't agree with your analysis. Sounds like right wing propaganda to me and it flies in the face of the facts. Banks have never been forced to lend to anybody. They are private for profit firms. The crisis in the mortgage markets was caused by irresponsible brokers who were paid by the transaction. The mortages were then bundled and resold to investors by investment banks. The FED has the power to regulate banks and under Greenspan it did nothing to stop the bubble.
foredeck100 4 months ago
@foredeck100
Actually, they have been. Obama himself was instrumental in seeing that banks loaned to persons who could not afford to buy houses. How? By picketing them and calling them racist institutions. Wake up.
kenzie45230 3 months ago 4

I think we should start over.
foredeck100 4 months ago
@foredeck100 Actually deregulation did not cause the collapse in the financial sector. Regulation did. Deviating from the powers outlined in the Constitution, anti-capitalist lawmakers passed the Affordable Housing Act, setting the stage for a housing bubble & eventual collapse. Although it sounded compassionate & helpful, this disastrous REGULATION & INTERFERENCE actually FORCED banks to lend money to people who were financially unstable. When they faulted, the fate of the economy was sealed.
MrScruples7 4 months ago 3
@foredeck100 As for America's federal deficit, an intrusive, irresponsible government did that too by spending beyond their means, on credit from foreign countries. America needs principled, honest servants in Washington who regard the Constitution as holy writ.

You also believe that Mr. Obama represents a radical change in economic policies but this isn't true. He has actually done nothing but extend most of the policies enacted by the Bush administration, which is why people on the left are so angry at him. We feel like he sold out. We know that Bush was incompetent and that this depression has his name on it, along with all the presidents since Reagan.
foredeck100 4 months ago
@foredeck100 I'm curious. Does the fact that Obama (according to you) "has done nothing but extend most of the policies enacted by the Bush administration," and as a result "people on the left are angry at him, and feel like he sold out," mean you (and they) will not be voting for him in 2012? If the left is so unhappy with him, wouldn't it make sense for the Dems to have a primary and choose a candidate more to their liking instead of letting him have the nomination by default?
TheOracle1956 4 months ago
One thing the tea party people should understand is that because of de-regulation beginning about 30 years ago, we no longer have a free market. We have a market place dominated by oligopolies and near monopolies. Not just the financial markets, but all markets. This has the effect of stiffling competition and growth, as well as consumer choice. It has also created an environment of corruption and fraud. Competition regulates the markets and makes them efficient. You people are deluded.

It's called democracy. United we stand!

I thought that most tea-party supporters were very pro-military . . . . intervene and fight everywhere, and force other countries to do things our way. . . . spend lots of money fighting. I thought that mostly they are against "domestic" spending on the citizens of our own country. That is how they seem to be in Va. anyway.
mtnprivy 4 months ago
@mtnprivy You thought completely wrong. In fact, most Tea Partiers opposed the fact that far left Obama did exactly that by getting unconstitutionally involved in libya. Most Tea Partiers are done with Iraq as we've accomplished what we set to do, want to pull out of Afghanistan as we are sober enough to realize that it's a lost cause to turn a 13th-century theocracy in to a 21st-century republic in a decade. @ryeckley82, No, it has become plainly obvious that the TP has been taken over by big business corporate interests pretending to support your freedoms, when it's really their freedoms they care about. How do you propose that we save the planet by giving the people MORE freedom to screw up? How does the earth get cleaner when we eliminate the EPA? Why do you liberals always look to a corrupt and inefficient Federal Government for a solution to everything?
mtngoat49 4 months ago 2
@mtngoat49 Your argument would have some credibility if you gave some ACTUAL examples in modern times of citizens who made substantial progress in environmental protections WITHOUT government assistance. Before Nixon started the EPA, there were rivers burning. There are still dead zones where rivers empty to the ocean, and oil spills

