Yeah me to, I swim my 500 at 7:30 freshmen year I swam a 6:17, but I'll try real hard to get at least a 5:00 or lower. It looks easy but once you swim it and feel the pressure of having to get a good time and place, it sure is hard, keeping a speed like that constant also.

My friends best time is 4min 32sec 4 mill sec and who ever says he dosnt look like he's trying I sure hope you don't swim cause a 500 is 20 laps in a 25 sized pool i get a 7 min time the 500 its hard

Kyle won in 2010 not 2009. He is an amazing swimmer. I was there when we got the 4:19. I don't think anyone is going touch that record anytime soon

To the kid who says, "He has everything handed to him." In the video. I hope to God you don't swim. Because then it would at least make you a lesser of a douche bag for saying that. Sure he is built for swimming. But it doesnt mean he doesnt work for it. He trains his ass off. If someone accomplishes a fraction of what he has accomplished, it is an amazing feat.

the kid that won the indiana state swimming high school championships in 2009 in the 500 free went a 4.19....pretty close to phelps chill swim.

His name is kyle whitaker and he now is a freshman swimming at michigan

First of all I would like ask by which event you mean because one second in the 500 is not enough to be ranked from first to 80th. I assume you mean the 100 butterfly since he doesnt swim 50s and he is no where near being the best in those.... Second I would like to point out that a one second difference in the 100 is a difference of 8th place and first... no 80

it is not 500 meters . it is 500 yards (450 meters). phelps swims in 47 seeconds the first 90 meters not the first 100 meters.
