@HanksAndJeans ...Yes, I really work for Syfy. I am a Senior Broadcast Designer. I design and animate packaging for Original Movie trailers and show mostly. It can be fun sometimes... it has it's ups and downs just like any other job. Beats working construction though, lol.
@JeffClarkDesign That does sound like a pretty sweet job. If you don't mind me asking, how much training and tech. school did you need for this sorta job? I imagine you've been in the business a while now.
@HanksAndJeans No I don't mind. I graduated in 2004 with a Bachelors degree in Animation. Basically the programs we use the most are After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Cinema 4D. I've been with Syfy for about 4 years now and I can't complain. Freelanced before that. But yea to get into Broadcast Animation... I def recommend a degree, however I know people who went to college for other degrees and are now in my field. Just have to know the software is all.
@TheGarfieldxx30000... so do I... they're horribly written and the special effects are usually half ass... I create the packaging for on-air design and animation, so thankfully my name isn't attached to the actual production of the movie. HOWEVER, there is actually a huge audience out there that love these cheesy movies, lol.
So Jeff Clark, what do you do? Do you really work for SyFy? That sounds fun.