@mtnprivy I'll give you an ACTUAL example of what happens when government steps out of its Constitutional bounds as our Federal government is currently doing: Adolf Hitler in Nazi Germany from 1933 to 1945. ffairlane57 4 months ago
This house of cards is going to fall soon, and YOU and your clueless Libard friends are the reason why.
mtngoat49 4 months ago 30
@mtnprivy The earth is far more resilient than scare-mongering, save-the-planet environmentalists want us to believe. Through AGENDA 21 the EPA is nothing more than "cover" for an oppressive global government that seeks to eradicate freedom and control every aspect of our lives, from our lawn fertilizer to the color of our roofs, from where we live to how many children we have. Don't believe me? I suggest you read up on it starting with "The Plan’ – Agenda 21: The Death Knell of Liberty".
MrScruples7 4 months ago
@MrScruples7 The earth might survive, but what about living things . . . and humans? You call it scare mongering to be good stewards, but we now have 7 billion people, and our consumption habits per person get generally worse each year. Look at the species extinction, and climate changes already happening. Your "agenda 21" fearmongering is worse. It teaches that we should not work together or think ahead about our impact. We must be cooperative stewards of the earth.
mtnprivy 4 months ago
@mtnprivy Earth was put here by God for man- not the other way around. And God was smart enough to give us all we need to sustain life as He sees fit. So if there's an energy shortage, it's because the gov't restricts drilling (for the noble-sounding cause of "saving the planet"). Likewise, if there's a food shortage, it's because the govt restricts irrigatation (to "save the planet"). And if there's a housing shortage, its because govt restricts the lumbering of trees (to "save the planet").
MrScruples7 4 months ago
@mtnprivy Furthermore as your comment implies, the logical exponential end to all environmentalist thought it MASS GENOCIDE. It reasons that to "save the planet" from the strain mankind puts on Mother Gaia, consumption must be reduced by radically reducing the population! This faulty & frightening idea stems from evolution -that the delicate planet (not a powerful & sovereign God) gave life to living creatures through evolutionary processes & man is an evil freak of nature who doesn't belong.
MrScruples7 4 months ago
@MrScruples7 I know about "agenda 21." If you think all cooperation=communism=no freedom, then quit the church and divorce ur family. Go to the woods.
Why is "freedom" always the desire to do stupid/destructive things, like smoking in public, or guns in bars? Freedom freaks never wanna to the good/right thing by anyone else. They just wanna be stupid or mean to others. That gets old after a bit.
mtnprivy 4 months ago
@mtnprivy "Cooperation" is a buzz word for another faulty environmental corollary known as "Systems Thinking," which has apparently saturated your philosophy of life. Systems Thinking sounds scientific but it's not. It's a philsophical & religious theory that teaches that "all things are interconnected." This contrary to Biblical Truth; but as it permeates our brainwashed and godless society, it seeks to force individualism to bow to the collective for the "greater good."
MrScruples7 4 months ago
@mtnprivy BTW the family & local church are God-given institutions to be retained & treasured. Government also has its place, but The Framers understood that government is not God. They understood that gov't is run by evil men and if left unbridled, it quickly becomes tyrannical & abusive. That's why they wrote our Constitution - to limit gov't power & protect the people from oppression. In other words, the solution to evil in this world is not unlimited govt control. The solution is God.
MrScruples7 4 months ago
@mtnprivy BTW I never said systems don't exist. They do - mechanical, bodily, etc. But in an environmental context, Systems Thinking takes on an ugly meaning because it says that ALL parts and ALL systems are interconnected & CODEPENDENT. That's why environmentalists are so rabid & have no tolerance for anyone else. They believe their fate depends on everyone's "cooperation," not on God - that if I don't use a low-flush toilet it affects them personally. Or that cow farts cause global warming.

limited governments and free markets sound all lovely and laaa but in reality this means that rather than coming under your Constitutional rights you come under business , who can do what they want - wont pay you a fair wage for your labor whilst filling their own pocket to excess - this is a way to enslave people by stealth - the state must have more power and wealth than business some business are the modern slave trade take huge profits and dont pay fair - the fredom you want is slavery
MR1QUEST 4 months ago
@MR1QUEST Wrong. With a free market, you vote every day. But your voting ballot is your dollar bill. That ballot, aka that dollar, you decide (vote) for the business or service that you choose. Often, people will vote (buy) the best quality for the cheapest price. They do this because it is THEIR dollar, they want the most for their buck. When the government restricts what you can and can't buy with taxes and tariffs then that is slavery. You can only buy one good. whatever the government sells.

