Bernard Cornwell helped inspire me to write my own historical fiction novel set in the 10th century. He's definitely got a knack for conjuring up the past and not holding back on the blood and guts aspect in this particularly dark period of history.
that smile when he mentions Uhtred is pagen... as a mordern day Odinist i can say i relate alot. But 1000 years od oppression does alot, but still as much hatred there i can name more chirstians then pagens i trust... fate is in extortable...
