@iluvcireal no point in specifying it, its good either way! but indipendant music (indie) is the term for bands who dont sign to a MAJOR label like bgm or sumthing but instead use their own means for promotion, or sign to an indipendant label who have very little influence on the bands music and are simply a stepping stone to get noticed by popular media. although it has become confused with bright happy student-esque music that may not necessarily be 'indie' in the orignal sense

"Kill the phone" usually means to unplug it or stop it working. 'Killing' it in a sense.

"Cover the cage" I think refers to when you cover a bird cage with a cloth, the bird inside will become quiet and subdued.

"Wait for the doorbell to ring" means he's waiting for someone.

The whole verse is basically saying he wants no interruptions: only her.