MR1QUEST 4 months ago
@MR1QUEST Nice language. BTW, as of today, the U.S. Government is a whopping $14,975,986.386.00 dollars in DEBT, and social security is broke. That's nearly 15 TRILLION dollars in the hole, saddling each and every taxpayor in the country for nearly $140,000.00 EACH! Where have you been?
MrScruples7 4 months ago
@MR1QUEST That's interesting, I see a different view of my country than the bull you say. Is there some reason you can't type without spewing foul garbage out of your mouth? BTW, how does it feel watching your country turn Islamic because you're not men anymore? How's it feel watching your kids run wild in the streets and destroy your society because they have been taught to not be independent and self reliant but entitled to EVERYTHING.There are no men left in Britain. You are the proof coward
Redlegarty 4 months ago 2
@MrScruples7 He can't, he hasn't got the guts like most Americans do. British testosterone is collapsing due to socialism. Not only that but the government in England frowns on such action. They want their citizens on the dole and drunk.
Redlegarty 4 months ago 4
@Redlegarty I agree with you. Britain is a socialist mess and Brits are drunk with "free" government handouts. But it never ceases to amaze me how socialists fail to understand that monstrous governments are never efficient or frugal. They're wasteful. They suppress the middle class thru taxation and eventually bring poverty to the people. Advocates for such have no common sense. They can't think straight. They must not only be drunk but brainwashed as well.
MrScruples7 4 months ago 2
@MrScruples7 your numbers would decline and your society would crash , so rather than create a large middle class and spead the wealth the 1% encourage immigration and multiculturalism , so as your numbers fall , Muslims come to your country and have children at a rate of 8.1and are prepared to live at a very low standard of living because it is still better than were they come from , so as the years go on your numbers will drop and theirs will go up , then you are over run, watch my play lists
MR1QUEST 4 months ago
@MR1QUEST I am aware that Muslims are now poised to over-run & populate America, as they have done in numerous European countries. It's a shame that instead of receiving children from God's hand, most Americans (like their European counterparts) believe the lie that children are an unwelcome expense whose numbers are to be tightly controlled and reduced through birth control & abortion, rather than the joy and blessing they really are. This folly will eventually cost Americans their country.
MrScruples7 4 months ago 2
@MrScruples7 yes but the reason they dont want kids is because they cant afford them , your economics need to change , you need to create a large middle class to stop the decline in child birth , no one wants to bring their child up in poverty and have no health care and prospects , im starting to see things in a different light lately , the 1% dont see them selves as Americans they are Internationale , it use to be country's boarders between peoples , NOW IT JUST CLASS WORLD WIDE
MR1QUEST 4 months ago
@MR1QUEST In one breath, saying Americans are rich, you said "shame" on America for not wanting to pay for entitlement programs. Yet in the next breath you say American's don't want kids because they can't afford them. So which is it? Are American's filthy rich or too poor to have kids? Make up your mind.

RP is too soft on this issue for me.

if the tea party movement had any credibility it would have been formed in 2003 or 2004 or 2005 or 2006 or 2007 or 2008 when george bush and cheney were deficit spending.....instead of waiting to form in 2009 - when a black man moved into the White House.
Listening to Cantor, Paul ryan and michele bachmann prattle about balanced budgets and fiscal responsibility is like listening to casey anthony for parenting advice.
rebjiii 4 months ago
@rebjiii The tea party should have been there to stop the bailouts from Bush. But the fact that it was formed when a "black man" was in the whitehouse has nothing to do with it. The teaparty saw Bush's bailouts expand under Obama. Black, white or purple, it doesn't matter. the accelerated spending on top of the Bush bailouts is what worries tea partiers. Find different a mode of criticism other than the racecard. The teaparty has put Herman Cain on top since he started running. He's black. fyi
howardfine13 4 months ago 3
@howardfine13 Don't confuse Tea Party with GOP. This is NOT a race issue. The hardline GOP installed Michael Steele as their chairman. This was after Obama was elected.
cwministries 4 months ago 2
@cwministries right. my point was that it has NEVER been a race issue. There are those against the tea party that think otherwise. To prove this point I brought up Herman Cain. "The only tactic liberals have is to try to intimidate people into thinking that the Tea Party is racist. The Tea Party is not a racist movement, period! If it were, why would the straw polls keep showing that the black guy is winning? That's a rhetorical question. Let me state it: The black guy keeps winning." - Cain
howardfine13 4 months ago 4
@howardfine13 ...eric cantor and paul ryan are TEA PARTY heros.....both cantor and paul ryan voted for the TARP bail out in oct 2008.....herman cain is a disgrace to his race....herman has 2 chances to be elected prez on nov 6, 2012 - those chances are slim and none
rebjiii 4 months ago
@rebjiii Cantor and Ryan did vote for TARP. And for this you are incorrect saying that they are TEA party heroes. Cain opposes federal "too big to fail" TARP programs. He wants to cut federal entitlement programs. He is against stimulus packages. He is against the growth of a federal government. He is pro domestic energy use. He wants the states to have more power. He wants to dissolve the IRS. This gives the individual more. More freedom and more responsibility. to me, that spells T-E-A.
howardfine13 4 months ago
@howardfine13 ....Herman cain actually flip flopped on TARP.....he said he was in favor of it in October 2008 - but now he opposed it.
Herman cain also stole the idea for his 9-9-9 plan from a video game
rebjiii 4 months ago
@rebjiii you're right. He did. I am glad that he now has seen that the federal "help" is not actually help. He has since stated that if another TARP was ever proposed he would not support it.
howardfine13 4 months ago
@rebjiii I very much like the idea that Cain wants to decrease federal government's reach into the private sector. He wants the individual and the businesses to have more. he realizes that if people have more money to spend then that will ultimatley create a prosperous country and a prosperous government.

The tea party rocks. Win or lose, we will live free or die. Big Govt off our backs, out of our lives and out of our faces. We had to do it in 1776, and we'll do it again.
mtngoat49 4 months ago 21
@mtngoat49 When you live free or die, you can't loose because either way, you get Big Government out of your life.
NaturePoole 4 months ago
@mtngoat49 I know you like EPA off Exxon's back. That's why you loved that pipeline spill in the Yellowstone River. Live free AND die, if you want, but I would rather not define "freedom" as the right to pollute the environment that belongs to us all. I would rather have the freedom to make the world a better place, not a worse one. In 1776 we were "free" to steal the indians land, and they were "free" to lose it, like Wall street is "free" to screw us all into the poorhouse.
mtnprivy 4 months ago
@mtnprivy What an ass. Who defined freedom as the right to pollute the environment? Why don't you preach to your pea-brained socialist Occupunk heroes about cleaning up their own hypocrite filth? You are a complete imbecile.
mtngoat49 4 months ago 4
@mtnprivy And if you don't like what we did in 1776, get the hell out our country.
mtngoat49 4 months ago 4
@mtngoat49 YOU (and your buddies) DO NOT own the country. Our ancestors stole it from the Indians, but in reality NOBODY owns the land, it owns us. It is the only reason we are here, and we better take care of it like our LIFE DEPENDS ON IT!
mtnprivy 4 months ago
Respond to this video... The Republicans who say that they are responding to tea party ideas of smaller government (perhaps with a few Democrats) are trying to gut the EPA in the name of smaller gov. Nixon formed the EPA. They are trying to stop the cleanup of the Chesapeake bay, which now has a dead zone similar to the gulf of Mexico, and they generally want less restrictions on industry. This is all from the influence of the tea party on the Rep. party.
mtnprivy 4 months ago
@mtnprivy The problem isn't the Tea Party, it is from a system that has become corrupt and needs purging. I love nature, and agree that humanity has caused many damages to the world of Nature.
It wasn't the formation of the EPA it was its subversion by PACs, lobbyists and politicians ($) that ruined the EPA.For each good thing it is working for, there are others that serve only to "pay a debt" or get the next vote
If you listen to the video, it doesn't matter what party, just principle.
TBunetta 4 months ago 2
The Tea Party doesn't show themselves to be any more capable of turning around our suicidal consumption habits than anyone else. Libertarian people must be head and shoulders more sober than the average. They must do the right thing without many laws to guide them. If they act selfishly or foolishly we all suffer. A free-for-all is NO way to turn an unhealthy world around. We need a way to NOT spoil the earth, even when it is crowded.
mtnprivy 4 months ago
I oppose abuse of power at all levels. Government should be fair to all equally. That means that I too oppose government policies that give preferential treatment, specialized tax breaks, or bailouts to some entities over others, whether that preferential treatment is given to banks, corporations, or non-profits. Banks that did anything illegal should be prosecuted. But when backroom govt favors caused the problem, govt officials (e.g.Barney Frank) should be prosecuted. Your anger is misplaced.
MrScruples7 4 months ago 2
Paying taxes to government so that government can provide legitimate services is one thing. I have no problem paying taxes for infrastructure, military, etc. But paying excessive taxes so that a bloated government can waste the taxpayers' hard-earned money or redistribute wealth is another. The redistribution of wealth is not a legimate function of government. It's a faulty communist, utopian tenet echoing Karl Marx who said "From each according to his ability. To each according to his need."
MrScruples7 4 months ago 2
My point was that it would have made more sense if the young mother with the stroller was on a sidewalk. In other words, they should have chosen a different street and section of town that had sidewalks, because most mothers would prefer to take their children for a walk on a sidewalk, safe from moving vehicles. They don't ordinarily walk down the middle of a street. Nor do they ordinarily stop to chat in the middle of a street, let alone stop in the street with a baby in a stroller.

@MrScruples7 Every policy that Gov. makes is to benefit their corporate masters. Since you are such a corporate loving teabag, I don't get it why are you complaining? And just FYI: When asked whether to pay taxes to the government, Jesus said: " Whose face is on the coin?" The pharisees (modern day teabaggers) said "The emperor's" "There you have it" Jesus said "Give the government what belongs to the government, and to God what belongs to God." So... gaaasp, Jesus was OK with paying taxes.
forevertruth1206 4 months ago
@forevertruth1206 I pay taxes to the government only so that my individual life, liberty, and property is protected. When I am taxed for other reasons, outside of three things previously mentioned, which includes FORCED charity, only then does taxation become wrong. “Life, liberty, and property do not exist because men have made laws. On the contrary, it was the fact that life, liberty, and property existed beforehand that caused men to make laws in the first place.”
- Frederic Bastiat
howardfine13 4 months ago
@forevertruth1206 I have no problem obeying Jesus by paying taxes so that govt can function and keep the peace, & I freely give aid to those in need (so long as they're not drug addicts or lazy slobs who won't work). But let's not forget the 2nd part of Jesus' words "Give to God what belongs to God." While u twist Jesus' words to preach at others about giving to a bloated govt, have you, Forevertruth, given to God what belongs to God? -- the humble submission of your life and soul to Him?
MrScruples7 4 months ago 2
@MrScruples7 A humble person doesn't speak like this, you hypocritical pharisee, you are exactly the type of scum that Jesus warns against. "Many will come and pretend they are me, but they come from evil". That's you. Oh, and by the way, the best way to tell that you hate Jesus is the moment you said "I help, so long as they're not drug addicts or lazy". Jesus NEVER put conditions on helping people. He said to help those who need most. Typical Teabag, who wouldn't help those who need the most.
